A US warplane struck a suspected insurgent safe house near the Syrian border Wednesday and may have killed a senior al-Qaida in Iraq figure who assisted in smuggling Syrian and Saudi fighters into Iraq, the US military said.A military statement did not give details of the airstrike. But it said intelligence sources indicated that the al-Qaida member, identified only as Abu Dua, was inside the house at the time of the attack. His body has not been recovered, the military said.
Abu Dua was part of a network that included al-Qaida figures in a network of towns along the Syrian border northwest of Baghdad, the statement added.
The statement said Abu Dua set up religious courts to try Iraqis charged with supporting the Iraqi government and coalition forces.

Yet more proof that Islam is a nation and not a religion.
Think about it: what is a "relgious court" if not a court?
As Mao correctly noted, all justice ultimately comes out of the barrel of a gun. The ultimate authority behind these so-called religious courts is power of the martial kind, not divine.

so this guy was trying iraqis, being judge jury and executioner.....and we blew his a$$ off the face of the earth. i love it. guess it harkens back to that old saying: "Judge not, lest YEE be judged as well...."

Everybody (except Sheikh Al-Gorge, Condi and Karen Huges) knows that Islam (Dar-al-islam) started WW III (Dar-al-harb) way before Iraq, 9/11 or PLO. Any surprise that Syria, Iran, Afgnahistan and Pakistan are involved? But, where ignorance is a bliss.....
