Misunderstanders of Islam at it again, this time in Jordan. Motive? Well, it seems that "the tyrant of Jordan has made the backyard garden for the enemy of the religion -- Jews and crusaders." You may have missed Richard Coeur De Lion's last expedition into Jordan, but A-Q is on the case. "Al-Qaida Claims Credit for Jordan Blasts," from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
Al-Qaida claimed responsibility in an Internet posting Thursday for three suicide attacks on Western hotels that killed at least 57 people, as police clamped down on security and began running DNA tests to try to identify the bombers. The nearly simultaneous attacks late Wednesday also wounded more than 115 people, police said. Several arrests were made overnight, although it was unclear if those arrested were suspects or witnesses.
The claim of responsibility, signed in the name of the spokesman for the group Al-Qaida in Iraq, said that "after studying and watching the targets, places were chosen to carry out an attack on some hotels that the tyrant of Jordan has made the backyard garden for the enemy of the religion _ Jews and crusaders."
The authenticity of the posting could not be immediately determined, though it was made on a Web site frequently used by Al-Qaida operatives.
Here is an excellent New York Sun editorial on the significance of the attacks.
And here is the text of the A-Q statement (thanks to Gabrielle Goldwater).

For an excellent analysis of why Jordan, see 11/9, by Dr. Walid Phares, at Front Page Magazine.

As you should be, if not politically, but linguistically correct: According to the CNN Arabic rendering of the statement, Jordan is the "back yard of the enemies of religion AND the Jews and the Crusaders". This makes a difference, doesn't it?

Jordanians don't like the latest bombings in their, Amman, once the Biblical Rabbath-Ammon. But when it was Israelis getting slaughtered at weddings and other family celebrations, that was OK. Now they're getting the same treatment that they approved for us.
Anyhow, these bombings raise questions about the media and "leftist" interpretations of Arab terrorism. It is always blamed on Israel. But why were they murdering fellow Arabs --and in such numbers. After all, the wedding guests on the whole were not likely to have been people who make policy for the Jordanian monarchy.
Maybe the terrorists just like to murder.

Klempner,
In Jordan, there are no other "enemies of religion" [i.e., the only true religion that matters, Islam] other than Jews and Crusaders.
In Jordan, it would be safe to say that, as far as Al Qaeda is concerned, there are no atheists. And there are certainly no Hindus or Buddhists or Zoroastrians there. What other enemies of Islam could there possibly be in Jordanian hotels but Jews and Crusaders and those Muslims who have stooped so low as to have allied with them?

Eliyahu:
Vis Jordan and terror operations, you may recall there was great displeasure in Iraq with Jordan back in February when the Jordanian-based family of one of Hassan Al-Banna's grandsons -- the so-called California Bomber, who blew himself up at a hospital in Hilla, killing about 120 Iraqi Shiites and wounding many more -- marked the event by throwing a martyr's wedding for the dear departed.

For the islamofascists and the dhimmi left, ALL roads lead, not to Rome, except metaphorically, but to the West, the US, Isreal. All grievences are traceable to the West or it's agents and stooges. If you don't support the Islamofascists, you are, by default, one of the above.
Will this change anything in Jordan for the better, or will, after the street protests, things return to "normal"?

Just like when in New York young muslim's stomped on an American flag in the streets of New York, and sang Alla u Akbar, and onlookers did nothing. While the defamers of the flag relished in the fact that they could do so, because of American so called "loopholes." This was not a loophole, and get it right, it is the right all should have to express speach. Derogatory or not, you have freedom, and if I had seen it first hand, the flag would have been raised and there would have been one hell of a fight, for freedom!

I can kill you if you are Christian, Catholic, Pagan, or whatever religion, not responding to the all mighty Allah. If you criticize, you must be killed. If you do not convert, you must be killed. If you do not speak the tongue of my prophet, yet scorn him, you must be killed, stoned, or submitt to a tax or slavery.
