Arkansas jihad update

Here's the latest on Arkansas jihadist Arwah Jaber: Prosecutors Ready, But Don't Oppose Trial Delay," from The Morning News, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

FAYETTEVILLE -- Prosecutors at the U.S. Attorney's Office are taking no position on the requested continuance of the trial of a Fayetteville man charged with providing support to a terrorist organization.

Arwah Jaber, 33, faces charges of knowingly attempting to provide material support to Palestinian Islamic Jihad, considered by the government to be a terrorist organization.

Trial is set for Feb. 13 in Fayetteville before Judge Jimm Hendren. But Jaber's attorneys have asked for a delay, saying they've had trouble getting material they need to prepare for trial from the government. They contend that, even if they had the material now, the short time remaining to review and analyze the material and prepare jeopardizes Jaber's right to constitutional due process and a fair trial....

Jaber also faces charges he lied to get a passport, credit cards and to obtain U.S. citizenship.

Congress should make new laws, expanding the possible reasons for revocation of citizenship, and these reasons should include support for declared terrorist groups anywhere in the world" and for those promoting the same ends as those terrorist groups whose actions may tend to justify or weaken opposition to such groups. A little legislative drafting, a few words from the sponsors (those who give to Congressional campaigns), and an aroused and determined citizenry that will not let up until the law is passed. It will be a law hard to oppose, and those who do oppose it will find their opposition has consequences, and for many of them, will -- one dares to hope -- prove politically fatal.

Thank you Hugh, how right you are.In Australia and in the United Kingdom as well as in the U.S. one would think that the revoking of citizenship, in the cases where a person has committed heinous acts against society and the country, would be automatic, it certainly should be.

Do we not prosecute war time criminals and deport them back???

How many German Henchmen have we identified and deported???

They should be stripped of citizenship and sent back to desolate places where they are despised.

They could start by enforcing what's already on the books with respect to giving "aid and comfort" to the enemy, which this guy clearly has done.

On a lighter note, "Arkansas jihad" brings up this mental image: "Dueling Ouds." :)
