This is looking increasingly like a very, very lucky find. An update on this story. "2 Men's Ties to Group of Extremists Investigated," from the LA Times, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
Counterterrorism officials are investigating the possibility that two men recently arrested in a string of South Bay gas station robberies may have been part of a local group of extremists with ties to prison or street gangs, local and federal law enforcement authorities said Thursday.Although there is no evidence of a specific terrorist plot, law enforcement officials say materials recovered at the South Los Angeles apartment of one robbery suspect, Levar Haney Washington, 25, suggest that an attack might have been planned at any of nearly two dozen addresses, including National Guard recruiting facilities, two synagogues and a building believed to be the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles.
During an extensive search of Washington's apartment last week, authorities said they found no explosives or bomb-making materials, but did recover some bulletproof vests and undisclosed "jihadist" materials not readily available via the Internet or other public sources, as well as the list of addresses that appeared to be unlikely targets for a simple robbery.
Washington, a Rollin' 60s gang member who was convicted in Orange County in 1999 of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and belonging to a street gang, converted to Islam in prison. His alleged accomplice, Gregory Vernon Patterson, 21, who has no criminal record, is believed to be a more recent convert....
Raising investigators' suspicions was their discovery that Patterson, until recently, worked at a duty-free gift shop at Los Angeles International Airport's Tom Bradley International Terminal, where another possible target on the list, El Al Israel Airlines, has its ticket counter.
Patterson, who worked at the airport shop for about six months, left the job early this year. Sources said there was no evidence that he was at the airport to survey it as a possible target.
Instead, they said they are investigating his time at LAX because the airport has long been known as a terrorist target and the El Al ticket counter was the site of a July 4, 2002, rampage in which an Egyptian immigrant shot and killed two bystanders.
A week after the FBI confirmed that its Joint Terrorism Task Force was investigating the two Muslim converts for possible links to extremism, authorities emphasized Thursday that the fast-moving investigation was still in its early stages.
At the same time, several sources said there is a possibility that others could be arrested in the case. Unlike the ongoing federal investigation in Lodi, Calif., where authorities suspect at least two individuals supported terrorism by attending overseas training camps, the probe of Washington and Patterson is specifically aimed at determining whether they were involved in plotting a terrorist act, law enforcement officials said.
Last week, Torrance police arrested Washington and Patterson in connection with a string of gas station robberies from May 30 to July 3. The arrests occurred during a stakeout by detectives, and subsequently led to a search of Washington's apartment on West 27th Street.
There, authorities said, they discovered what was described as "jihadist" literature, as well as documents with the addresses of numerous sites, including National Guard locations and the "Consulate of Zion." Authorities surmise that is a reference to Israel's consulate in Los Angeles, since the list allegedly found in Washington's apartment was of Southern California locations.

The tragic irony with all these thwarted attacks by Muslim extremist is that it prolongs the lie of the ‘moderate Muslim’. That lie is, conveniently for Islamists, supported by the Western media.
The lines go something like this “Most Muslims in western countries are law abiding”. Well, that’s until they turn into murderous monsters. And then it’s still true that “Most Muslims in western countries are law abiding” until the next one in a 1000 flips out and decides to poison your water supply by applying his bio-chemistry degree from Yale or Oxford in the name of Allah.
No folks, this intolerant ideology had learned how to manipulate the PC-mafia, the media and, alas, our democratic process.

What's especially troubling about this case is LAX was a target for the millenia bombings that were miraculusly thwarted at the Canadian border. Angelino's should count themselves lucky.

We need to persuade our dominant Leftists to see the logic of simple, rational law enforcement:
1) There is a group: Muslims.
2) The majority of that group is safe and law-abiding.
3) A small minority out of that group is horribly deadly.
4) In terms of prevention, most of the time we cannot tell the difference between the safe Muslims and the horribly deadly Muslims.
5) Therefore, we have to use law enforcement procedures that will include and inconvenience the entire group of Muslims.

Khan also labels Canada as the enemy of Muslims and Islam for Murdering Taliban members in Afghanistan after the 9/11 attack that cremated 24 Canadians among the 3000 victims. Why on Earth democracies tolerate the intolerant Muslims like Khan that spew their infidelophobia while doing nothing to leave the Christian nation they hate so much , the onus is now on Muslims to show that they are peaceful and abhor any murdering of civilians without the usual "BUT" which brings up the tripe about the crusades and Israel .

Note how the family absolves themself of any blame by insisting they don't watch him all the time to see what he does when he's not at home, the real sad part is the way the portray him as a good boy that was used.
At some point the son had to make a freewill choice to embrace violence and the openess to listen to other Muslims preach violence, if the souls of Muslims can't sense the evils of hatred
from others then maybe the Quran has nothing to do with gods love and they never had any compassion and forgiveness to love strangers and their enemies.
You can tell the type of tree you have by the fruit it bares, and if 99 percent of the terrorism in the past few years come from islam then the tree has poison fruit and seeks to kill all that eat from it.

Like the little girl in that wierd movie, where the demons came out of the television, "Their here!!"...Well they are here, here there and everywhere...The ones under arrest are probably only the tip of the iceberg...but it is enough where we are beginning to 'see' it. Prison systems, especially the US, produce muslims who, for the most part, go right back into society, and pick up the criminal and/or jihadic behavior, that got them to prison to begin with. Jihad is the 'obligation" of all muslims...or so say's their own literature and experts...One of the most immediate thing's a prison could do is to ban all forms of religious anything. No book's no paraphrenalia, no meeting's no nothing...Incarcerated people have few rights. Their liberties have been taken away from them and a state of confined, guarded existence thrust upon them. Religious conversion in prisons is the same mentality as 'There are no atheists in foxholes'. It is a place to hide out in a scary place to live. Sometimes it is sincere but most often it is not. The prisoner released takes the insincerity to the streets with him, and you have instant criminal/jihadists. Like those arrested in this article. The prison systems should stop looking at religions in prison, as a theraputic tranquilizer, that prisoners have a 'right' too, and start looking to protecting the public...and prisoners/staff. PC has no place in prisons...those people are not there because they have dandruff...If prisoners want to pray on their own fine...but thats it...

Somehow the prison authorities in the entire Infidel world have got to figure out how to shut down, or severely impair, Da'wa operations. Those conducting Da'wa in prisons, or among other largely captive populations, ripe for a Total System that will justify, and dignify, their felt alientation, are everywhere spreading Islam. Meanwhile the Infidels do not see what is going on just below the surface, have no idea how effective these Muslim missionaries, who of course fail to tell the full truth about Islam, may be.
It should not be beyond the wit of the government or of private foundations to monitor, and attempt to check at every point, these efforts at Da'wa.

Islam is for losers, and where can you find more losers than prisons. We should ban Islam in the prisons, but that is not PC. Prisoners, who have failed in their life, are thrilled to belong to the relion of the oppressed, and with its promise of global domination by the sword, well, it's rapture for them.
"You mean I can kill as many Infidels as I can, and Allah will move me to the front of the line?"
"Absolutely, it is written in the Quran. Front of the line, baby!"

Oh boy, the fbi is investigating. The same fbi whose leader -mueller- lunches with arab/muslim terrorists. The same fbi who takes directions from the (W)ahabbster. The same fbi who indoctrinates agents with training from arab/muslim terror fronts. The same fbi who won't hire Jews as translators. The same fbi who promotes muslim agents who refuse to investigate muslim suspects.
