No doubt the Palestinians would have dismantled this bomb factory anyway, since everyone knows they want peace, right? Right?
From Haaretz, with thanks to Twostellas:
An IDF force found a large bomb factory in the casbah area of the West Bank city of Nablus early on Tuesday, the third day of a broad IDF operation in the West Bank city and the neighboring Balata refugee camp. The location of the factory, which held dozens of kilograms of materials used in the production of explosives, was revealed during the questioning of Islamic Jihad and Fatah Al Aqsa Martyrs suspects arrested the day before in Balata, Army Radio reported.
The troops are bracing for rock-throwing and other unrest expected later in the day, the radio said.
"We got there with a relatively large force," said Haruv battalion commander Lt. Col. Arik. We located the 'laboratory,' finding explosives intended for the production of bombs."

I have not been giving the palis enough credit when I say they do not produce anything other than suicide bombers.I left out the bomb producing
and rocket making capabilities they have. For that I am sorry.

Hey, it was a fireworks factory. Need lots of fireworks to celebrate events such as 9-11, 3-11, 7-7 with more to come. Yabba Dabba Doo.

There are probably lots of other such 'laboratories'. I wonder if the terrorists call it that. Conjures up images of Egore and Frankenstiens monster.
This discovery is just another indicater of the obvious...these representatives of Allah have no peaceful intentions at all.

Who would have thought that Palestine would have a bomb factory???
Now that Israel has has the defense fence up they need to bulldoze a mile wide no man's land along the fence and defend it.

כל הכבוד לצה'ל
Our army can do a good job when the politicians let them. Operating in the kasbah is especially difficult as you can imagine. The army can do a good job, but the politicians are another matter.

Eliyahu - good luck to you and the IDF. It appears that big challenges are looming. Keep your powder dry.

McSeamus:
I'm not sure how much industry was actually involved on the part of the Palestinians.
I don't know if you've been following the "Saddam tapes", but it appears that prior to the invasion, Saddam had a stock of bombs and other banned materials that was 60% of the size of that of the US, purchased primarily from Russia, China and France, and the reason they were never found after the invasion is because the Russians sent in a clean-up team about 6 months or so before the invasion because they didn't want to be implicated. Materials were shipped off to Lebanon and Syria, so who knows what the provenance is of this cache.

Very interesting...I have not been following the "Saddam Tapes" closely,I need to get up to speed on them.So it looks like these may be high grade explosive materials produced in another country, which explains why the IDF was going after them so vigoriously. If the IDF knew before hand that the explosives were produced by the palis, they probably would have by-passed the lab and just waited for the explosives to be mishandled by the terrorists, killing two birds with one stone. Case in point would be the hamas rally of months back.
