Islamic Jihad: No ceasefire in 2006

The end of 2005 also spells the end for any ceasefire agreement with Israel, at least in the eyes of Palestinian terrorist group Islamic Jihad. From the Associated Press:

The Islamic Jihad and several armed groups with ties to the ruling Fatah movement said Saturday they won't necessarily observe a truce with Israel in 2006.

The limited cease-fire, negotiated in March, expires Saturday, and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian mediators are trying to win an extension. Hamas has largely stuck to the agreement, as part of what has been portrayed as Hamas' gradual transformation into a political party.

The smaller Islamic Jihad never laid down its arms and carried out a series of suicide bombings and other attacks against Israel in recent months. Islamic Jihad claimed it was committed to the truce in 2005, and that the attacks were retaliation for perceived Israeli truce violations.

In a statement Saturday, Islamic Jihad said: "We reaffirm that the official end of the truce agreed to in Cairo last March comes at midnight on Saturday." It was not clear whether the group would participate in talks on extending the cease-fire.

Interesting to note that Islamic Jihad -- an organization which is substantially supported by Iran -- rather than Hamas is leading the effort to sabotage any sort of ceasefire negotiations with Israel.

Well, Happy New Year hammas or is it myass? These people have no value for anything other than their crooked concept of what life is all about, death! we should simply wage a global war against these sons of satan(mo himself). Let the crusades begin in 06.

Since when have there been a cease fire?? Each time Israel tries to hold their fire - the numerous Islamic Terror (Jihadi) groups go on the rampage, killing innocent civilians in Israel.
Islam = Terror. Period.
The sooner the so called 'peace groups' come to this realization the better for all. Their ultimate goal is the destruction of the only democratic country in the mid east -Israel.
Over the years since 1948, the Palestinians had so many opportunities to establish a decent 'government' in their territories, but they do not have the capability to do so; as Islam is their core belief and it calls for the killing of the Jews. They are more interested in terrorizing Israel than in establishing a decent society in their territories.
The Arabs in the surrounding countries keep up the rhetoric to keep the Palestinian issue in the forefront to avoid any criticism of their own failed governments.
Israel absorbed all the displaced Jews from all Arab countries. Why cannot the Arabs too do the same, without poking the fire of hatred towards Israel.

The world does not have to look very far to observe that the trouble with the Palestinians is Islam . It is a religion which is foreign to the concepts inherent in all other beliefs such as Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism of compassion and forgiveness. Instead, it glorifies death , murder and revenge.

A good example are the various terror factions that operate in Palestinian lands such as Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Al Aqsa brigades and so forth. When they launch suicide attacks which kills many ordinary Israeli citizens, the Israeli Military retaliates in a measured response, always against the militants to destroy their capacity to attack again, then these terrorist organizations & Arabs scream that they will take revenge on Israel and will eventually wipe out Israel.
Since the resurgence of Islam in the world due to Saudi petrodollars and the Iranian revolution of 1979 we can see how terrorism has been encouraged and perpetrated by radical Whabi (Saudi) inspired Islam and now has spread around the globe.

For the West to win this war, we have to confront it and fight it, by expelling all radical imams who preach hatred, checking all mosques for virulent ant-west literature, keeping a close eye on Islamic organizations , curtailing Muslim immigration to the west. Serving notice on those who are already here that the rights and freedoms they are abusing in western countries will not be tolerated. It is time to get tough and lay down the rules. Play by our laws or get out to you Islamic paradises.

To echo other posters, what ceasefire? Who could possibly take these jokers seriously anymore? The sooner the rest of the west trusts their very own eyes and proclaims that The Emperoror Has No Clothes , the better off we'll all be. Muslims included.

But since this is New Year's Eve, I am reminded of a famous scene from a movie I've seen, I don't know, probably 20 times at least:

Harry: I've been doing a lot of thinking. And the thing is, I love you.
Sally: What?
Harry: I love you.
Sally: How do you expect me to respond to this?
Harry: How about you love me too?
Sally: How about "I'm leaving"!
Harry: Doesn't what I said mean anything to you?
Sally: I'm sorry, Harry, I know it's New Years Eve, I know you're feeling lonely, but you just can't show up here, tell me you love me and expect that to make everything alright. It doesn't work this way.
Harry: Well, how does it work?
Sally: I don't know, but not this way.
Harry: Well, how about this way? I love that you get cold when it's seventy-one degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you're looking at me like I'm nuts. I love that after I spend a day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes, and I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night. And it's not because I'm lonely, and it's not because it's New Years Eve. I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of the life to start as soon as possible.
(Sally's eyes show that she is smitten - but she is not ready to admit it yet)
Sally: You see, that is just like you, Harry. You say things like that, and you make it impossible for me to hate you. And I hate you, Harry... I really hate you. I hate you ...
(They kiss and make up. "Auld Lang Syne" is heard in the background)
Harry: What does this song mean? For my whole life I don't know what this song means. I mean, "Should old acquaintance be forgot". Does that mean we should forget old acquaintances, or does it mean if we happen to forget them we should remember them, which is not possible because we already forgot them?
Sally: Well, maybe it just means that we should remember that we forgot them or something.

Anyway, it's about old friends.

:-)

"The sooner the rest of the west trusts their very own eyes and proclaims that The Emperoror Has No Clothes , the better off we'll all be. Muslims included." (Me, previous post)

Instead of "Muslims included", I should have said "Muslims especially".

Cause they're the ones who are naked.

And sorry to say, it ain't a pretty sight.

Happy New Year, fellow infidels! Keep fighting the good fight!

Posted by: Insomniac [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 31, 2005 8:45 PM

happy new year friends and fret not - good will prevail. I am a Sikh and we number under 20 millon globally and have fought islamists for centuries - they tried hard to wipe us out but failed because we are disciplined and steadfast in military. i am sure that loving religions like ours will prevail.

Happy New Year! I hope 2006 is a terrific year for all of you.

Happy New Year all infidels!

Taj, if 20 million Sikhs moved to America it
would be a good thing, but just 20 muslims and
there is a problem! Sikhs and Baha'i show what a
lie it is (Hugh?) since Islam is younger than
Christianity and Judaism that it's just "catching
up" and will soon be peaceful. I heard that one a
few weeks ago. How come Sikhs and Bahais aren't
out there beheading people?

I wish Israel would start playing ball like the
King Hussein (the elder) and Assad (the elder)
did with their radical islamists nd "palestinians"

Posted by: American [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 1, 2006 2:33 AM

Hamas has largely stuck to the agreement, as part of what has been portrayed as Hamas' gradual transformation into a political party.

That's a downright LIE but what do you expect from A(F)P. They have always been supporters of the "Palestinian" lie, even going as far as fabricating "news" to demonize Israel in the worlds eyes. You see A(F)P "journalists" (if you can call them that) wearing T-shirts with pro Palestinian slogans printed on them.
