Guess who else is involved with the Thai insurgency?

The United State's certified ally on the war on terror continues its duplicity. From the AP:

A security adviser to the prime minister said Thursday that Indonesian fighters are involved in Thailand's Muslim insurgency, contradicting government insistence the bloody separatist movement is a homegrown affair unconnected to Southeast Asia's al-Qaida-linked terror network.

In a recent AP interview, a veteran Thai rebel leader warned that militants from Indonesia and Arab nations might join the Thai fight for a separate Muslim homeland if the government continued a crackdown that is provoking a new generation of fighters.

Lukman B. Lima said the 21-month-old insurgency is getting moral and financial support from abroad, especially from Islamic sympathizers in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.

Read it all.

I came across some good work by a U.S. Navy scholar on the Islamic Thai insurgency. Half of it is at the link below, preceeded by other (short) pieces on the Muslim response to living with Thais. There's some editorial above that that might not be relevant to many readers at all. However, the Naval officer's work is first rate.

Anyone for a beach holiday in Phuket?

Or would that be 'swimming with sharks'??

Once again, Islam manages to lay waste to yet another positive aspect of modern life: leisure in a tropical paradise.

This should be the direct link I refered to above, but I never have much luck with these things.

One of the more interesting things about the essay itself is that it proves to anyone who can reason at all that military people are intelligent and thoughtful, constructive and dedicated people. The essay is good in itself, and though it might be longish to read on a computer screen there's alway the print option. Nice work that inspires me with some hope for the future. If the "anti-war" crowd can't put up a better lot than what we see today our future is assured. Go Navy!

From the story -- "More than 1,000 people - including moderate Muslims, Buddhist villagers, policemen and government officials"

How does the reporter know those Muslim victims were "moderate"? It is far easier to know that a victim is a "Buddhist villager", or a policeman, or a government official. More difficult is it to know if it was a "moderate Muslim". Not every Muslim is necessarily "moderate" by the sheer fact that he or she is murdered by Muslim Jihadists. Indeed, many of those murdered continue to contribute to and participate in the extremist culture that is spawning the monsters murdering them perhaps for not being quite Taliban-pure enough.

We must exert pressure on the Indonesian Muslims to keep their CORELIGIONIST DANGEROUS FOOLS out of Thailand OR BE SANCTIONED.

Southern Thailand today is remniscent of Kashmir in 1990. The storys all too familiar. Muslims start a terror campaign with help of a neighbouring Muslim state, the start a concentrated campaign of terror against religious minorities within their lands. By 1992 Kashmiri had been effectively ethnically cleansed of Hindus. I hope Thais have sense to handle this situation cautiously.
