Judge orders California cleric deported

Jihad recruitment in California. Lodi jihad update from CNN, with thanks to CGiddensJr:

Shabbir Ahmed, the imam of a mosque in Lodi, California, is likely to be sent back to his home country within two weeks, his lawyer Saad Ahmad said Monday.

Ahmed was arrested for overstaying his visa in June, along with a father and son from Lodi who were charged with lying to FBI agents, and another Muslim cleric and his son.

None of the five men have been charged with terrorism crimes.

During a bail hearing last week, an FBI agent testified that terrorist leaders had planned to use Ahmed as an intermediary to pass orders to Hamid Hayat, 22, who the FBI says attended an al Qaeda training camp in Pakistan.

U.S. Immigration Judge Anthony Murry denied bail for Ahmed and ordered him sent back to Pakistan in a brief hearing Monday afternoon.

Ahmed, 39, told the judge he was dropping his challenge to the detention and would agree to be deported.

His predecessor at the Lodi mosque, Muhammad Adil Khan, and Khan's son, Muhammad Hassan Khan, were also arrested as part of the probe and agreed to be deported in July.

Federal immigration officials said Ahmed and the elder Khan had planned to establish a madrassa, an Islamic school similar to one in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi where both taught before coming to the United States.

"Evidence presented at last week's proceeding showed that this madrassa has been used to recruit individuals to engage in jihad," or Muslim holy war, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said in a statement.

Deported, yes, stop being jihadists, no. They will go back to their countrys and continue their 'holy war' against the west by training others, who will come to the west and take up where they left off...they fit the descriptions of treason and sedition, and should do long sentences behind bars. Deportation is not good enough...

Even in prison, these people will spread their murderous dogma to men who have already developed a taste for violence. Western governments should either create purpose-built penal facilities for jihadi, or offer them the martyrdom they desire.

duh_swami & St Dunstan-

There has to be the death penalty for treason in these cases, otherwise we just export what will be reimported later, in a more malignant, vicious and murderous condition.

(And who, alternatively to deportation, wants to feed them in one of our jails for 40 years?)

Time to get serious about our survival.

They want us dead? Let's return the intention.

Treason is an act of disloyalty to your nation. As far as I'm aware, this guy is not a citizen of the US, so he is neither seditious or treasonous, merely a scumbag.

St. Dunny:

They do have a special facility for jihaddists -- Guantanamo -- and look at the pissing and moaning the usual suspects have done about it.

On the radio, his lawyer said that Shabbir Ahmed was completely innocent, but that he was unable to defend himself from the charges while incarcerated. That's why he agreed to deportation.

I agree with all here: have the trial here, and if found guilty, punish him here in a way that he is not able to continue fomenting violence. It's only fair to give him the chance to clear his good name [heh], so deportation should not be an option. Pakistan is overflowing with jihadists as it is.

I've noticed something very telling about
the mind sets of followers of Islam and here's a few words they use that jumped out at me. I hear the usual rants by Imams that propaganda is used to smear Islam and demonstrations are needed to halt Islamophobia , and madrassas are need to nurture the peaceful teachings of Islam and the Quran.
Right , and Arafat was a man of peace.

madrassa
propaganda
demonstrations

At first they look innocent but look closer

MADrassa
proPAGANda
DEMONstration

Demon
Pagan
Mad

Yep,that's discribes Allah and Muhammed allright and maybe that's why they are so informed
on how to spot Satan , they're experts on what's evil and even if they don't see it they accuse people of being evil to justify killing them for Allah's pleasure.

ukinfidel-

Picky, picky, picky.

It's nit-picking hair-splitters like you who weaken the chances for the survival of Western civilization by adhering to the obsessive-compulsive mythical 'letter of the law'--- while missing the supra-legal point of staying alive.

The guy is in the U.S., whether a specific 'citizen' or not. A 'guest', at worst. If convicted of supporting the violent destruction of the country (which is Islam's goal, since it knows America will not submit or convert) he is a danger to the nation. And will become more dangerous the more we allow this type to grow.

Stop pussyfootiong with terrorists.

If they're guilty of plotting -or literally trying- to destroy the U.S., then destroy them first.

Or do you prefer a city being nuked to convince you? Well then grab your socks and watch your clock. If these maniacs get the chance, it will happen. Hundreds of thousands turned to puddles of molten ichor. Or carbonized shadows on the nearest standing wall.

These jihadists are unrestrainted by any human decency, being pre-poisoned by the Koranic absolutist dogma of dhimmitude, death and doom.

Either take their threats seriously,

-or bend over and take it where the moon meets the end of the line.

I take them dead seriously.

They all agreed to be deported.....what the hell is going on??!!
Do they have to agree,in order for us to be able to deport them??
Does their agreement really mean anything, have we gotten to the point where we need a terrorist`s agreement before deporting the pig?

On June 10, I posted:

And let's hope the 'clerics' aren't simply deported. Charge them with everything possible, and put them on trial.

I thought this might happen. I hope that each of these three folks (two Imams and the son of one of them) gave up a lot of info to avoid prosecution.
