French riots spread outside Paris

French riot update from Reuters, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

AULNAY-SOUS-BOIS, France (Reuters) - Rioters set fire to hundreds of vehicles in impoverished suburbs of northeastern Paris in an eighth night of unrest that spread for the first time to other parts of the capital and towns in France.

Local officials said they had lost patience with the government. Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin and his rival, Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy, opted for low profiles after days of squabbling over how to handle the crisis.

Police reported fewer clashes than previous nights and residents said the Eid al-Fitr holiday ending Ramadan may have calmed areas with many Muslims of North African and black African origin who feel treated as second-class citizens.

But the rioting spread, with some attacks reported in western Paris suburbs -- including the spectacular burning of 23 buses at a depot -- and a few cars firebombed around Rouen in northern France, Dijon in the east and Marseille in the south.

The pattern of violence also changed, shifting from crowds clashing with police to targeted arson attacks, many against businesses and warehouses....

Justice Minister Pascal Clement was visibly shaken after being briefed about a handicapped woman in her 50s who was badly burned on Wednesday evening when rioters poured petrol on a city bus she was riding in and set it ablaze....

In several interviews on Friday morning, conservative politicians said drug traffickers and Islamist militants were fanning the unrest, although they gave no details.

A note to our French 'allies' from an American observer: Ha! Ha! Ha!

*************************************************

Maybe these riots in Paris would make for an appropos moment for the US media to erupt in paroxysms of hateful anti-French tirades and diatribes similar to those endless anti-American ones pouring out of French and other western European countries' media like lava from a volcano in the months following 9-11.

Treat others the way YOU want to be treated. Maybe the French wanted to be treated abusively by Americans. Here's their opportunity.

"... visibly shaken after being briefed about a handicapped woman in her 50s who was badly burned on Wednesday evening when rioters poured petrol on a city bus she was riding in and set it ablaze."
-- Reuters article

The rioter was a jihadist; the middle-aged woman was an infidel.

And God had commanded that it be made done.

One wonders how many times this Good Active Moslem -- firebrand murderer-arsonist with his back-switch set to the On position -- recited the verses below, and dozens others like them.

PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH PBUH

"Soon We shall strike terror into the hearts of the Infidels, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority: their abode will be in the Fire!"

"They refused to believe and imagined that their strongholds would protect them against Allah. But Allah came at them from where they did not suspect, and filled their hearts with terror. Their homes were destroyed. So learn a lesson, O men who have eyes. This is My warning…they shall taste the torment of Fire."

Theoretically speaking, would it be legal to yess "Fire!" in a crowded Mosque?

If Paris is the Islamic "Light Unto the Western Nations" project, then this poor burning woman was one of their "Thousand Points of Light".

In our arrogance, we think that only we can transform societies. We think we are the only ones who can use might to implement social structure. Yes, the neo-conservatives had a nation-building plan when they took us into Iraq. But the jihadists had their own nation-building plan when they went into Iraq. We delude ourselves that we are the sole superpower in the world, and the jihadists are just a small rag-tag bunch of fanatics. In fact, we are facing a multi-national enemy who is well funded (think oil), who is well armed (think Iran/Pakistan's nuclear program), and who has many powerful political connections (think Saudi princes being kissed in the Rose Garden). It's time to stop d***ing around and face the fact that war was declared on us long ago.

Sarkozy's policy of cracking down firmly on crime has really upset the status quo where the cites were left to their own devices and integration was not expected.

It allowed a mini-sharia to be established by the 'emirs'/'big brothers', call them what you will.

"The radicals have managed to chase away French "shopkeepers selling alcohol and pork products, forced "places of sin," such as "dancing halls, cinemas and theaters, to close down, and seized control of much of the local administration."

The above from Amer Tahiri's article via Hyscience, under 'Chirac is clueless while Muslims burn Paris'. http://www.hyscience.com/

"GUARDING FAMILY HONOUR

The "big brothers" -- a loose term for any man who plays a mentor role for disaffected youths -- are respected and sometimes feared players in slum neighbourhoods where official authority is despised and family structures are under strain.

Traditionally privileged in Arab society, the older sons in immigrant families emerged as authorities in place of foreign-born fathers, whose parental prestige melted away because they lost their jobs and could not speak French.

Since the 1980s, many of them have become spokesmen for youths in dealings with the police and local officials, few of whom come from among the minorities living in their areas.

The capital's popular daily Le Parisien saluted their civic role on Thursday, highlighting "big brothers" such as one named Samir, 28, who said: "It's natural for us to reason with the younger ones so they don't do stupid things." But "big brothers" are also blamed for enforcing Muslim customs in the suburbs, especially among younger sisters who some traditionalists do not want to see becoming "too French".

In the violent macho culture of the housing estates, the term "big brother" also evokes a brother who guards the family honour by terrorising his sisters to wear modest clothes and keep away from boys.

One of the main arguments heard in favour of France's famous ban on Muslim headscarves at state schools was that it would liberate teenage girls from the pressure of their parents and "big brothers" to cover their hair as a sign of modesty. "

Unfortunately Sarkozy seems to be using them as mediators when it is they who have caused most of the problems, and it seems to me they have jumped on this pretext - the death of the two boys, who should have been tucked up in bed at home - as an excuse for an intifada to protect their sharia state.

"It's the police, they come here with their truncheons and behave like they are the law"

From a poster on http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=5&t=405344 who heard 'a youth' say it on French radio" (Scroll way down)

The current presence of more police on the ground is the visible face of an authority they do not recognise.

Has anyone noticed the wide disparity of coverage of this story between the different MSM outlets? Half of them, it's the lead story. The other half, it's not mentioned.

For example, www.sfgate.com finally mentioned it today, but with the tagline that there were "few clashes with cops reported in second week of riots." In other words, they finally cover the story, while simultaneously denying that there is any story.

We're French but not real French says Walid who calls himself a 93, for the postal zip code of a Muslim enclave.
