Moussaoui explains Islamic law

Buried deep in the story "A Terrorist's Grand Delusion" in the Washington Post is this:

He said Islam allows lying in three instances: in jihad, to bring reconciliation between Muslims, and in marriage, "if a wife asks her husband, `Am I beautiful?' and she is 60 years old."

Brinkema, 61, smiled.

Now we are told that Osama bin Laden and his ilk don't actually know anything about Islam. Very well. But then there is this hadith:

Humaid b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf reported that his mother Umm Kulthum daughter of 'Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait, and she was one amongst the first emigrants who pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him), as saying that she heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them). (Sahih Muslim book 32, no. 6303)

Let's see. Lying is permissible in battle and to reconcile husband and wife. Moussaoui accurately recounted this hadith. It is easy for Islamic apologists in the West to convince non-Muslims that men like him know nothing of Islam; it will be harder for them to convince their fellow Muslims of this.

And that renders all their learned analyses hollow.

Since islam is always in jihad, then lying is allowed all the time.

to bring reconciliation between muslims, like the sunnis telling the shia that the sunnis are not responsible for the bombings aganist the shia.

What a cult.

Please - let this man speak!! Every time Moussie opens his yap, he reveals more and more of the underbelly of Islam, and how twisted and evil it truly is. And to think that his attorneys didn't want him to take the stand. (I'm suddenly in the mood for a Snicker bar).

Watching Moussie raise is fist in triumph upon hearing the final tembling words of an airline stewardess before her plane crashed the tower, makes me believe that we need a special kind of punishment for this guy. I accept the assesment of his defense lawyer, that to sentence him to death will give him his wish of "being a martyr for Allah." Why not sentence him thus:

You are sentenced to death by electric chair.
Upon acknowledging your death after execution,
your body will be wrapped in pig skin and
buried in an undisclosed location.

This will revoke his claim to the 72 virgins and his communion with Allah and condemn him to an eternity in hell where he belongs.

Maybe I read the article to quick, as I only found two reasons for lying, according to mouse-saoui. One being "if a wife over 60 years old asks her husband if she is beautiful." Does this mean, if you are a 60 year old Woman, automatically, you are unattractive? If you're a 59 year old Woman, you must still be attractive? What a simpleton. If you are a 60 year old muslim Woman, what is the point of the burka? Can a muslim answer my questian?

I won't be surprised if Brinkema marries Moussaoui, and takes Shahada.

In Christianity lying is considered a grave sin. In the Bible we learn that mans fall from perfection was the result of a lie. The first lie ever told. The Bible also calls Satan the "father of the lie" as lying originated with him. In contrast, under Islam lying is allowed under almost any circumstance. A religion that approves of lying is fundamentally untrustworthy.

I'm willing to bet that the only part of Moussaoui's quote on permissible lying within Islam, that the press and the readers will sit up and take notice of or will remember is that lying is permissible between husband and wife when a 60 year old wife asks the question, "Am I beautiful?" That the small matter of lying being permissible within jihad is something most of the press and its short-attention span readers are likely to not even notice.

No disrespect meant, Roxane. Its just funny that something that looks so simple when written in plain English is such a difficult concept for so many people to grasp.

Don't forget about those young boys like pearls that never age.

So, it's OK to lie to another Muslim in the context of "reconciliation". Fascinating concept of what it means to reconcile. Sounds like the "give me up to ten years so I can regroup and destroy you" sort of reconciliation to me.

Any wonder why Ohmert is taking the line he is vis a vis borders?

Moussa oui... Moussa NON !

Very dangerous to wake up with the radio, in France... Twice, around 7 am, I was trapped. A woman barking... who happened to be Moussaoui's mum "My son he did nothing, my son they only took him because he is an Arab, it is discrimination ! " she was shouting, in the typical vindicative intonations of those people.

One does not feel like waking up and finally, one is late for the first activities of the day.

Visibly it did not go through the mind of this woman that her son was a mass murderer, and that maybe, she, who had educated him, should share a part of moral responsability (even tiny ?). Visibly, it did not cross her mind, either, that she could apologise to the other mums who have lost children in the attacks.

How indecent !

If Moussie is sentenced to death, we will hear some scandalised voices, in France. Always the same bizarre minds who systematically defend the criminals and ignore the victims. Transference ? Uncontrolled irrational anti American hatred ? Utter stupidity ? Secret Sadism ? Or a mix of everything ?

At the moment I am wondering: is France on the verge of a salvatory reaction or is it the end for this once great Nation ?
