Internet Cartoon Jihad. From Computer Shopper, with thanks to Twostellas:
Gangs of pro-Muslim computer hackers have unleashed a withering cyber attack on Danish and Western websites in the past week, escalating their defacement barrage to coincide with dozens of violent street-level demonstrations across the Arab world in protest at the publication of a cartoon depiction of the Prophet Mohammed. The number of Danish websites alone - those carrying a '.dk' suffix - knocked offline in the past week numbered 578 between 30 January and 6 February, according to Zone-H.org, a cyber-crime observatory that tracks website defacements. Hundreds more websites of European, Israeli and American companies and private citizens have also been defaced during that period, with the vast majority occurring after the re-publication last week of the cartoons in European newspapers.
'The number is nearly doubling every day,' said Roberto Preatoni, the founder of Zone-H.org. A team of Zone-H technicians collect and verify reports of sabotaged Web sites from both victims and hackers. The number of attacked Web servers has been at record levels since the controversy reignited last week, Preatoni said.
'This is the largest ever attack directed against a single country, bigger than the Intifada, the Chinese-U.S. spy plane incident, and even the war in Iraq.'

If the "atomic cartoon cyber jihad" causes this site to go down a lot of people are going to be really pissed off and I'll be one of them.

The US must not relinquish control of one of the greatest weapons of our age: the internet. There is pressure on the US do so. The US must never give in. If we were to give control to others, imagine how much easier it would be for these Islamofachists to wage cyber war.

This would be Iran.
Any evidence that a State is behind a attack in the form of communication, or commerce is a act of war. This is recognized by individual countries, international law, and the UN.
And no I will not accept the comment that they do not know where the attacks are coming from. They know.

Hell's bells, these Islamofeces learned this from the universities in the United States and other western countries!!! "We the People" and citizens of the Free World, need to tell the politicians, liberal and conservative, to reject all visas from the Middle East until the "war on terror" is won by the good guys, (That's us) If not, then it's no telling what kind of damage these Islamofeces can and/or will do.
I agree with you once again Kafir, the United States can not lose the internet to the Islamofeces enemy. They know that they can't beat us on the field of combat. We can't let them have the internet. Not now or ever.
The internet is our "townhall" where we meet with each other and the world. It's our weapon against the Islamofeces enemy that would seek to divide and conquer us. To froce Islime on the Free World! "We the People" must not let this happen. There are many that rely on this website for the information that they just can't seem to get from the mainstream media. The truth about Islam is getting out to the masses in the world through this website. The Islamofeces know this thus this purposed attack.
They may win a war or two, but the truth will always win out. Be of good cheer my fellow freedom lovers and "let not your hearts be troubled. We will overcome this as well!!!...
God Bless America and the Free World!!!!

Doctor, I've experienced temporary problems accessing various blogs in the past few days. I think it's more likely due to increased traffic, with more and more people wanting to express their disgust at Islam's demands to suppress freedom of speech. Number of comments have doubled and tripled or more, at some blogs I view. And then, I'm sure many people living in cities and countries whose newspapers are too cowardly to publish the cartoons, are likely jamming the Net looking for them.
btw: LGF ok. In fact, there's a thread there talking about "Monster Traffic".
This Cartoon Rage is backfiring on Islam. Hacking websites is another sign of their incompatibility with our society and values.

We all need to rally around Denmark. So every body go out and by some Royal Dansk cookies at your local Wal-Mart or any other Danish product you come across. If the Muslim world wants to reject and boycott a fine slice of civilization, fine we will take it. Their loss will be our gain.

Denmark's record on the Lesser Jihad has not been good -- though the Rasmussen government should not be blamed. In other words, like other countries in Western Euroope, the Danes after the Six-Day War began to believe all that business about the just-invented "Palestinian" people, and the disguise of the Lesser Jihad as merely a "nationalist" enterprise suceptible of compromise.
Many in Western Europe forgot about the history of Israel, forgot the legal, moral, and historic claim, and bought the Arab line that all of the Middle East and North Africa was something called "the Arab world." While others, including non-Arab Muslims such as Berbers and Kurds, and non-Muslims, such as Copts and Maronites, also in the end suffered greatly from the Arab supremacist ideology within the Islamic supremacist ideology, it was Israel, and the claims of the Jews to their tiny land, that suffred the most.
No one bothered to look at the history of the Jews of the MIddle East, of what they endured in Yemen (as chattel slaves), in the mellahs of North Africa, as dhimmis everywhere. Everyone bought the line that the Jews were "from Europe" when today, a majority of the Jews in Israel are descended from those who never left the Middle East. Everyone forgot the real as opposed to the made-up demography of those Ottoman vilayets (and the separate sanjak of Jerusalem) that made up what was to become the territory assigned to the Mandate for Palestine.
Everyone forgot what that Mandate was all about, which was to create the conditions for the establishment of one place, in the vast area of North Africa and the Middle East, where the Jews could reconstitute themselves and have one place where Jewish refugess, from all over, could be certain to find haven. It did not seem wrong to Clemenceau, Lord Balfour, and all the others who represented the most advanced nations, who had freed the Arabs from the Turks, and who had thought, and rightly, that the Jews, the Kurds, the Armenians, and not only the Arabs, deserved states of their own. We know that the Kurdish state never was created; that the promises to the Armenians were not kept.
And even the promise to the Jews was not exactly kept by the British who were entrusted with the Mandate for Palestine. First, they unilaterally lopped off all of easter Palestine, and incorporated it into a country they hastily concocted, the Emirate of Transjordan, as a consolation prize to the Emir Abdullah, older brother of Feisal, he who was given Iraq, and whose sibling needed a consolation prize if he was not to meddle in Syria, and thus bring his sponsor, the British, into conflict with the French (who held the Mandate for Syria).
All of this should be studied. The past 30 years of steady anti-Israel propaganda, and virtual "Palestinianism" to which, alas, many in Denmark were not immune, should be undone. For the Lesser Jihad against Israel is only the first part, the part that seemed initially the doable part, but now can be seen as merely prefiguring the larger program that never was abandoned, for it was and remains central to Islam, but rather had fallen into desuetude because in the modern world the Muslims simply seemed too weak.
But the wherewithal to conduct the Greater JIhad, and not merely the Lesser Jihad against Israel, now exists. The trillions of dollars transfered to the Arab and Muslim nations by the oil-consuming nations, and the tens of millions of Muslim migrants so negligently and foolishly allowed into the Bilad al-kufr, the Lands of the Infidels, where they do not and cannot offer any real loyalty to the Infidel nation-state, precisely to the extent that they remain true Muslims, and finally, the new advances in technology (audiocassettes, videocassettes, satellite televsion, the Internet), which permit the dissemination of Muslim propaganda, the full texts of Qur'an and Sunnah, to every last village where pious humble villagers might once have been unaware, or at least not had dinned into them, the full menaing of Islam.
So now it is time for Infidels everywhere to study the tenets of Islam. Not merely to take the version of the Qur'an supplied by CAIR, but to read the Qur'an understanding that 20% of it is incomprehensible, understanding that some of it is a mishmash of pagan Arab, Christian, and Jewish stories and lore, imperfectly remembered or deliberately distorted, and that there are internal contradictions which are resolved, for Believers, by the doctrine of "nask" or abrogation, which always leads to harsher rather than softer views. They should learn that Sura 9, the most dangerous for Infidels (though Jihad verses can be found throughout the Qur'an, and hostility toward non-Muslims is similarly omnipresent, for the worldview of Islam is simply this: the world is divided between Believers and Infidels. In the struggle to sread Islam, and to insure that "Islam is to domiante and not to be dominated" almost anything goes, for as Muhammad said, "War is deception." And that includes the hudna, or truce, that may sometimes be entered into when Infidels are for the moment too strong to be conquered, but which must be broken by the Muslim side whenever they gain enough strengh to attack the Infidels. The model is not Grotius nor Vattel; no principle of "Pacta Sunt Servanda" (Treaties are to be observed) can be found in Islam. It is a Western idea. Rather, all treaties with Infidels are made to be broken, when the Muslim side feels it is strong enough. The model is Muhammad's Treaty of al-Hudaibiyyah, the treaty he made in 628 with the Meccans, to last for ten years, and which he broke, on a pretext (and Muslims crow about Muhammad's cunning use of this treaty) within 18 months.
Denmark, and the rest of the Infidel world, should turn away from its previous misunderstanding of the relentless Arab campaign against Israel. It is true that the Israelis themselves have, for understandable reasons, not been very good about articulating their own problem. What Israeli government wishes to explain the Islamic basis of Arab refusal to contemplate Israel's permanence, whatever its tiny size, whatever yielding of territory to which it has legal, moral, and historic title (or are the rules for winning territory through pushing back aggressors to apply everywhere, not least in Europe, but not to Israel, as the sole exception to the general rule)? They daren't do so, because during the Shah's reign, when Islam in Iran was de-emphasized (not explicitly, but implicitly), an alliance of interests was made, and mention of Islam would have made that impossible. So too were the hints, and hopes, of an Israeli alliance with Turkey, now a thing of the past (what with Erdogan riding high, and The Protocols selling so well, and that new Turkish movie, the most expensive one ever made, in its boffo release, the one which shows American soldiers as Nazis in Iraq, and a Jewish doctor who makes money selling organs ripped from the bodies of Arab Muslim prisoners tortured to death by those same American Nazi soldiers we hear so much about in Turkey these days).
With that in mind, it would have been impossibel for successive Israeli governments to express, or even allow itself to recognize, the grim truth: that the tenets of Islam are the source of Arab hatred for Israel, and that those tenets of Islam are immutable, and both Israel, and the rest of the Western world, should study those tenets, understand them, and come to some conclusions.
The exaggerated, nearly insensate attention given to "negotiations" (there are people, like the dismally dull Dennis Ross, whose entire lives have been spent on these "Arab-Israeli negotiations" which continue to miss the main point, and keep delaying the day of recognition, the fatal anagnorisis). All treaties between Musilms and Infidels are temporary treaties. They are all in the nature of a hudna, or truce, and have a limited life. They come to an end, or should, just as soon as the Muslim side feels strong enough to attack. But Israelis cannot face this. They cannot allow themselves to come to the bleak conclusion that not through treaties, but only through their own strength, that must both be overwhelming, but also seen to be overwhelming, can they keep the peace between themselves and Arab Muslims. It is not an impossible situation. The American government did not yield to the Soviet Union, and the impossible happened -- the Soviet Union collapsed, when enough of its own ruling class realized that on its own terms, Soviet Communism was a failure. It may take many decades, or a century, but the less the Infidel world props up, economically, diplomatically, intellectually, the Muslim world, the more likely it is that within that world there will be the recognition that the political, economic, social, and intellectual failures of the Muslim countries are the fault of Islam itself. Nothing should be done by the Infidels to delay that day of recognition.
And a good first step is not to allow Islam a victory anywhere. If it is permitted to continue the Lesser Jihad, with Israel continuing to be abandoned by those who should be, if they were better informed, its stout allies and supporters (for if nothing else, the refusal of Israel to yield to the Lesser Jihad against it continues to diverts time, money, and other Muslim resources that would otherwise be plowed into the Greater Jihad against the rest of the Infidel world.
The connection between the Lesser Jihad and the Greater Jihad will not be made by the Israelis. They are tongue-tied, for the reasons given above. And no Israeli leader dares set the bleak picture out, nor dares to describe the tenets of Islam and the history of Islamic conquest, turthfully.
But we who are not Israelis, and who have come to realize what a poor guide the government of Israel is when it comes to identifying the problem (not when it comes to military action, but when it comes to articulating the problem or in identifying the main instruments of Jihad, which of course vary from theatre to theatre), are freer to speak the truth.
And for the sake especially of the countries of Western Europe, where the Greater Jihad employs not military action (though the threat of terrorism, or the cowing of the indigenous Infidels by mob violenfe, is not far from the surface) but rather other instruments of Jihad to spread Islam -- Da'wa and demographic conquest.
The peoples of Western Europe are going to have to put aside their bland assumptions about tolerance, and diversity, and all the rest of it, and ask themselves whether or not they wish to preserve the legacy they inherited -- the legacy of the West -- and what they intend to do to protect that legacy. They need not march off to a world war. They need, in the first place, only to better inform themselves about the tenets, attitudes, atmospherics of Islam. They need to disabuse themselves of the idea that "integration" of Muslims is the answer, when on a large scale it will be almost impossible of achievement, and one will never know when those lessons in language and culture will be used not to support the local Infidels, but as weapons in the war to undercut and confuse them (as Tariq Ramadan's knowledge of French makes him a smoother taqiyya-and-tu-quoque spokesman). Just as the Americans in Iraq have put their hopes, so expensively and vainly, on something called "democracy," without taking into account Islam, so too many Europeans think that more jobs, more lessons in how to pick up girls less roughly, and so on will do the trick, without reaalizing that while Vientnamese, Hindus, Christians from the Congo, Bolivian Indians, Inuits, aborigines from Australia, can all integrate into Western societies, those who carry Islam in their head do not wish to integrate into Western societies, and accept that legacy, and those laws, customs, manners.
Why not?
Because "Islam is to dominate, and not to be dominated."
