Israeli Aircraft, Artillery Bombard Gaza

A response to the rocket attacks from Gaza. From AP:

BEIT HANOUN, Gaza Strip - Israeli aircraft and artillery bombarded open areas in northern Gaza on Saturday as part of an intensifying campaign against Palestinian rocket fire on Israeli border areas....

Artillery shells were fired after Palestinian militants sent a homemade Qassam rocket slamming into southern Israel, the Israeli military said. Israel uses artillery shelling more sparingly than air strikes because it is less accurate and poses a higher risk of harming Palestinian civilians.

Palestinian Interior Minister Nasser Yousef, meanwhile, told his security chiefs that "firm and serious action" would be taken against facilities used to manufacture or store weapons, his office said in a statement released Saturday.

But there was no talk of disarming militants, as Israel has demanded, and the statement said Palestinian security forces "would not enter any house looking for weapons."

In other words, the jihad will go on as before.

How long until the UN demands that Israel cease it's actions? The PA can bomb and kill innocents and not a word.

Empty area bombing is tangental, and a waste of good munitions.

Israel must get its head on straight and think in terms of total war and total victory.

Deport all of Gazastan to Jordan for starters.

Agreed. That is the way. No launchimg million dollar missiles to bounce rubble in Gaza, not even killing terrorists. Just simple deportations will do the trick. The same here in the West as well.

"firm and serious action would be taken against facilities used to manufacture or store weapons"

I'm sure those facilities are shaking in their foundations.

Israel has every right to protect its citizens from these Morons who never want peace. Israel have given them so many opportunities, but each time when there is a good chance for peace, these Morons re-start the war.
Israel has no option but to protect itself. The truth is, there are more people around the world that support Israel than the terror organizations that attack it.

This is why Isreal needs to withdraw settlements from occupied territories. Not to appease palestinians, rather so it can build a 30 foot cement barrier around the ENTIRE country, so it can respond militatily every time there is an attack without risk to its own citizens. Completely close off the country from anyone who doesn't belong there.

Counter battery fire. It works like this: incoming enemy rounds are tracked by IDF counter battery radar which provides an instant ballistic solution for IDF artillery that drops return rounds right on top of the enemy launch site within a minute of the enemy launchings. The IDF is "training" the Palestinians to expect automatic return artillery fire on the launch sites every single time they launch ordinance at Israel. The general population will eventually pressure the militants to launch only from empty fields because they don't want the automated return IDF rounds coming into their crowded neighborhoods. This forces the militants to set up in open spaces where IAF patrols on orbit can begin to pre-emptively whack the would-be rocket and mortar crews.

"... build a 30 foot cement barrier around the ENTIRE country, so it can respond militatily every time there is an attack without risk to its own citizens."

No more barriers, no more walls. No more forcing Jews off the land. No more painful concessions or goodwill gestures. No more apologies for living.

The international community is a disgrace. Israel is condemned for doing what any soveriegn nation has the right to do.

In what other nation are citizens massacred and then told to refrain from going after those responsible? America, Russia, UK...WHERE?

In the UK they chase some guy into a train and put 5 bullets in his skull. If Israel had done that there would have been a hue and cry like you haven't heard in years -- UN sessions and talk of war crimes.

Israel, you are a nation apart and always will be. Protect your people and let the chips fall where they may. The world will be better for it.

geekpunk,
You don't get it. They want to kill all the infidels every where. All the time, forever. The Jihad is worldwide, and isn't exclusive to Isreali Jews.

Artillery shells aren't smart, but they are damn sure effective. It should be obvious to Israel now that they have opened the door for a new Arab nation to hate them. That makes 23. Plain old artillery shells are an effective deterrent, because they decrease the enemies chance for martyrdom. In other words......BLOW THE SON OF A Bee@CHES UP!!!!

If the Aswan Dam goes, Egypt will drown.

Walling Gaza off from world is an excellent idea. It is nothing but a realm of hoodlems, just make it a huge prison, they can "police" themselves. The Israelies have every right to defend themselves from those thugs, just as I have the right to protect my family. They should pound the terror groups until they beg for peace, and if they dont .... so be it.

`Equally chilling was the prediction that the Christian countries of the world would unite to defeat the followers of Mohammed. The year she said this great battle would begin was the year 2000. This horrible and bloody battle, that would claim the lives of millions, would be ended by a nuclear attack on present day Iran. She predicted a “bomb of great power would fall on a city in Persia.” In Bernadette’s day, there was no Iran.`

Anyone who believes it is wrong to transfer the 'Palestinians' to Jordan does not care about the welfare of Israel or the 'Palestinians'.
