Cartoon Rage (yes, if you're looking for the cartoons, you can find them at that link) saber rattling in Iraq.
"Cartoons: 'Cut them to pieces,'" from SA, with thanks to Kasia:
Cairo - The Islamic Army in Iraq, a key group in the insurgency fighting US-led and Iraqi forces, posted an internet statement on Sunday calling for gruesome violence against citizens of countries where caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad have been published...."We swear to God, if we catch one of their citizens in Iraq, we will cut him to pieces, to take revenge for prophet," said the statement on a site known for carrying militant content....
The Islamic Army statement said the cartoons were part of a "crusader's war under the leadership of America. ... Those who do not carry the weapons, carry a grudge".
The statement did not limit its threats to citizens, but also claimed that "all the interests belonging to the states that published these humiliating pictures are considered our targets".
Our response will be earth-shaking."
In an unusual twist, the terrorist organisation also called on Muslims to conduct an economic and political boycott of the countries where the cartoons were published.
"You can withdraw your money from their banks and investments and cut their life's blood, which is oil.
"You can stop travelling to their countries and not allow them to come to ours.
"The economic and political boycott is considered a great fight and a big Jihad (holy wary). It can destroy people."
The Islamic Army in Iraq is a major insurgent group with an ideology similar to that of al-Qaeda although it is believed to operate independently.

i hope to go that the Danish soldiers are getting beefed up with a bit of hardcore U.S. marine protection.
this is getting nasty. i'd bet that the price of a Danish soldiers head has suddenly jumped in price.

I wonder what would happen to the muslim countries if ALL the western countries just pulled out and boycotted the whole damn place. I wonder, could they live on oil since that's all those places have in the way of natural resources. This is getting beyond ridiculous - they're cartoons for pities sake, just like the cartoons we see everyday in Western newspapers.

Why are we still in Iraq? What conceivable good can the Infidel world derive from making things better for people in Iraq, and from preventing them from being at each other's throats?

I agree with these poor guys. They've been insulted. They should stop trading with us, stop visiting, why, even the ones who are here should just leave.
That would show us! What would we do if every muslim just left? A day without muslims. Why that would
just be awful, wouldn't it?

Denmark, and the other countries in NATO (as an act not merely of solidarity, but one required as a response to an attack on a fellow NATO member) should simply end all visas for all nationals of countries where support for attacks on Denmark has been observed, either in the statements of the government or its major institutions, including the press. Actual attacks need not have taken place -- support for such attacks elsewhere is enough.
Simply end all visas.
It will completely revolutionize the relations between the aggressive Islamic world and the largely appeasement-minded West.
Just do it. And watch how Muslims change their spots, quite quickly.
Or don't. It hardly matters. All the Arab and Muslim states have to offer is oil and gas, and they have to sell it. It's all they have. It is the only thing from their world that we require. And we get it the same way we get gasoline at the nearby gas station. We simply pay for it. We do not do the gas station owner any special favors. We need do no favors to Saudi Arabia, or Syria, or Iraq, or Iran, or any other Muslim nation. Nor need any European country appease, in any way, the Muslims in its midst. It is they who have to demonstrate their loyalty to the Infidel nation-state, and rather quickly if they intend to remain.

internment = concentration camps. for any European politician to propose that will be political suicide.
secondly internment means that muslim women who agree, in secret, with Ayaan Hirsi Ali, will be caught up in that.
thats not a good way to go.
no - the coming war will be a smart one. we'll have to use our heads and come up with new way of dealing with this, rather than the clumsy ways of our past.

There have been reports that the CartoonRage (tm) has been orchestrated, and that Iran is doing the orchestrating. If so, by burning foreign embassies and threatening to cut civilians into pieces and generally blow stuff up, they are ratcheting it up pretty quickly.
They are talking very loudly, and if they don't have a large stick to back it up, they will soon get their feelings hurt.
Why are they so aggressive (even for them) suddenly? One has to wonder if they have gotten further on their WMD development than the IAEA would have us believe.

Are there specific passages from the Koran, ahadtih, siras, or tarihk that the radical Muslims are citing as justification for their actions?
I am aware of ahadith that describe how Muhammad authorized the asassinations of antagonistic poets, but are such examples cited by radical Muslims? Are there scripture that moderate Muslims could cite in order to deligitimize the actions of the radical Muslims in this instance?

Who is it they're worshipping again?
1. Allah?
2. Mohammed?
3. Islam, and by extension, themselves as Muslims?
I'd say 2 and 3. Ironically, Allah seems to be the "third wheel" in all of this.

With each new video clip of the hateful muslims burning yet another flag or another country's embassy, I can't help but think, "Good Lord, just how stupid can these barbaric islamic bastards get?"
Their ignorance is SO overwhelming, it's simply difficult to comprehend - that in this day and age, ANYONE could be that retarded - but then, the ignorance of islam never ceases to amaze me… After all, they worship a murderous pedophile!
With each burned flag, with each burned embassy, with each beheaded innocent, with each murdered civilian, my hatred for islam and for every Goddamned muslim grows greater and greater until hatred itself becomes overwhelming.
You are the epitome of evil and are of (spit) utmost DISGUST to civilized people that want nothing more than to enjoy life, family, work and development of technology for the advancement of civilization and the free world.
Advancement of technology and the enrichment of civilization are anathema to islam…

How about just deportation/expulsion then?
"secondly internment means that muslim women who agree, in secret, with Ayaan Hirsi Ali, will be caught up in that."
That's too bad. But it's not a good enough reason to keep mohammadans here. It's like being held
hostage. If the women or men want to stay, they
should just abandon islam. Ali did.
"thats not a good way to go."
Actually, it is. I agree that the camps would
leave a bad taste, but we're talking internment for the purpose of deportation, not German style
killing camps.
I don't see why the West is required to commit suicide. The fundamental principle of all human
civilization the closest thing to "Natural Law",
is the principle of reciprocity, crudely described as "The Golden Rule", but much better
described by modern scientists as "Tit for Tat".
At this point, the mohammadans have run up a
really big tab, and deportation is mild payment
compared to the bill reciprocity would suggest!

"Dangerous Hypocrisy: World Reactions to the Danish Cartoons
by Roberta Seid, PhD and Roz Rothstein
Westerners are agonizing about whether the twelve Danish cartoons of Mohammed
showed unforgivable prejudice against Islam. Enraged Muslims in Europe, the
Middle East and Asia are rampaging in protest against the cartoons, demanding
apologies, boycotts, blood and even beheadings. But in all this, the real
outrage is overlooked: the sheer hypocrisy of these reactions.
These angry Muslims demand that the world honor Islamic symbols and
sensitivities, but adamantly refuse to grant the same to other religions. They
don’t just draw satirical cartoons or limit their insults to words and
discriminatory laws. They have intentionally and regularly desecrated and
destroyed religious icons, holy sites and houses of worship sacred to other
faiths. Yet the world, including progressive democracies whose core ideal is
tolerance, has remained silent about these assaults on other religions.
Why was there no effective protest when the Taliban destroyed pre-Islamic
masterpieces, including the almost 2000-year-old 165-foot statue of Buddha?
Where was the outrage when Muslims destroyed churches in Indonesia, Pakistan,
India, Thailand, Iraq and Sudan, and 175 Nigerian churches in 2004?[1] Where
was the indignation when armed Palestinian Muslim terrorists forced their way
into the Church of the Nativity in 2002 for 38 days and shot bullet holes in
the walls and used the pages of Christian holy books as toilet paper?[2] Why
was there no outcry when Palestinian Muslims repeatedly attacked Jewish holy
sites, such as Rachel’s Tomb, or when they destroyed Joseph’s Tomb, burned its
prayer books, Bibles and religious articles and converted the age-old Jewish
holy site into a mosque? Why was the world silent between 1948 and 1967 when
Jordanian Muslims destroyed all 57 of Jerusalem’s ancient Jewish temples,
libraries and yeshivas and used the sacred stones for urinals and sidewalks?
The world has been strangely silent, too, when Muslims have gone beyond
attacking holy symbols and have persecuted and murdered men, women and children
for the crime of not being Muslim. The Laskar Jihad movement of Indonesia has
killed 5,000 Christians and made a half-million of them homeless. In Egypt,
Copts are persecuted and dozens in el-Kusheh were killed in January 2000 alone.
Muslim youth rampaged in Nigeria in 2002 and killed 100 Christians and injured
200 others.[3]
How can Muslims demand that their sensibilities be respected when they assault
other religions and don’t even begin soul-searching to rethink their own
intolerance and religious prejudices? Why aren’t Western democracies
consistently denouncing this violent behavior? Is it because they have double
standards and believe Islam must be treated differently than Christianity,
Judaism, Buddhism and other religions? Is it because they have become so
secular that they see no reason to defend or protect the historic religions of
the West? Or is it because they are intimidated by the threats of violence
against them if they speak out? Do they fear they will share the fate of the
brutally murdered Theodore Van Gogh or the fate of Salman Rushdie who was
forced into hiding after a fatwa was issued that condemned his novel and called
for his execution.
But something far more profound and ominous has been exposed by the cartoon
incident. The radical Muslim message is clear: We can insult your religions. We
can desecrate and destroy your holy places and kill your co-religionists, but
you cannot do something as trivial as publishing satirical drawings of our
sacred symbols. Only our religion should be honored and respected. The world
must defer to our rules and sensitivities. If you violate them, we will erupt
in riots and violence and call for your deaths.
In short, the incident has laid bare radical Islam’s impassioned battle to
dominate the West and impose Islamist values and a radical Islamist world
order. They are trying to get us to respect Islam according to their rules not
through persuasion but through intimidation and violence. Those who do not obey
will be subject to a savagery and rage that radical Muslims will
unapologetically justify in the name of Allah and Mohammed. Anti-Western
governments like Iran and Syria and radical Islamists will cynically fan the
flames.
We are face-to-face not just with hypocrisy, but also with radical Islamists’
stark bid for religious dominance. Let us hope that democracies and moderate
Muslims have the clarity, self-confidence and strength to win this battle of
the 21st century.

I heard this on the radio this morning on my way to work - iran has come up with a solution to the Danish cartoons - hold their own cartoon contest to show the Holocaust. Now that is such a childish idea, sounds like something a bunch of four or five year olds would come up with (sorry to the 4 and 5 year old kids, I'm not insulting you). What will come after that? More animalistic antics like jumping up and down on burning flags (looking like a bunch of monkeys by the way) or jumping out of burning embassy windows?
Posted by: CelticCoyote
at February 7, 2006 9:46 AM
What is so surprising about the cartoon issue - is how upset Muslims have become. And that they see it as some big conspiracy against them.
They live in such isolation socially - just bathing the wounds of their own grievances - they can't see that the rest of the world thinks that they 'are' violent. And that this violence stems from the teachings or the permission given to them by the Prophet.
Isn't Bin Laden trying to emulate the Prophet?
Then let’s do the math:-
Bin Laden = Terrorist
Bin Laden = Prophet
Prophet = Terrorist
Then bomb in the turban or sword by the side, makes little difference.
Muslims who don’t support Bin Laden – must support the fact that the Prophet performed many violent acts, which Bin Laden has used as justification of his actions.

If I am not mistaken the American colloquism "what a cut-up" originated from speculation about what the Egyptian Muslim-theologian Qutb was doing in his spare time while in the United States. Note how similar the two words are phonetically: 'cut-up' and 'Qutb.'
Thus the term "cut-up" may well already imply something psychopathic.
