Madrid, 10 March - Almost two years to the day since al-Qaeda linked bombers killed 191 passengers and injured almost 1,000 in devastating train bombings the Spanish capital on 11 March, 2004, it has emerged that the bombers had planned to carry out further attacks in Spain, according to disclosures published on Friday in the Spanish daily, ABC.A particuarly disturbing relevation in the ABC report is that other terrorist attacks were planned on Spanish soil. Investigators reportedly found details of planned attacks by the Madrid cell on the computer of one of the bombing suspects, Jamal Ahmidan, known as 'the Chinaman'. Among the cell's possible future targets were an English school in Madrid, and the Avila and Toledo synagogues, ABC reported.
Investigators found a kind of manual on how to organise a terrorist group that Ahmidan had downloaded onto his computer one week after the deadly attacks from an 'online al-Battar training camp' based in Saudi Arabia. The 'instructions' received by Ahmidan included how to form a terror command structure in a large city.
The manual contains information on the composition of an al-Qaeda cell. This needs to be made up of five groups: the leadership, information and logistics staff, operatives who carry out attacks, and financial officers. Only the leadership of a cell can know the objective of an attacks, according to the manual...

That must be a typo, they misspelled "I-r-a-n", since everyone knows that Shi'ite Iran is the "rogue-of-the-month", and therefore it must be full of Sunni Wahabbists, since all the "Islamic Experts" tell us that the few "radical religionists" are all Wahabbists. And Wahabbism, the state religion of Saudi Arabia, funded and enforced by the Saudi Royal Family, yes that Royal Family that GWB holds hands with in the Rose Garden, is not prevalent in Saudi Arabia, since they are part of the vast majority of peace-loving adherents of the Religion of Peace, and are our ally and staunch bulwark in the "fight against radical religionism" or whatever they call it these days.

Are you sure the title shouldn't read:
Madrid Train Bombers "Were Planning Further Attacks" -- but the sudden victory of Zapatero and the Socialists proved that further operations unnecessary...

In hindsight, wasn't it better that Spain ditched Iraq, most of the people there were against it from the start.

Of course they are planning more attacks, islamic rule (sharia) is not here yet...the koran commands islamic rule so when the results come close but no cigar they must "try, try and try again" until they can install the caliphate over the world.
Some of us in the civilized world do know what is actually going on in the mooslem world and we continue to wake up our fellow countrymen as to the mooslems true intent and people are waking up every day to this vile ideology.
Yes we know you plan more HAVOC all over the world and we probably can not stop all of it but we will never tire and we will never run, so as you continue your quest we will continue to seek an end to this that will not be much to you're liking.

Nice words Chuck. I am with you...
...except not all Muslems are bad. It is wrong to generalise about any group of people.

Of course they were planning more attacks - they're still hurting over their expulsion by the Catholic Kings. As well as having medieval minds, they harbour grievances about stuff that happened in the middle ages. How many more centuries will it take them to get over it?

You're right; they're not all "bad", they just want to take over the world, and kill or enslave anyone who won't convert.

Short answer: Never. They were expelled from Spain and France because they didn't belong there; they were invaders, just as they were, and remain, in Turkey, the Balkans, Eastern Europe, and Asia. They will never stop fighting us, so we must never stop fighting them.

bear in mind that Spain under Franco [starting 1936] had a pro-Arab, pro-Muslim policy. Franco even brought Moorish troops into Spain to help him fight his civil war against fellow Spaniards.
["lucharon contra los moros, rumbala rumbala rumbala... Ay Manuela"]
When a democratic monarchy took over Spain after Franco's death, ca. 1975, the pro-Arab, anti-Israel policy was continued. Spain did not officially recognize Israel until about 1988. Yet Arabs rewarded Spain on 3-11 as we saw.

Franco needed Arab countries help, but not military aid, he had enough with Hitler´s and Mussolini´s help. He needed them because the legitimated Spanish Goverment (by democratic election) was waiting in Mexico the end of II World War. They hoped that UN didn´t recognize Franco´s regime. With the votes of Arabian countries Franco was in power for 40 years. Franco had to paid a price: Spain didn´t recognize Israel until Spain became a member of EU.

It is highly likely that al-Qaeda and its murderous network of affiliate groups and isolated minions are planning more such attacks yet. These attacks could happen anywhere. Better keep those emergency medical kits and supplies on hand just encase.
