Spencer on Fox this afternoon

I am scheduled to appear briefly on Fox News, the Tony Snow program, around 1:30PM EST this afternoon to discuss the Osama truce offer. These appearances are always brief and subject to cancellation, but that's the plan at this point anyway. The stagecoach will be here any minute to take me to their studios here in Secure Undisclosed Locationville.

I hope you strongly recommend to america to accept this truce. So the usa will no longer have to be afraid.

Dear Mr. DeLancey:

Not to put too fine a point on it, but you gotta be freakin' kidding me.

Mr. DeLancey, I think your troll skills need sharpening.

I wish you well with your appearance. I understand that Fox News is one of the overseas News agencies also carrying live coverage of the Thames Whale rescue this afternoon.

http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-13496367,00.html

I missed seeing this beautiful creature by about half an hour yesterday lunchtime when it swam past the office building where I used to work. I now work about 10 minutes walk inland. You are in good company but I do hope they give you an adequate time slot. You may think I'm mad, gone off at an even dafter tangent than usual, but I can see parallels between the effort against jihad and the efort to save this whale. Both are an endeavour to protect what is free and beautiful and worthwhile.

Are they on different channels?
It's dark here now, the barge is carrying on down the Thames towards Southend-on-Sea while the veterinary surgeons are waiting for results of the blood tests before making any further decision.
In which case go for Mr Spencer.

Yay! Good thing I woke up when I did. (Ah, Saturdays).

Now, considering other pressing news stories, will CAIR speak out on the whale in the Thames? ;)

I got the following quote off the internet...Yahoo to be precise:-

"We are the only people who have come from outside of Iraq to call for Jill's release and we are very hopeful they will hear our message on behalf of American Muslims," Nihad Awad, the group's executive director said at Baghdad International Airport. "Harming her will do (the kidnappers) no good at all. The only way is to release her."

"We are the only people..."? Campaigning for the Democratic liberal left a la Bill "I only pulled but did not inhale" Clinton are we?

Keep trying...one day you will grow up and realise islam is a dead horse:-)

The latest is that he is getting more tired and that it would be better to let him take his chance in the English Channel off North Kent (and there are reports of another larger whale, which may or may not be Mum, in the vicinity) rather than risk the stress of changing him (or her) onto a seagoing vessel which will take another 12 hours or so to get to the Atlantic coast of Cornwall.

Posted by: Granny Weatherwax [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 1:17 PM

Mr Delancey;

You're not even any good at what you think you're doing. The word "lame-ass" comes to mind.
Mind you, that's not directed at you, that would be a personal attack, which would be unseemly. Rather, the term is directed at your attempts at, um, exactly what was that an attempt at?

As a good faith gesture I would like to suggest that there are other websites far more appropriate for your sentiments, where you can flourish, prosper, have your "feelings validated", and work towards the betterment of humanity. We're otherwise preoccupied.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

We in America are not afraid!! You obviously don't know the heart and soul of the United States.

Unlike the United States, Canada is a weak nation that has little influence on the world stage. Who really cares what Canadians think?

That was a very good interview Robert. Have a great day!

Posted by: Truth [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 1:38 PM

Excellent as usual, Robert.

Fox kinda screwed up their caption at one point-- did anyone else notice that at the beginning of the interview, it read "Author and Islamist Scholar"? Clearly, that could be taken the wrong way.

Go JW!!!

Great job, Mr. Spencer.

I'm glad it went well and that you were not cancelled by breaking news.
If anyone gets access to another video clip I wuld be interested to watch it in due course.

The whale, not Robert S?

It will be really unfair if this whale dies, but George Galloway stays in the Big Brother house.

Let's tell it like it is:

Hudna. Hudna. Hudna.

We can't deal with these killers if we don't understand them.

Excellent appearance with Tony, Robert.

Keep up the good work.

Robert Delancey says: "I hope you strongly recommend to america to accept this truce. So the usa will no longer have to be afraid.

Bobbie, my boy, when I stopped laughing, I decided to catalog your advice right up there with other FAMOUS STATEMENTS such as:
(1) The check is in the mail. (2) Of Course I'll respect you in the morning. (3) I'm from the government and I'm here to help you. (4) Islam is a religion of peace.

Thank you so much from all us shiverin' scared-e-cats down here in Texas. Why, I've lauging so hard I almost dropped my gun.

Posted by: texan [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 2:39 PM

I'm sure that Robert has plenty of energy for the task.
As I was standing on Westminster Bridge yesterday looking towards Pimlico for the beastie (he went thataway ->) I did suggest that the sighting might really be Gruesome Georgie swimming back for an important vote.

Dear Granny,

I've decided to take my chances in the English Channel off North Kent.

See you there!

Unfortunately the whale has died.
It was a very long way from home and it was worthwhile trying to rescue it.
Which is the difference between us and the jihadis.
We try to save the innocent.
They destroy.

Posted by: Granny Weatherwax [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 2:50 PM

Mr Spencer
I was actually in Herne Bay on the North Kent coast last weekend. It's a lovely spot and my family and I would be delighted to meet you there.

:-)

Re. Delancey's comment.

I refuse to believe that a sober Canadian would write that. Must be so cold up there that they're using diesel generators to keep warm. Try to move exhaust outside, dude.

“I hope you strongly recommend to america to accept this truce. So the usa will no longer have to be afraid. Robert DeLancey from Canada”

If this DeLancey is not just a prankster, I'd say

DeLancey, from one Canadian to another, wake up and get educated before you make foolish comments like this. Islamists generally don’t offer a truce except as a ploy to buy time. Read the Islamic texts. And read the newspapers. We’re still on al-Qaeda’s list, got it? Do you want sharia? Besides, have you really thought through the moral implications as well as the probable consequences of accepting a “truce” from terrorists who slaughter women and children and then celebrate with glee?

“Unlike the United States, Canada is a weak nation that has little influence on the world stage. Who really cares what Canadians think?”

Johnathan, maybe you should care what Canadians think, given that our people are putting their lives on the line in Afghanistan as we speak, and have been doing so for the past 5 years.

Posted by: Archimedes [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 3:39 PM

"for the past 5 years."

4 years. But the fact remains, we're there.

Posted by: Archimedes [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 3:40 PM

Great work by Canadians in Afganistan Archmedes. Why don't we tell Robert DeLancey to stick to commenting about hockey. Either that, or get the puck out of here.

Posted by: GFB [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 4:35 PM

Too much violence in hockey-- probably not DeLancey's style. How 'bout curling?

Posted by: Shinoliite [TypeKey Profile Page] at January 21, 2006 4:50 PM

yes, DeLancey doesn't sound like a hockey man, that's for sure...but curling requires accuracy, and DeLancey seems to be deficient in that department.

In response to DeLancey's request, you should appear in al-Jazeera in Canada and tell them that the US will accept the truce.

After all, as Mohammed said, "War is deceit".
