Jihad recruiters arrested in Paris. From the BBC, with thanks to Cindy:
French police have detained six men in a Paris suburb suspected of recruiting volunteers to fight against US and British forces in Iraq.The men, who are believed to be all in their twenties, were picked up in the Seine-St Denis area of the city.
Intelligence services believe there has been a steady but limited movement of Islamic militants from France to Iraq over the last year and a half....
It seems that the six were being kept under surveillance and were only taken into custody when they were about to pass from the planning stage to actually sending volunteers to Iraq.
The French intelligence services are keeping a close eye out for recruiting networks among Islamic militants, though they say that the phenomenon remains relatively small scale.
So far, they have identified 20 or 30 individuals who have gone out via Syria or Saudi Arabia.
Three of them died in suicide bomb attacks and four others in clashes with US and Iraqi forces.

It was hot I can tell you, though I was in Hartford when a similar heatwave in the late 90's killed many people in Chicago, very similar indeed.
Nothing to do whatsoever with the Black people killed in those squalid squats, both look like accidents.
Not sure about letting them out in 4 days as France has an attitude in dealing with Islamic terrorists. They lock them up for a long time.
I am not sure if they were born in France, but if they are immigrants they will be deported after serving a sentence.
The French authorities have already broken up two such rings.
Last night I watched TF1, TF1 always uses the words "Terrorist Islamic", the BBC could learn from this.
They also reported on that fact that the extremists have created a network of businesses to fund themselves, so the French authorities are raiding them with police, customs, social security (as illegal immigrants don't pay their subs) and health inspectors. On TF1 they showed a raid on an Islamic resturant where 2 illegals were taken away and the resturant was also subject to three control orders based on a lack of hygine.

The French intelligence services seem to do an effective job and I am guessing that they do a much better job at intelligence gathering than we do in the U.S. The French are a little odd in ways and not always helpful to us but they are not stupid. Wherever there is talent and something to learn we should try to improve our own services..G-d knows we need improvement.

That's some remarkable intelligence, tracking (or identifying the corpses of) people who have left the country. If the dead left papers and passports, then the backtracking effort began at the Iraqi end. That effort was spearheaded by the US or British. Good work.
Suicide bombers will often leave evidence of their identity so that their martyrdom can be recognized by family and friends. Sometimes they will hold their hands up high so that their fingerprints are preserved in the blast.
Sick.

The reason it doesn't help my mind is they only aresseted how many ?? But yet the story goes more than 30 were ready to go kill others be they Iraqis or who ever??

The United States – Swastikas Burnt onto the Lawn of a Jewish Family's Home in Atlanta
On 28th August 2005, some unidentified vandals trashed the lawn of a Jewish family's home in Atlanta, Georgia. They burnt swastikas onto the grass, urinated and defecated on the porch and threw toilet paper onto the trees. One of the daughters of the family said that the vandalism was in retribution for her reporting on the young thugs who had broken curfew

The Battle of Vienna in 1683 (Turkish: İkinci Viyana Kuşatması) (as distinct from the Siege of Vienna in 1529) was the first large-scale battle of the Habsburg-Ottoman Wars, yet with the most far reaching consequences. It pitted an Habsburg army of about 100,000 troops and their allies led by Charles IV, Duke of Lorraine, a 30,000-man relief force under Jan III Sobieski, King of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, against the Ottoman army commanded by Grand Vizier Merzifonlu Kara Mustafa Pasha, which numbered approximately 140,000 men, although a large number of them played no part in the battle. Capture of the city of Vienna was long a strategic aspiration for the Ottoman Empire, due to its interlocking control over Danubean (Black Sea-to-Western Europe) and overland (Eastern Mediterannean-to-Germany) trade routes. During the years preceding the siege, under the auspicies of grand viziers from the influential Köprülü family, the Ottoman Empire undertook extensive logistical preparations including the repair and establishment of roads, bridges and logistical centers, as well as forwarding of ammunition, cannons and other resources from all over the Empire to the Balkans.
