More holiday cheer in Indonesia: "Christians threatened with terror attack: Jihad group warns of 'same bomb blasts as Bali' New Year's Eve," from World Net Daily, with thanks to Cindy:
Police are on a high state of alert in a predominantly Christian province of East Timor, Indonesia, after an Islamic group threatened an attack on local churches to coincide with New Year's Eve celebrations.According to Asia News, a cellphone text message received Wednesday by radio Timor Voice read: "On New Year Eve, 31 churches in [East Tenggara Timor's] capital of Kupang shall receive the same bomb blasts as Bali did last October. [Signed:] From the Jemaah Islamiiyah Chief of the eastern region, Jihad for the Great Prophet Muhammad."
Provincial Police Chief Robert Bellarminus Sadarum said the threat must be considered "a serious and imminent danger" for the whole Christian community.
But the local chapter of the Indonesian Ulemas Council strongly denied claims the terrorist group Jemaah Islamiiyah is operating in the province.

Nevertheless, according to Asia News, security officials have deployed about 2,250 soldiers and police officers, and Sadarum said "tighter security will be imposed around churches on New Year Eve."

Kupang is WEST Timor, not EAST. Indonesia has no jurisdiction over East Timor.

"Six people have been killed and more than 40 hurt by a bomb blast in a market in Indonesia's Central Sulawesi province, police say. Witnesses in the town of Palu reported seeing bodies lying on the ground after hearing a deafening blast. The province's Christians have been repeatedly targeted in recent attacks blamed on Muslim militants. ... The explosion took place in the busy early morning hours at a stall selling pork meat in a Christian part of the town. Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation but the population in many parts of Central Sulawesi province is split equally between Muslims and Christians. ...
Security was tightened in the province recently amid fears of fresh violence between the two communities. Three Christian schoolgirls were beheaded by masked assailants in Poso district in October. Twenty people were killed in May this year when two bombs exploded in the largely Christian town of Tentena. Almost 1,000 people died when inter-religious clashes flared in Central Sulawesi province in 2000 and 2001."

Unfortunatley TERRORISM takes hold the minute threats are made and people are put on alert, the terrorists get satisfaction from the impact they cause, I would definately take the threats seriously and would suggest a serious search of mooslems in the vicinity, (who else would capable of something as this)to deter any infractions.
The New Year will bring with it renewed Faith to defeat terrorism wherever it rears its ugly head!!!!!!!

The early morning blast in Palu, capital of volatile Central Sulawesi province, came after warnings of militant violence during the Christmas and New Year season in Indonesia. But it appeared to be linked to regional tensions, not international Islamic militancy.(/b>
