Many things are wrong with that short phrase: In American English, it's exceedingly rare to say one is a "University student" (funky capitalization, too).

And, "Texas, US." Texas is pretty big. I suspect we all know where it is.

If he's really a college student in Texas, I pity whoever's teaching his remedial grammar/ESL (English as a Second Language) classes.

I hope someone's taking bets on how long The Call for Thought will last... unanswered. ;)

Javier better get busy; it's not just JihadWatch that's exposing his odious "religion." I've been listening to Neal Boortz this morning and he has been giving Islam and "moderate" muslims HELL! Mr. Boortz's arguments are flawless and he presented his case in a way that makes it impossible for anyone to refute him, but several muslim callers tried. Several non-muslim callers were very knowledgeable about Islam and well aware of its violent, intolerant nature, which is good. Boortz broadcasts out of Atlanta.

I have never heard a talk show host present the "infidel" side of this argument in a more lucid, forceful, convincing manner. I hope Bill Clinton and President Bush were listening. Hats off to Neal Boortz! We need much, much more of this type of informative, thought-provoking dialogue, instead of the usual apologetics and lies. I'm going to email Boortz and thank him for his forthright and honest approach to this very serious issue.

Unlike Islamists, Robert deals with specifics in describing the problems and offers details with traceable references to back things up - unlike Islam. The fact that *anyone* would have a problem with JihadWatch means we're all on to something big. Give it time, and you will see these "watch JihadWatch" type sites fail to show restraint - there will be the exaggerations, rage, "warnings", threats, etc. Islam's whole deception mechanism depends on blocking criticism of Islam. How convenient for Islam in the U.S. where "equal opportunity" laws have created a wedge for Islam to perpetuate it's parasitic nature.

I like your idea too. but thats seems hardly possible for 3 reasons.

1st. Even if we did leave and they left. Thats not going to stop them from hating us or even attacking us. Look at Palistine and Israel for example. Sharon with drew from the Gaza strip. Just a few short months later a suicide bomber blew himself up infront of a coffee shop in a busy town square in israel injuring some 25 people. They dont want American and Israeli influence removed from their territories they want it dead.

2nd. America has a bad habbit of invading and setting up military bases in countries that its not wanted in. Our own government has a long history of occupation. Until we can convince our government to stop militerising other countries were never going to leave. Did you now as we speak Mr. Bush is setting up permanent military bases in Iraq?

3rd. As a christian duty we are obligated to spread Gods word in a non violent way. Those people have no idea were they are headed and whos to say that they dont deserve the same chance that we got from Jesus to redeem ourselves. Theres gotta be a few good apples over there. even in a nation full of hate and oppression. Take Iran for example. The people of that nation are extremely close to renouncing they're own oppressive regime. They just need a little nudge.

All those posters were written by the same woman, (I assume it was a woman under the abaya - the men seemed to be using Yasser Arafat scarves to hid their miserable fizogs) BBC News 24 filmed her with a big pile of blank cards which she was filling in with a marker pen.

Even if they won't print the cartoons I hope those pictures are on the front of every paper in the British Isles tomorrow morning.
At the moment they are conspicuous by their absence on the BBC website. And Have Your Say is back to the old method of a few carefully selected comments with no recommendations. Obviously 1100 recommendations that the cartoons should be published and free speech upheld was all too much for them.

How do we do it?

The major hurdle comes in communicating with Muslims. How do we show Muslims that Islam is NOT a religion of peace and tolerance? How do we tell them that it is inhumane to treat women and non-Muslims as they do in Muslim countries? How do we show them that killing people is not the way of any good God? How do we tell them that they must change their whole culture to make it come into the 21st century? How do we show them that Muslims in the West enjoy the freedom and equality that are denied to non-Muslims in the Islamic world?

How do we do that when they won't even listen?

Our main problem in the west is to educate the vast majority of non-Muslims. Some reform-minded and moderate Muslims will listen. But to solve the various problems with radical Muslims within a democratic context, we need an educated majority of non-Muslims, and we still don't have that.

Who cares what the State Department says? The State Department's condemnation should be encouragement enough for the media in the U.S. to publish the cartoons. I heard that several U.S. papers have published them already, and many television stations have shown them. Government spokesmen have no choice but to express their shock and regrets over the cartoons. I'm sure the Europeans are worried about imminent civil war.
