Whats chechenya's population, I wonder? I'd thought after such a long war, it must've fled chechenya. Anyway Al Qaeda's meddling can't be good news for anyone.

Funny how every country from Morocco to Malaysia is clamied as "his own" by an average Muslim irrepective of his ethnic origins. So by their twisted logic a Kashmiri Pandit has no right on his own land whilst an Arab joins jehad in Kashmir to "liberate his land". Same for Al-Quaeda in Chechnya. Chechens as other Muslims dont understand that their probably ethnically more close to Russian kaffirs than the Arabs.

I understand that Chechnyans were very supportive of the Islamic uprising because it would secure freedom from the oppression of the Russians.

They then realised (when it was too late) that Islam is worse than Russian Communism.

History has many examples of people loosing one oppressor to get a worse one in the ensuing vacuum, including Russia and surrounding states so no lessons learned there then.

This may be a military success but the war needs to be on a different front. My moslem friends showed me a video of a moslem having his head cut off (after being humiliated by being shaved) that was circulating the moslem cyber-world. Of course this was to produce the indignation of the Moslem viewers and re-inforce the "reality" of the "global conspiracy angainst Moslems", spurring them into support and action.

This was being typically unquestioned (well done mosque teaching methods) by these post-grad moslems.

1st thing I did was notice how yound and Russian looking this "moslem" was. So... I did a web search and found the same video put on websites several years before showing a Russian soldier being beheaded.

hmmm...

There are lies, damn lies and then there is the global consipracy to oppress moslems doing the propaganda rounds in the "Moslem Community."

Just what exactly does it mean when it says they "destroyed" him. Did they blow him to really tiny pieces? Did they vaporize him? Maybe this is a translation from a unspecified language. They actually killed him. I enjoyed the dramatic flare.

I don't understand it. Russia is effectively fighting the terrorism from Chechnya in it's own. The same Muslims are behind atrocities in Grozny and Moscow as are behind 9/11 and 7/7. Yet the British and US don't seem to be doing a lot to help them. We even let mentalists such as the Redgraves harbour mass murderers wanted by the Russians for the murders of tens of thousands of Russian citizens. The Muslims in the Caucasus have not just appeared in the 90s, they have been at it for decades, even centuries.
