Jamie Glazov interviews Jesse Petrilla of the United American Committee in FrontPage about an important upcoming initiative. One caveat: modern political Islam may have roots in fascism, but political Islam itself is much older than fascism.
Frontpage Interview's guest today is Jesse Petrilla, the founder of the fast growing organization The United American Committee (UAC), a federation of concerned Americans promoting awareness of threats to Homeland Security, primarily focusing on Islamic extremism in America. The UAC is planning a National Rally Against Islamofascism Day on February 1.Jesse Petrilla in the Golan Heights on a recent fact-finding mission in the Middle East.
FP: Jesse Petrilla, welcome to Frontpage Interview.
Petrilla: It's good to be here Jamie.
FP: So your United American Committee (UAC) is having a National Rally Against Islamofascism Day on Feb.1. Tell us about it.
Petrilla: The National R.A.I.D. (Rally Against Islamofascism Day) is taking place so that citizens everywhere at the grassroots level can rally against Islamofascism in an attempt to awaken society and our government. We picked Feb 1st, a day that will not coincide with any holiday, so that we can send a clear message that we are standing up, and rallying against the Islamic extremist enemies of our nation and those who support them.
We have 18 rally locations scheduled so far in America, and numerous international rallies on February 1st as well -- including the Czech Republic, Australia, and others. These rallies will also send a message of support for our troops and also for law enforcement, those men and women who protect us in the war on terror.
Any and all individuals interested in forming a rally of their own are encouraged to gather their friends and head out to a busy street corner, or outside of a government building with flags and signs in hand, to rally on Feb. 1st in the National R.A.I.D.
FP: So what are some of the goals the UAC hopes to attain with the National R.A.I.D.?
Petrilla: It is aimed at awakening the American people and the American government to the Islamic extremist threat. It is also a way to let concerned citizens know that they are not alone. If a citizen is concerned with the radical Islamist threat to our nation, when they see other people standing up, they will hopefully stand up as well. We need to let people know that it is OK to confront Islamic extremism, regardless of whether or not it is politically correct. We will never defeat our enemies if we are afraid to fight them and call them what they are.
Rallies against Islamofascism being held in communities across the nation will also let other citizens know that many people feel that something must be done. The mere fact that people are rallying against Islamic extremism means that many feel that something is wrong. We need to send a clear message across America and around the world that the people are standing up against those who wish to destroy us.FP: What motivated you to organize this rally?
Petrilla: America is at a crucial crossroads at this moment in history. Our actions today will echo for generations. At this time when the American way of life is being attacked, many citizens of America instead of standing behind the nation, are rallying against the war on terror and against the efforts of organizations such as the United American Committee. The U.A.C. is attempting to give people a grassroots outlet to assist in the war on terror.
We feel that in this time of war we must come together and unite in support of confronting our enemies, and assuring that our government does not yield to those in America who wish to subvert or sabotage efforts which would protect the nation against our Islamofascist enemies.
When I founded the U.A.C., I was just doing my part; I am just a concerned citizen like many others, and the Feb. 1st National Rally Against Islamofascism Day is a way to let the voices of the concerned citizens be heard. This is much more than just a day to hold a rally, the UAC is much more than just an organization, this is the beginning of a movement in America of the people, for the people, and by the people. A movement to be victorious over America's radical Islamic enemies.
FP: So, the term “Islamofascism.” Define it for us.
Petrilla: Well, we can deconstruct Islamism's roots in fascism, etc. But to put it simply, Webster's dictionary defines fascism as a "olitical philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition."
The Islamic fundamentalists wish for Islam to be an all encompassing lifestyle and government law. The goal of the fundamentalists is to establish global 'Sharia law', those are the Islamic laws which draw no distinction between religious and secular life. Sharia goes far beyond covering religious rituals, but covers many aspects of everyday life, politics, economics, banking, business or contract law, and social issues.
Fundamentalist Muslims wish to establish Sharia law around the entire world. Thus, it fits quite well with Webster's definition of fascism, and is therefore, Islamofascism -- a totalitarian threat against democracy and the American way of life.
FP: Yes, we can go deeper of course. Islamism, as you note, has roots in fascism and it also shares the same roots with fascism. The Nazis, for instance, helped create the Muslim Brotherhood in 1928, etc. A despotic impulse against liberalism and individualism is always a species of the fascist virus.
In any case, we'll save this for another forum.
So who should take part in the National R.A.I.D.?
Petrilla: Any and every American should take part in this effort. This is not limited to any one religion, race, economic class, or political party. Republicans, Democrats and independents alike are encouraged to unite on Feb. 1st as we stand up against our enemies. The terrorists know no party lines. Muslim groups are especially welcome to join us and to show their support for America. If there are pro-Western, pro-American Muslims who wish to stand with us and hold the American flag, we would love nothing more. If they refuse to stand with us, I ask the question "Why?"
This is an opportunity for Muslims who do not follow militant Islam, and who have embraced democracy and America, who may otherwise be afraid to speak out, to stand up and show their support for the nation and for freedom and democracy.
The purpose of this rally is to unify all Americans behind a common goal and against an enemy that is seeking to destroy values we all hold dearly. This is a rally to promote peace and tolerance and make clear what America stands for. Republicans, Democrats, people of all ethnicities and political backgrounds, are urged to march on the day of the event and show their true support for the United States of America. If they are with America, then they should have no problem marching with us.
FP: Have any Muslims joined UAC and are you aware of some Muslim leaders or organizations planning to participate in the National RAID?
Petrilla: We have attempted to reach out to the Islamic community numerous times.
The extremist regimes and ideologies of Mideast nations bring great hardships upon their people. That is why it is of utmost importance for the Muslims to stand up against terror, and Islamic extremism. Several pro-reform and pro-western Muslims have sided with the UAC. However, many still refuse to join with us, either out of fear of being labeled apostates by their Muslim brethren, or for other unsaid reasons which include their holding of fundamentalist beliefs.
We cannot change the views and tactics of the fundamentalists, the change must come from within the Islamic world. We extend a more than warm welcome to any Islamic organization that wishes to take part in the Feb.1st National Rally Against Islamofascism.
So far we have had no takers as far as Islamic groups. However, we more than hope for, and expect to see Muslims who are against Islamic extremism join us in support of America and the West at our rallies.
FP: Before we go, you have just been on a trip to the Middle East?
Petrilla: Yes, I just came back from a trip to the Middle East on a fact finding mission and I saw what the radical Islamists want to bring to America. Throughout the Middle East there are minefields, bombed out buildings, and when I visited Israel, security checkpoints everywhere and a stressful on-edge lifestyle are the norm. That's what I foresee happening to America if we don't confront our enemies today.
FP: Tell us about these minefields and "bombed out" buildings. What exactly are they and where are they?
Petrilla: I spent some time in the Golan Heights, where Syrian soldiers would lob rockets from atop mine-covered hillsides into Israeli farms and settlements. These are horrors that America does not know much of.
We got a taste what Islamic extremists have in store for us on 9/11 and we must work hard to keep the peace of mind that makes us who we are, Americans.
FP: Mr. Petrilla, I hope your rallies turn out to be a great success. Good luck in your important and vital work.
For all of our interested readers who would like to go out that day and find a rally closest to their location, just visit the UAC site for more information.
Petrilla: Thanks Jamie, in our effort to preserve our way of life against Islamic extremists it is a major first step to let those concerned citizens know that their voices can be heard. The National Rally Against Islamofascism Day will be a way to do that. I encourage everyone to attend the rallies listed in our press release, and if there is not one in their area, I encourage all concerned citizens to gather their friends and hold a rally of their own.

Hate to be the skeptic folks, but I bet each of these rallies attracts only a dozen or so participants. I attended a similar rally last year organized by a different group. Besides the speakers and the media, the crowd consisted of 8 or 10 curious passers-by.
There just doesn't yet seem to be a mass constituency sufficient for such direct action. It's incomprehensible....and a testimonial to the gullibility and sloth of the human intelect.
Islam is the biggest security issue and the most important sociological issue of our time...and people can't be bothered.
How frigg'n depressing.

I'm living in George Galloway's constituency, Bethnal Green in London, and I can't remember a single rally denouncing islamofascism here! Which is strange, because the area is certainly politically conscious - there are posters everywhere anouncing rallies and marches all the time - 'End the occupation of Iraq, Free Palestine, End US Imperialism, Free the Guantanamo Hostages' etc.
But what do you expect from a constituency in which Galloway's election campaign made repeated reference to the fact that his Labour Party rival Oona King's mother is Jewish?
I want a rally!!! If I weren't too busy posting on this site I'd damn-well organise one myself...

I guess that's where faith comes in Rebecca...because besides prayer, there isn't a whole helluva lot to be done. Hugh can write about population transfers all he wants...it just ain't gonna happen.
And the one tool we have - educating Muslims about the intolerance of their own theology - is verboten in our schools, universities, media and in our political discourse.
We're trapped...and by our own cultural myopia.
Sorry to sound so negative. I'm off to slug it out in the real world now.
Interesting how reality becomes the escape.

"educating Muslims about the intolerance of their own theology"
i'm in the UK, and if i started handing out leaflets about Islamic intolerance, i'd be arrested by the police for promoting "racial hatred"- FACT.
we're hamstrung over here in Europe, by dhimmi laws.

Islamo-Fascism is a redundant term. By itself, that isn't a bad thing, just as one has redundant power supplies, redundant memory, et al, but the main problem with the term is the implication that there is an Islamo-Fascism very different from the Islam, which by itself is not a problem.
That said, I think it is brilliant of the organizers of the rally to have used this as a rallying cry. Since most people are unaware about the real face of Islam, having a "National Rally against Islam" day would be seen as a racist/xenophobic/Christian (the last one would be the worst) action. Therefore, using the term Islamo-Fascism to describe mainstream Islam, and holding the rally against that, would attract a lot more people.
Also, what does Islamism mean? Was it simply Jesse Petrilla's cute way to avoid saying, "Islam is Fascism, but happens to pre-date it".

People, we're rallying right here right now!!! The word is getting out via this web site!!! Be of good cheer and let not your hearts be troubled!!! If only 10 people come by to hear, then the mission was accomplished. The word got out. It only takes one spark to start a fire.
We are the freedom fighters of the free world. All is not lost.
During the Pacific theater of World War Two, the Marine and Naval forces weren't doing too good. It looked hopeless. But then Midway. The turning point of the war in the Pacific. The U.S. forces gained not only the victory but set the stage for the defeat of the Japnese Naval fleet.
The same for the European theater of World War Two, the Battle of the Bulge was the turning point there.
The enemy may be great in numbers but we have the truth on our side. And as long as the Jihad Watch is here, we'll never be off guard and always alert!!! No sneek attacks.

Cornelius, a revolution starts with the first stone.
Inaction because the time is not right does not work.
We are just starting to form a mass movement.
This can be an opportunity to organize... select leaders.... plan strategy and set the course for a mass movement to tell the truth about Islam and Islamic extremist threat.
If only a few hundred participate worldwide, them we have selected a core group from which to grow.
I would also suggest that we build a secure website that only participants can access because Jihadwatch is an educational site and it's function of sorting
out the truth about Islam is much more important.

Interesting. Anything one could organize with the help of TypeKey in authenticating who's who would lend a great sense of safety; I don't want to wake up some morning to someone from CAIR (hi, CAIR!) ululating on my doorstep. ;)

This is a good idea, no matter whether the turn out is initially modest or not. Real people have to be seen exercising their right to peacefully assemble and say NO!
- NO to religious triumphalism
- NO to religious intolerance and inequality EVERYWHERE
- NO to violence, particularly religiously prescribed violence
- NO to mealy-mouthed expressions of loyalty to democractic principles

I think: "NATIONAL OPEN THE KORAN" Day would be catchier.
People are put off by DECLARATIONS ("FASCISM"), and also find "Islam" mainly distasteful. (So you've got a double-whammy against attending.)
Lure them in with a call to LEARN. Not opinion to echo.
And let women hear the contempt for them that issues like patronizing bile from the "Holy" Book of Islam.
Abd let all infidels get a clue about their fates under the declared intent of this Dark Age 'religion', should it become The Global Taliban.
We KNOW it's fascistic. (That's the less-dangerous aspect of Islam.)
Let's open the Koran's morally-suppurating interior to the broader public.
And let people debate their survival with Muslims.
Spiritually, intellectually, and literally.

religion of peas:
from what I recall reading about BG & B, isn't that where some of the fine citizens pelted Jewish WW II veterans assembled for a war memorial with garbage and hurled verbal abuse as well.
I would hate to imagine what they'd do to people assembled to protest fascism in its currently most virulent form.

Waterdragon, I know you were asking Religion of peas not me, but this is the link to the story you remember. It was the 60th anniversary of the Hughes Mansions Disaster, when 134 people, almost all Jewish, were killed by the last V2 missile to land on London.

I remember it particularly because my family are from Bethnal Green and I was very upset by this incident. My father, who was a fireman during the blitz, didn't work on the rescue of this particular bombing, but he would have known people who did. George Galloway denied that the group hurling the eggs were anything to do with him, but he would wouldn't he.

Cornelius must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. His pessimism on this thread calls for some uplifting words from the greatest 7 year college student of the modern era, Bluto Blutarsky.
"Over? Did you say the fight is over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain't over now! Cause when the going gets tough........ the tough get going."
So Cornelius, the next time you feel the need to bend over and say "Thank you Allah, may I have another", remember Bluto's creed.

The pessimistic sentiment of Cornelius is justified.
Our mission is not going to be effective unless we take intelligent measure of our obstacles. The biggest obstacle in our way is the PC mindset that dominates our Western culture, infecting millions of ordinary people.
Before we can do anything effective, we have to address this PC atmosphere: our very first front is this war of ideas against our own culture. If we don't start there, we will continue to be considered marginal flakes at best, dangerous "Islamophobes" at worst. And we will not get anything done if that continues.
How do we wage a war of ideas? First we have to create a clear, direct, simple, unified and rigorously substantiated Manifesto that expresses the problem + provisional solutions.
Then that Manifesto has to be effectively communicated. That takes unity, organization, and PR resources.
Nothing else will work unless we start with that step. I doubt you all are capable of organizing into sufficient unity and agreement to come up with a Manifesto. You all will continue to be Jihad Watching for another 4 years while no war of ideas is challenging the PC dominance that makes Jihad Watch, at best, something to laugh at by the majority.

Ironman;
I would like to informally assign you the position of Morale Officer. I've noticed that all of us here have our bad days, when the weight of what we face just kind of gets to you. You can tell when someone "hits the wall" because, if you are a regular visitor, you can immediately sense the change in tone from a commentors usual attitude. People here become that familiar to you. So in light of that, I would like you, when someone is in obvious despair, to jump up, give'm a knuckle-rub to the top of their head, and set them back on the path to victory with some of your well-chosen inspirational remarks. (You can't go wrong bringing up the Bulge. Remember "Balls!")
Regarding the rally, I for one am going to try like hell to be at the one scheduled for NYC. If any fellow Watchers plan on attending, look for me. I'm not sure just yet how you'll know it's me, but you'll know once you see me. Come up and introduce yourself and we'll go out for a beer afterwards.
at January 18, 2006 1:42 PM
I'll be at McDonald's at Main and Terminal at 7:00-9:00 on Jan. 26, Vancouver, Canada. I'll wear a blue scarf. I'll buy the coffee.
If you're afraid now, imagine how you'll feel in ten years.
Some of us here have some experience organizing meetings over the Net, setting up sites for making leaflets, and gathering the troops. We've been at this for almost two years. We had some successes. We then fall apart and try again.
I'll sit at McDonald's and wait for anyone who cares to join me to discuss more practical matters. I can't be everywhere at once, so you might think of sitting out in the open to find others like yourselves in your own home towns. There's a McDonald's nearly everywhere on Earth. It's simple. Sit with a blue scarf and meet your new friends. Think you'll be killed? What is that? When did sitting in McDonald's with a blue scarf become a problem? Stop worrying needlessly. Muslims are more likely to attack you on a commuter train than at McDonald's.

Thank you T-Ham; It's not hard to be a motivator when you believe in something. Stand for something. Americans of all walks of life have a whole lot to be uplifted about. We live in the Greatest country on the face of the planet. We are allowed to live as we feel within the law of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. If there is something wrong, be it within our borders or beyond, we can peacefully assemble to lift our voices!!! The rally against Islamic fascism is a prime example of the "Power of the People". The number is of no matter, just get the message out.
Islam is about as American as mayonaies on fries. Islam will kill freedom in our country and the free world at large. We can't afford to be down because of a sheep like society waitng to be told what to do and when to do it. We that frequent this website are difference makers. We are of the informed mass that must keep the faith and maintain the course. We are the light that political correctness fears. We are free thinkers. We read, we write, we blog. We are the scourge of the political left. The infidel dogs that Islamists hate. We're AMERICANS, with a capital "A". We're the freedom loving Europeans that have seen Islam at it's worst. And at it's best rioting in the streets of France burning cars, or blowing up trains in Spain, or buses in England. Or trying to suppress free expression in Denmark. We don't have to resort to such actions. Ours is the land of ideas. The exchange of opinions. Our economy has recovered from depression, world wars, and an ARAB oil embargo. The world looks to us for the latest invention or innovation in technology. Ours is the greatest system to live under. That why organizations like CAIR want to silence us. We make this country what it is. Not the President, not the Congressional politcians, and certainly not the mainstream media. "We the People"!!! Be it the doctor working in a lab towards a cure for cancer to the Marine, Army solder, sailor, or airman defending our country. We make America what it is. The most free country in the civilized world.
That is why the National Day against Islamic Fasicm will be sucessful. It's American!!! We have nothing to be down about. CAIR has to worry. If only a few people show up, if only one news outlet is present, we have won where CAIR can't, in the arena of ideas and opinion. Be of good cheer and let not your heart be troubled. Be careful for nothing, WE'RE AMERICANS!!!

Son of walker, you didn't mention whether you'd be there at 7.00 - 9.00 in the morning or in the evening.
Where is the rally being held in Australia?
The name Islamofascism is a good idea. As mentioned before, if it was a day against Islam, it would be seen as racist but since everyone recognizes that Islamic extremism is a problem, then the word Islamofascism is well chosen.

Good point about the time: I'll be there in the evening, given my work schedule.
I'm not organising anything here, just letting people know that I willing to meet with people. There's no reason not to. The scariest part of a meeting like this is not meeting crazed Islamic killers who'll try to behead us in a cheap diner-- it's the state of the coffee.
I'm going to be at McDonald's in the evening of the 26th. I'll find a blue scarf. I don't care what shade it is. Any guy like me who wears a scarf is going to stick out in a crowd no matter what colour the scarf is. Too much worrying here. The coffee is dreadful, but we'll live through it. Honest.
If you can't come from Australia to meet me, then go to McDonald's there and wear a blue scarf. There are lots of folks Down Under who want to meet up. You can do it in your own town because there is hardly a village on Earth that doesn't have a McDonald's. (Yuck.) It's simply too simple to screw up. The one I'll be at is near the subway station.
My worst fear from all of this is that I'll go broke having to pay for the coffee.

Ok, I'm up for the challenge.
I'll be at McDonalds in Sydney, Australia, on the 26th January as well. That will be Australia Day, and I assume that they will be open then.
I'll be at the McDonalds which is opposite the George St Cinemas, and right next to Planet Hollywood, and which is called Plaza Court. It's at 600 George St, just down from Town Hall. I'll be there between 7.00 and 9.00 pm in the evening.
I'll be wearing a light blue scarf.
See you there.

Dr pepper, yes we need and organization, a manifesto that can be posted in cities around the world and some way to organize this on a secure site.
Some of us on this site have contacts in the DHS, the military services and the government and an open participation would be impossible at this time.
Some of my effort, as I have stated in the past is to reach out to fellow coworkers who can influence government policy, to safe guard this we must maintain our identities hidden, for the moment
I will participate at the rallies in New York, but we must have a secure way to communicate a time and place to meet.
Ironman your words are inspirational, every revolution needs someone to push the others along.

Cornelius,
I don't think it matters if there are only a few people at the rally Against Islamo-Fascism.What's important is that there is a rally. Every movement has to start somewhere, most movements get their start with a few people taking a stand.Ten years ago there would not have been a rally to condemn Islamofascism as most were not aware of the threat.Unfortunately for Islam with each new outrage knowledge grows. I also doubt Islamofascists and their supporters are happy that any such rallies are taking place.

Challenge to Raleigh,NC JW/DW/LGF fans!!
I took the initiative to register at meetup.com and found out supposedly that there are 345+ people registered under LGF but nobody has scheduled a meetup ever.
As soon as I see 10 new people sign up in my 50 mile radius I'll pay the monthly fee to organize a meetup. It would help if you put a nickname that you've used in LGF/JW/DW so I can get a first level legit test.
BTW, I put in the zipcode for NYC and found a lot of registrants. I also challenge someone there to get on the stick and be an organizer.

Roxanne,
I appreciate your point.
Let me give you some backround to the rally I attended last year. Members of the media - mostly obscure publications along with the VOA - were getting impatient and began clamoring for the rally organizers to begin. The leader pleaded for time, insisting that busloads of people were on their way from all over the country.
He finally acquiesced and the rally began. No buses ever came. The only ones in attendence besides the press and the speakers themselves were a few passers-by who were there for reasons of curiosity and then would move on.
I myself went out of a sense of moral and social responsibility. The non-existent turn-out was so pathetic that instead of drawing attention to a valid enterprise, it just succeded in highlighting the complete absence of public awareness - much less support - of our cause.
It was the equivalent of throwing a party and having no one show up. You may call it a success that the party was even thrown. I call it a failure and a striking reminder that our cause is not even a blip on the radar of the general public.
The only other alternative is to hope that there is a growing silent majority that is aware of the issue but is not inclined towards public demonstrations. But this theory doesn't hold simply because if an issue resonates sufficiently, there will always be numbers to reflect as much.
NOBODY CAME.
I hope these rallies turn out differently. Like a fool, I'm thinking about attending the one in my state. Hope it's not a repeat of last year.

People; It becomes apparent that we have the drive and the willingness. Now we need to organize. Among us are the most creative minds in the free world. And we're all driven by one thing, FREEDOM!!! Those of us that have organizational skills, step up. Those of us that know finacing, come forward. Those of us that can rally and motivate the troops, speak up. This website is pregnant with a movement!!! Now it's up to us to birth it!!! Give it life!!! Trust me, the Islamofeces are watching this site. CAIR, SIC, and all of the other anti America organizations as well as the leftist. Count me in this movement!!! The National Organization Against Islamic Fascism. That has a nice ring to it!! And of course The International Organization Against Islamic Fascism. I'm very excited!!! Lets put Islam on the run. Lets put them on notice that the free thinking, freedom loving peoples of the world will not sit idle and let them take away our freedoms. Islam isn't even good for them!!! But if they want to live under Islamic law, good for them. But as for the free world, Nuts to Islam!!! Give me my rock&roll, my hot ham and cheese sandwich, my bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich, my McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's. Give me Mom's apple pie. Give me the broiled T bone steak. I want high cholestorol. I want my Bible. I want my Playboy magazines, Sports Illustrated, T.V. Guide. I want gas guzzeling SUVs. Why? Because I might feel the urge. I want to sunbathe on a Mediterranian beach, topless or nude, reading my Playboy!!! Or sit at home on a quiet evening with my family, watching a good television show or DVD. Or may be just study my Bible. Sit in on a good church service. None of these things allowed under Islam, I have a right to do. The freedom to disagree with another. No sharing of ideas and opinions. Silenced because the prophet, the imans, and Allah will be offended. "Nuts to That!!!'
We have the opportunity to put the screws to the Islamofascist, Islamofeces scum. The mainstream media, and the spinless politicians that are selling the whole free world to Islam without a fight!!! Lets show the uniformed men and women of the military that there is something that they are fighting for, FREEDOM!!! Lets organize and show the CAIR, SIC, and the willing leftist how we do business in a FREE downtown!!! God Bless America, and the entire Free World!!!

Ironman Hondo,
If you're willing to walk the walk as well as talk the talk, are you willing to go to your nearest McDonalds, on the 26th January, between 7.00 -9.00 pm in the evening, while wearing a blue scarf?
Hoping to hear from you.

Ironman, bravo! you have expressed this issue in the best way, not as an attack by us against them, they can live as they choose in their parts to the world, but as a statement of what we will lose if we let Islam take over the world.
You should expand it and give it a title.
What we will lose under Islam.
We need to organize peacefully, on a special site dedicated to action.
You are right if in the past things didn't jell. it was because the awareness level grows higher everyday.
I can tell you that I have awakened at least 1,000 people in the past year and the traffic on this site and the many many other sites is astonishing.
Whatever the turnout, it may be low because the work of organizing has just begun, but I will tell you this and it is directed at the traitors and terrorists at CAIR, Your days of working in the shadow to advance your agenda are over.
We are smart to you, We are smart to your hiding behind civil rights and using our good nature to your advantage.
To CAIR and any Islamist reading this, the great awaking about the Jihad on the
West has begun! You are seeming just the beginning.
You will lose!

Voltare; I'll be there. I won't have a blue scarf though. Just Ole Glory, and my Marine Corps colors. I don't have to walk the walk, I live it!!!
Let Freedom Ring!!! And May the Wings of Liberty Never lose a Feather!!!

Taking heart in the actions of the esteemed Son of Walker and Voltaire, I would like to hoist my own blue scarf as a rallying point for intelligent discourse, and um, the coffee.
I warn you though, living this close to the 7 or 8 million people who call the Metro NY area home, I am not offering to buy coffee for everyone. People think I'm crazy. I'm not. Well, maybe an apple pie.
I will be at the McDonald's on Rte 9w in West Haverstraw, NY at 12 noon if there are any that feel that they simply can't fit Vancouver or Sydney into their schedules on Jan 26th. I would like to have made the time more convenient for those who will be otherwise occupied, but my workday begins at 3:30.
Weighty matters and a light repast.

Raleigh,NC alert
Caroline,
Great to hear that you're in the RTP area. Instead of the meetup.com hassle I just started a Yahoo group for now.
Hopefully this link will work.
