Another reason to regard Muslim condemnations of terrorism coming in the wake of the London bombing with at least a measure of suspicion. From AAP, with thanks to Twostellas:
Police have detained a member of one of Indonesia's largest moderate Muslim groups, accusing him of helping the alleged mastermind of the Bali bombings and other terror attacks to evade arrest.Police said they were questioning a supporter of the 30-million strong Muhammadiyah, the first such arrest among the moderate but increasingly conservative organisation, which runs schools, orphanages and hospitals across Indonesia.
His detention underscores fears that radicals may be spreading their influence with mainstream Islamic groups in Indonesia.
The activist, named Joni Achmad Fauzani, was detained in a police sweep last week.
According to intelligence, he helped Jemaah Islamiah master bombmaker and academic Azahari bin Husin hide out in an orphanage he helped run for eight days last month.
Azahari, who is accused of overseeing construction of the deadly Bali and Marriott Hotel bombs, which together killed 214 people, has been on the run from police along with fellow Malaysian and JI suicide bomb recruiter Noordin Top for more than two years.
The pair allegedly planned and carried out last year's suicide car bombing of the Australian embassy in Jakarta....
A Muhammadiyah spokesman in Jakarta, Zainal, said the organisation - the second biggest Muslim association in Indonesia - was still working out "a position" following Joni's arrest.
"But the police could have make the wrong arrest or have been wrongly identified," he told AAP.

Perhaps Sir Iqbal Sacranie could establish an annual award: the Moderate Muslim of the Year Award. For services to "Moderate" Islam. What new ways of jettisoning or re-arranging the Hadith, what ways of bowdlerizing the Sira, what ways of having the Meccan and Medinan suras essentially trade places, what other fantastic suggestions are likely to result from those Muslim "intellectuals" of the caliber of Khaled Abu El Fadl, striving to win the glittering prize, and to do what No One Who Has Gone Before has managed to do -- transform Islam.
Oh, a tough job. But Irshad Manji, or Khaled Abou El Fadl himself, or some fo the others who just got big Carnegie-Endowment-for-Peace grants from Vartan Gregorian, should be up to the task. True, for 1350 years it has eluded everyone -- but that was before the Carnegie money entered the picture. That will make all the difference.

The London bombing could not be the work of the Muslims. The media is again in collusion with the authorities and pointing the finger at the Muslims.
A news item released at 8.05 am ET July 7, 2005 states:

What a magic? The six bombs have reduced to four bombs! It is very clear that the explosions were pre-announced to the media as six bombs. God Almighty stopped two bombs from exploding and thus has revealed the real identity of the terrorists to be those who gave the news feed. This just a repeat of 9/11. In 9/11 it was the US authorities; likewise the current carnage in London was caused by the UK authorities just to get the G8 to support Bush and Blair.
Men could punish the innocents. When God Almighty punishes, there would be no appeal at all.
Please stop blaming the Muslims and maligning Islam.

regarding the six reported explosions .. The beeb mentioned in the afternoon of that day, that because 2 of the bombs had exploded imbetween stations they had been reported as seperate incidents. That's why it was reduced from 6 to 4

regarding the six reported explosions .. The beeb mentioned in the afternoon of that day, that because 2 of the bombs had exploded imbetween stations, the 2 bombs were heard by 4 stations and had been reported by them all as seperate incidents. That's why it was reduced from 6 to 4

I think in all the confusion that morning, with so many different people reporting the incidents from different locations, it would have been easy to get it wrong, but once the dust settled details were corrected.
Lets face it the media want as much sensationalism as they can get, which doesn't help matters.

Like I said reset - you don't have to agree with him 100% (I certainly don't), but compared to what most organisations are saying (eg Islam is peaceful), at least this guy in the UK telegraph is raising an important point, that is, Islam is incapable of producing a Ghandi, albeit using PC language.
I agree with you reset, that he is still using PC language, but you have to start somewhere, and its better than hearing all the "Mohideen Ibramsha" types on the TV, radio, and papers that say there is bugger all wrong with Islam, and that it is the "west's fault" - as we had here in Australia on the ABC national broadcasting last night.
Like I said - its a start, and a far better one than most journo's I've seen (excluding Aussie's Andrew Bolt). We need to encourage journo's who critique Islam, even if that critique is mild. To attack everyone in the media or show lack of support when they do, or write off those who do so, will only make enemies of the media, and push people who might otherwise question away. Granted, most of the media is owned, or is in bed with Islam, so the few journo’s who do what the UK telegraph writer has done, is a small, but important step.
Which can be reinforced if we write letters to the editors also critiquing Islam. I have, and I hope you do to reset.

What are you really yammering about, Mohideen, the G8 just gave mythical “Palestine” 9 billion dollars. This should make a few terrorist, I mean a few Muslims rich.
At Saddams price of 25 thousand US dollars per martyr and after Mahmud Abbas takes his 8 billion dollar cut there is still enough money left for 40,000 martyrs. Oh and Bush kicked in another 50 million for supplies. I really wish our world leaders would call their two state solution what it really is, a three state solution, Israel, Jordan and “Palestine”.

The federal Bureau of Prisons is holding 119 persons with "specific ties" to international Islamist terrorist groups, yet has no full-time Arabic translators or a system to monitor their communications, The Washington Times has learned.
A congressional aide said Bureau of Prisons officials maintain an informal list of 17 employees who are proficient in Arabic. The prison officials acknowledge, however, that none of the workers had been tested to determine Arabic fluency or undergone a special screening or background check, the aide said.
Capitol Hill is starting to notice.

For a long time I reserved judgement on Islam but now it's too late for these bloodlust

Canada appears to be rejecting the demands by CAIR to have Shariah Courts for Muslim females,I now see subtle threats by CAIR throught their Lawyer because CAIR now professes that Canada is a occupier in the Middle east and assisted the great satin USA to dethrone the Taliban that was a elected party using Shariah under the authority of Allah.
The Khadr family is in canada and the mother has praised the 9/11 hijackers for murdering canadians and she hope her children
die in Jihad as a suicide bomber killing the infidels and zionist supporter in North America.

A number of these terrorists die thinking they are going to heaven...but certain western countries militaries are burying the bodies of these sickos with pig blood and pig urine poured in their mouths.
I've even heard soilders now regularly dip their bullets in pig fat so during last moments of the enemy's life they will be turned to hell.

The operators achieved tactical surprise over their unarmed and employment-oriented quarry. What a glorious victory. Peh.
I believe the early story involved the number of subway tunnels streaming victims. If it had been six or seven bombs the death toll would top a hundred and the number of seriously wounded would be close to double what it is now.
