Today it is the exception rather than the rule, but we will see this kind of thing more and more - guaranteed. Young men, young white men, looking for their masculinity, growing weary of the saccharin offerings of this world that just don't quite satisfy like they used to. Islam provides a cause and a purpose, transcendence and identity, for boys who grew up alienated from their fathers and who have no idea what it really means to be a man.

Would that the Church here in the West rise up and reclaim its masculine virtues.

Yeah, he just likes the parts of Islam where you get to carry big guns and kill people. And since Jesus put the kibosh on doing that sort of stuff, Islam was the perfect fit. But then all that other stuff in Islam is just window-dressing, isn't it? A facade. To give the impression it's a religion to naive infidels, and to give the non-jihadi ones something to do in their spare time, between breeding and learning how to become jihadis, or supporting the jihad in some other non-combatant way. I think Hicks is quite diligent about practising his "faith".

Anybody who took to the streets to protest for the release of this character should be directed to photographs of Afghanistan under the Taliban. I wonder if the general leftist conglomerate of limp westerners and assorted minorities would cry so loudly for his release after seeing just what he's prepared to fight for.

The apologists' explanations may be able to hide the plain truth of the Koran, Hadith and Sira but there is little that can explain away the image of a woman being beaten with a stick for exposing her wrist.

Matt - great post, and I think you have touched on something now lacking in the all to secular West - the lack of what it means to be a man, and the lack of spirituality.

The Church is not entirely guilty, but also the education system that says to young men and women are equal - to every extreme (a socialist concept that had disastrous effects on the Russian family unit under the communists).

In doing so, men have lost their identity and purpose. Yes men and women are equal, but they are also different (thank God for that, imagine a world with NO women, how horribly boring! Women are a gift from God and should be treated as such - not like pieces of meat - like Islam treats them as). It is this lack of acknowledging differences between the sexes (which means yes – a bloke is better at some things compared to a women and vice versa – ever seen a bloke give birth?) that has stolen both men and women's identities. I know many will disagree when I say such things. But it is these differences that built our society. The fact that we have lost this idea, I believe, has led to our decline in birth rate (women are no longer seen as mothers, but "working women" are more highly prized in our capitalistic societies - especially Australia), it has led to our HUGE male suicide rate, the abuse of women by men in our society, and it has led to many young western men converting to Islam.

The West needs to recognize its heritage (that includes Christianity, which thanks to evolution being taught as fact in schools, which it is not - the West, now, hates and despises the Bible as a book of lies and fairy tails, and the moral code that goes with it).

We have no sense of our own culture. We are now "multi-culture" which means love anything that is not Western, despise anything Christian. We are living in a time where our Western society is falling. Welcome to the new Dark Age. Do not disagree with the status quo, or else you will not be tolerated by the self declared tolerant.

Altogether, 117 members of three Hamas networks responsible for five Israeli murders in four years have been rounded up in the West Bank towns of Ramallah, Kafr Shewoich north of Hebron and Dahariya southwest of Hebron. As a student in Egypt, their leader, Yasser Salah of Ramallah was recruited by a Gazan Hamas operative. The son of the Ramallah police chief, he was hired as an aide to Palestinian interior minister Nasser Yousef.

A young Palestinian woman of 22 was sent from the Gaza Jebaliya camp to the West Bank as a bomb-maker, expert in explosive vests. Israel permitted her relocation to marry a man from Tulkarm. In Ramallah she ran courses in bomb-making for Hamas network members and trained her husband to take her place if she were captured.

Under questioning, the detained terrorists admitted to the murder of four Israelis. Two women, an officer and a soldier, were shot dead outside the southern command in Beersheba in February 2002. Eitan Kukoi and Rema Novkov were murdered south of Hebron two years later.

In August, 2005, they engineered the suicide bombing at the Beersheba central bus station in which two security guards were gravely injured chasing the bomber away from the buses. The kidnap of Sasson Nuriel was to have been the first in a series of abductions of Israelis. Two Palestinians who worked with him lured him to A-Ram village north of Jerusalem to buy a coffee machine. At their Ramallah hideout they videotaped him before his murder.

The network had manufactured a 20-kilo bomb ready to plant at the Israeli air force base in the Judean desert and plotted more terrorist attacks, but they were captured in time.

I don't know where you are posting from, but aside from the Montreal-based Algerian who was caught transporting explosives across the Canadian/US border on the eve of 2000 to blow up Seattle, Canada has had a shameful history of providing safe haven to Nazis, Palestinian terrorits, the notorious Khadr family who lived in OBL's compound in Afghanistan where the father and four sons trained and participated in jihad until they were either killed or incarcerated. One of the four sons is living in Canada again and, although he supposedly is now anti-jihad, is also full of resentment. His sister recently tried to fight the Mounties for the return of a computer full of jihad-related information on a re-entry to Canada and her and her mother have been denied any more Canadian passports because they just seem to keep losing them in Pakistan and other such localities. There was also news about a year ago of a Vancouver Muslim who was killed in one of the former Soviet satellite states, allegedly abroad to celebrate a friend's wedding, but killed by the Russians in an anti-jihad raid.

Canada free of jihad? Sorry to have to to have to disillusion you.

Cockroaches may become pests in homes, restaurants, hospitals, warehouses, offices, and virtually any structure that has food preparation or storage areas. They contaminate food and eating utensils, destroy fabric and paper products, and impart stains and unpleasant odors to surfaces they contact.

IDENTIFICATION
Cockroaches are medium-sized to large insects in the order Dictyoptera (formerly Orthoptera). They are broad, flattened insects with long antennae and a prominent pronotum. Some people confuse them with beetles, but adult cockroaches have membranous wings and lack the thick, hardened forewings or elytra of beetles. They are nocturnal and run rapidly when disturbed. Immature cockroaches (nymphs) look like adults, but are smaller and do not have wings.

Of the five common pest species, German and brownbanded cockroaches inhabit buildings, whereas the oriental, smokybrown, and American cockroaches usually live outdoors, only occasionally invading buildings. It is important to correctly identify the species involved in a cockroach infestation so that the most effective control method(s) for the species involved is chosen.

GERMAN COCKROACH
The German Cockroach, Blattella germanica, is the most common indoor species, especially in multiple-family dwellings. They prefer food preparation areas, kitchens, and bathrooms because they favor warm (70° to 75°F), humid areas that are close to food and water. Severe infestations may spread to other parts of buildings. This species reproduces the fastest of the common pest cockroaches: a single female and her offspring can produce over 30,000 individuals in a year, but many succumb to cannibalism and other population pressures.

LIFE CYCLE
An adult female cockroach produces an egg capsule, called an ootheca, which it carries around protruding from the tip of the abdomen. The German cockroach carries the ootheca for most of the 30-day incubation period and then drops it about the time the eggs hatch; the other four species carry it for only about a day before depositing it in a suitable location where it incubates for weeks or months. Young or immature cockroaches undergo gradual metamorphosis, which means they resemble adults and have similar feeding habits, but they do not have fully developed wings and are not reproductively active. Immediately after molting, cockroaches are white, but their outer covering darkens as it hardens, usually within hours.

MANAGEMENT
Managing cockroaches is not easy. You must first determine where the roaches are located. The more harborages you locate and treat, the more successful your control program will be. Remember that cockroaches are tropical and like warm hiding places with access to water. Some locations will be difficult to get to. If cockroaches have access to food, baits will have limited effect. Sprays alone will not eliminate cockroaches. An approach that integrates several strategies is required.
If you know the species of cockroach, you will be better able to determine where the source of infestation is and where to place traps, baits, or insecticides. The keys to controlling cockroaches are sanitation and exclusion: cockroaches will continue to reinvade as long as a habitat is suitable to them (i.e., food, water, and shelter are available), so the conditions that attracted and favored the infestation must be changed.

MONITORING COCKROACHES
Traps offer the best way to monitor cockroach populations. By placing traps in several locations and inspecting them regularly, you can identify the areas of most severe infestation and know where to concentrate control efforts. Traps also can be very helpful in evaluating the effectiveness of control strategies.

CONTROLLING COCKROACHES
Insecticides are most effective in controlling cockroaches when combined with sanitation and exclusion practices that limit the cockroach's ability to establish or reinvade; chemical control alone will not solve the problem. If insecticides are used, they must always be used with extreme care. Indoor chemical control is warranted only if the cockroach population is established but not for an incidental intruder or two.

FOLLOW-UP
After a cockroach control program has been started, evaluate the effectiveness of the methods that are being used. Use traps or visual inspections to help determine if further treatment is necessary.
If populations persist, reevaluate the situation. Look for other sources of infestations, make sure that all possible entryways are blocked, be certain that food and water sources are eliminated as much as possible, and continue sealing and eliminating hiding places.

Very interesting post Matt, very interesting, like a catholic male in Europe, I feel many ways like that, but I know that I´m not alone, the problem is finding these people who loves the same that me and this isn´t easy because we seem a minority.
