Oddly enough, however, neither this group nor the first one that claimed responsibility was made up of Christian fundamentalists. From AP, with thanks to Mackie:
CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - An Islamic Web site posted a statement purporting to be from an al-Qaida-linked group Saturday in which it claimed responsibility for the bombings that killed at least 49 people in London and promised more attacks in the city it described as the "capital of the infidels."The claim purportedly from the Abu Hafs al Masri Brigade was logged on an Islamic Web site where similar claims for responsibility have appeared in the past. The statement's authenticity could not be verified.
Experts say the group has no proven history of attacks and said it had claimed responsibility for events in which it was unlikely to have played any role, such as the 2003 blackouts in the United States and London that resulted from technical problems. In recent months it has also made threats that its operatives would strike in Europe if countries there did not withdraw troops from Afghanistan and Iraq.
"Our words have not gone with the wind and our strikes have not stopped. Thanks to God, a group of Mujahedeen from the Abu Hafs al Masri Brigades launched strike after strike in the capital of the Kufr, the infidels," the statement said.
"Blessed is this conquest. The coming days will show a greater expression of jihad (holy war) against those who declared war against Islam and Muslims," it said. "We will not keep quiet or stay idle until Islam is safe in the lands of Iraq, Afghanistan and Palestine."
The statement was posted on a Web site run by Mohammad al-Masaari, a well known Saudi Islamic activist living in exile in London.

Big question is: Did they spell their own name correctly this time? Last year they issued a statement and left out the "mem" in "Masri" which had something of a negative impact on their credibility.

Yes, Al Haganah, hit it on the head, the facts don't stand up in this case, but many times a terrorists group will use many names in order to fool people and make our boys think that 2 to 300 groups are doing the same terrorists acts.
who really knows who did this evil act? did bin laden send orders? was it our boys looking to make some point we can't understand? in other words who is the evil doers?
ask where is bin laden and keep asking that question.

Hugh,
I wasn't clear on the other thread.
This is Moore's op-ed.
The other untitled piece is a halfhearted stab at Islam is peace with four suras.
Both Telegraph but completely different.

Why hasn't this guy been arrested (whether or not the claim is bogus)?

Over at cnn.com, they are taking a poll: "What do you think is the major root cause of terrorism?"
- Deprivation
- Lack of Democracy
- Middle East conflict
- Political Extremism
"Political" Extremism? Who do they think are doing these attacks? Communists, fascists (well...), anarchists, or the IRA? CNN cannot even bring themselves to admit the possibility that there might be a teeny tiny religious component to the current glut of terrorist attacks. It is simply beyond the realm of their comprehension.

"The coming days will show a greater expression of jihad (holy war) against those who declared war against Islam and Muslims,"
They are totally indoctrinated with their Islam.
How did we start this war? How did my long lost relatives in Europe start this war? What was Charles Martel (I bet the French don't teach their kids in school about this political incorrect historical figure) doing fighting Muslims in HIS own backyard? Why were the Spanish fighting Muslims in their OWN backyard? Why were/are the Serbs fighting Muslims in their OWN backyard for the last odd 1000 years?
Yep we did start the war I suppose. Why? Because as an infidel I was blessed enough to be born an infidel. That's my fault according to the Peace Loving Muslims, it even further enrages them that I reject their blood cult.
To all you Muslims out there - I do have some positive news - I had a VERY critical letter published about your religion in a very large regional newspaper. I hope and think that thousands will read it, hopefully even Muslims, and with God's help, some might even leave this evil Religion of Peace that kills and maims innocents. I urge all other infidels here to write letters also – NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME WHEN PEOPLE WILL LISTEN. So if you haven’t, whether your atheist, Jew, Christian Humanist WHATEVER!!!! GET OFF YOUR BUMS AND WRITE A LETTER TODAY – AND SEND IT IN TO BOTH YOUR POLITICIAN AND NEWSPAPER. We are all targets.
How cowardly is Islam? It targets the civilian population on purpose, not to weaken any military target that may be there amongst us, but only to kill and maim.
The Nazi's were evil, but at least they had the BALLS to fight their opponents face to face (generally). You Islamic types would rather take on women, old people and babies. Well done, Allah truly is impotent!!!!
But I do understand why, lets face it all you Muslims. Pathetic Allah can't even kick a few Jews out of "Palestine" (aka Israel) can he??? Allah the impotent!!!

"people and make our boys think that 2 to 300 groups are doing the same terrorists acts." - Fred
Fred - there is only ONE group doing terrorist attacks, and its not Bin Ladens crew.
It is ISLAM. The Muslims are putting the bombs together. It is Muslims who are pulling the triggers. It is the Muslim population who are silent on these issues, yet they seem to have the energy to rally mass Muslim protests against Middle east actions by the Western powers. It is Muslims who won't donate one penny to the victims, as we are the enemy. It is the Muslim population who gives homage to those pulling the trigger.
It is the Muslims who indoctrinate their young with the Koran that lead to these killings.
There is only one group, Muslims. They are either directly or indirectly involved.

Why isn't this nut case in prison, because he is a tool being used to kill people, can't any of you see that? this little nothing Abu, is just one in millions, you may think you are just a spectator but we are all nothing but targets in the end.
And someone asked about Islamic nuts and israel both will keep running until the money runs out here in the land of freedom.
where is bin laden and why isn't he in some nice prison?
can i ask some nice nut muslims to put-out a jihad on me so i can have fun questing the nut case before the police come? pork anyone?

You are absolutely right. Not only that, then they turn around and BLAME everyone else for provoking their murderous actions!
"It's your fault that I beat you because you made me angry." This is classic abuser psychology. Blame the victims of the violence for the violence perpetrated against them.
Unfortunately, after repeated abuse, the victim believes that the abuser is right. Then the victims stop defending themselves.
It's wonderful to have a "Religion of Peace." However, it would be nice if they could take some time away from their peaceful activities and actually root out or stop the homicidal maniacs acting in their name.
As a card carrying infidel and inferior female, I used to enjoy living in relative peace and security. But, as our leaders tell us repeatedly, the fact that we will be attacked at home is a foregone conclusion. "It's not if but, when."

CNN's poll exemplifies the ignorance and stupidity of so many in the West: that we can not conceive that a massive cult could conspire to rid the world of all opposition, slowly and methodically, by conquest, rape, murder, terrorism, slavery and taxation through these many centuries. The truth is far too hideous for us to accept. So much easier for us to find blame with ourselves for living in such relative opulence when compared to the meager and tormented lives of the majority of Muslims in this world. Forget that it is the responsibility of the Princes and Kings of the Middle East to share the wealth amongst their people. Forget that they continue to afford almost no persons in the Islamic world a sliver of hope for true freedom and democracy!
Despite so many scholarly works that detail the actual and bloody truth about Islam, our illustrious media chooses to turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to it all. So many of them are hardly less than traitors in my mind.

special guest-
CNN somehow forgot to include the real answer.
Is this a trick 'poll'?
As most here already know, the correct answer is:
IT'S THE KORAN STUPID!

I heard a Muslim on a radio show saying it was the French that did it because of the Olympic
bid going to London,he may have been half right, they were French-Muslim Islamists that
lived off welfare while plotting to kill the Christians that let them into the Countrys where they collect welfare.

I used CNN's comment link to ask them to "correct their poll's information" and to give their online readers the the possibility of voting for the (supressed) correct answer, as well:
"Hate-filled Koranic verses (9:5. etc.) leading to Islamic extremism."
Let's see how fast they provide that 'option' to the poll.
(Is the Devil wearing earmuffs yet?)
