US and China to cooperate more on terrorism

From Reuters, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:

BEIJING - The United States and China hope to strengthen shared efforts to fight terrorism and "pirate" copying of goods, Washington's top justice official said on Saturday.

U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales told a news conference in Beijing he had discussed expanding cooperation with Chinese justice and police officials in talks before President George W. Bush arrives in Beijing later on Saturday for a three-day visit...

China says its biggest terrorist threat comes from separatist forces in its far-western region of Xinjiang, where most of the population is Muslim and belongs to the Uighur ethnic group. But international human rights groups and advocates of Xinjiang independence say China has exaggerated the threat in the region to suppress legitimate protest...

The United States is holding 15 prisoners from Xinjiang in the Guantanamo Bay detention center on Cuba. They were captured in Afghanistan, which neighbors Xinjiang, and China has asked for them to be repatriated...

OT to this article, but somehow I can't wonder if it could be related in the future... and it continues an earlier thread on coastal attacks:

I noticed an article on Yahoo about Panama building a 'Mega-port.'

It is my understanding that China now has control of the canal?

I was curious about Panama so I googled 'panama muslim' and came up with these:

http://www.journeytoislam.com/history/A%20Brief%20History%20of%20the%20Muslims%20in%20Panama.htm

See where I am going with that?

Back to chores...

There has never been a major terrorist attack in China, though the suppression of Muslim Uighurs in Xinjiang, and their dilution by non-Muslim Han, could both be consided acts more dangerous to Islam than anything the governments of Western Europe have done. Might the absence of a response be explained by the understanding that the Chinese government and people, unlike those in the West, would likely respond to any such attacks in a way that would permanently affect the continued existence of Islam in China?

Perhaps that is something to ponder.

I was once taught some excruciatingly filthy Chinese 'swear words...' Apparently Chinese don't so much swear, but utter a string of ideas and dirty words and ideas which, when strung together, create eye stinging images and concepts which can curl your hair...

Why mention this? I'm convinced that anyone who can swear like the Chinese apparently can, shouldn't be messed with lightly -- they'd probably make very good and brutal allies in a genuine war against Islam...

If only GWB could convince the PRC to join the coalition forces in Iraq, even if it is only one senior military adviser put in charge of the detention of captured enemy combatants who are then moved to prison camps in China. We could then close down Gitmo and Abu Ghraib, problem solved. AI's and the IRC's beef would then be with the PRC, not the US, and we know how the PRC would respond.

Only if the Chinese stopped all that military aid to Paki-Jehadis. They've taken cold war rivalry a bit too far considering India supported China for a permanent UNSC seat.

Man we're talking about the ppl who virtually gave Muslims "the bomb".
