Once again Hamas makes its ultimate intentions abundantly clear. But no doubt Western officials will continue to believe that what they really want is a negotiated two-state solution. From Israel Insider, with thanks to Report:
Palestinian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Zahar on Sunday reiterated Hamas' desire to eliminate Israel and replace it with an Islamic state. In an interview with the Chinese news agency, Xinhua, al-Zahar spoke about his "dream of hanging a huge map of the world on the wall at my Gaza home which does not show Israel on it."
"I hope that our dream of having an independent state on the entire territory of historical Palestine will be realized one day." This dream, he added, "will become real one day. I'm certain of this because there is no place for the state of Israel on this land."
In the interview, al-Zahar did not reject the possibility of Jews, Muslims and Christians living together under the sovereignty of a Muslim state, adding that the Palestinians never hated the Jews and that only the "Israeli occupation" was their enemy.
Jews, Muslims and Christians living together under the sovereignty of a Muslim state means that the Jews and Christians live as dhimmis.

Isn't that the map they use in Palestinian schools? Or do they need the proper map to teach little children where they will be suicide bombers one day?
The reason the 'stick them in boats' idea can't work is the same reason the politicians believe Palestinians really want a peaceful two-state solution: nobody believes that the average 'moderate' muslim can have such violent, unreasonable desires.

Precisely. What's there to dream? Those are the maps that are shown thoughout the Islamic empire.
Oh I get it. They recognize that what they show is fiction, and that they'd prefer to show the same maps as actual representations of facts on the ground.
And I dream of a Jewish Arabia, a Christian Syria, Mesopotamia, North Africa & Turkey, a Zoroastrian Persia, a Hindu Indian sub-continent and East Indies... Did I overlook anywhere?
In short, a world without Islam

Unfortunately, people tend to forget that tired old chestnut "it takes a village to raise a child" when it might place responsibility somewhere inconvenient. I don't recall Bill or Hillary or any of their libertine sycophants dropping that one at the feet of the Palis. For every oxygen-stealing, walking, mohammedan cruise missile that murders Israelis to get his or her islamic bus pass to Paradise, there are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends, "coworkers", teachers, clerics, politicians, etc, etc, that encourage this behavior.
Most Americans, indeed most non-mohammedans, seem to not realize that a "moderate" mohammedan in most cases is simply one that hasn't directly participated in a murder yet.In WWII, being a member of a flight deck crew on an aircraft carrier did not exempt one from being attacked, even though one did not actually drop the bombs.
It doesn't take a genius in counterinsurgency warfare to know that such activity requires the good graces of the local population. And yes, I realize that I'm preaching to the choir here

I propose a Palestinian homeland in Antarctica. The emperor penguins won't mind living as "protected persons" in an Islamic republic of Penguistine, and they look a bit like women in black burqas, to boot.
After the example of their new homeland, being covered by darkness only half the year is something the Palestinians can aspire to. And, it's technically a desert, it's inhospitable to dogs, and the weather requires everyone to be covered at all times. Perfect. So, enough of this silliness about Israel from Hamas.

Henry,
I like this. This is what I am trying to present, as eloquently as possible. Islam cannot stand in an open forum. Its backwardness, and the brutality of Muhammad, cannot be denied except by keeping the source material out of the eye of the public. The war on terror is in the end a conflict of ideas. We can fail to engage in it, which most of the infidel world is doing par excellence right now, but we can win because our ideas are the stronger.

War is Deception
The country was Israel, also the Kingdom of Israel, also the Kingdoms of Judah and Israel, and assorted Roman-created "kingdoms" and tetrarchies, and the general area was only named Palestina as an insult to the Jews after the Jewish successful but short-lived (3 years) revolt against the Roman Empire and reestablishment of the Jewish state under Jewish rule. The country is still Israel.

“…I was kicked off the main Catholic Chat room for saying this…
There is a good reason for it.
On his death bed, the last Pope advised his close associates to do everything to save Islam. When asked by the puzzled men for the reason of such an unusual request, he said: ”Remember! When they finished with Islam, they will start with you”.

Do you thing that JP2 really said that?
Does it matter?
If he didn't, the comment is an irrelevance. If he did, he was completely clueless - both about the nature of Islam and about which religion anti-clericalists would most like to see gone. The best one can say for the man is that he belonged to an era where the main threat to his world came from Communism, so that his political conceptions are now outdated. I doubt the current Pope thinks in the same way at all.
Above all, do not fall for the specious argument that ideologies (of any sort) are fundamentally theoretical errors and, therefore, easily corrected.
Here is a meditation on the nature of totalitarianism from one of the English-speaking world's sharpest living political philosophers. He's speaking to an audience in Poland, where they know a thing or two about such matters from personal experience.
If this essay can't innoculate you against the mistaken view that "the totalitarian temptation is a temptation in the realm of ideas", then I doubt anything can:

I love Mahmoud Zahar's I have a dream speech.
Notice the contrast to Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King:
"I have a dream where ...black and white ...will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood."
"I have a dream where...will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls and walk together as sisters and brothers."
"We will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands."
Mahmoud Zahar:
I [have] dream of a map without Israel.
[Jude rein]
[Booty for us]
I dream of a map without Israel.
Zahar probably heard the PA sermon last (i.e. every) Friday:
"We sent a plague upon the Jews from heaven..."
-- posted by God in Koran 2:59
"Allah’s Apostle said, ‘You Muslims will fight the Jews till some of them hide behind stones. The stones will betray them saying, 'O Abdullah (slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.' "
-- posted by Mohammed in Bukhari V4B52N176
"Just issue orders to kill every Jew in the country."
-- posted by Mohammed in Bukhari V1B1N6, impatient with the slow pace of Jew-slaughter.
It is not a by error or omission that Martin Luther King left out Moslems in "speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands." Martin Luther King had a low opinion of Islam and saw it as a divisive and malicious theology.

The 'holy' Koran is no more, and no less, spurious than all those exposed fraudulant documents (such as the Donation of Constantine) the Roman Catholic Church has used as her authority to build and justify temporal and spiritual power as a dominant wordly organism - the big sister and inspiration of gross universal Mohammedenism.
Where else do you think Mohammed(in the early 7th-century) got his ideas and practical techniques for eliminating all opposition, and his identical aspiration to dominate all mankind using the "serving God/Allah" ploy?
Sounds like you have inadvertently trodden on some embarassing corns at the Catholic Chat room, Henry. Don't stop there - look into the why's and wherefores - you will find dangerous and disturbing parallels.

"Notice the contrast to Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King"
It is the anti-thesis to some of the greatest men on Earth, such as Gandhi and Martin Luther King.
And what is more striking is the progress made within these two communities where peaceful revolution occurred. We can all see that things are not perfect in India or with the Black people of the United States. But what we do have is an India, which is making significant strides economically and fast gaining international respect for this and we have Black people in the US like Condi Rica, who are able to rise to some of the highest positions in that country – but if you look at the same period during the Palestinian history – and what has emerged is a ‘Rubble City’ - where even the babies are encouraged to hate and the gun reigns supreme on the streets. Here there is no such progress.
I have a dream – that these Palestinians will one day end this dream – of hatred and destruction – which is killing them - at their heart.

HaMal'akh and All,
The Romans applied the name Judea to all the land in Israel inhabited and/or ruled by Jews. That's why there was a Provincia Iudaea [province of Judea]. After the Bar Kokhba Revolt [132 CE - 135 CE, approx.], in fact the third major Jewish revolt against Rome, Emperor Hadrian changed the official name of Judea to Syria Palaestina.
Judea had included Samaria, much of the coastal plain, Galilee, the Golan, the northern Negev, Transjordan along the Jordan river, as well as the former kingdom of Judah, the southern kingdom in First Temple Times, which some scholars today call "Judea proper" in recognition that Roman Judea was much larger. Judea was the Roman and Greek name for the whole country of Israel [for what we call in Hebrew Erets Yisra'el] during the heyday of the Roman empire.

Pass it on,
It's not clear from your post whether or not you see the Arabs in Israel as being in a parallel position to the Blacks in the United States. In fact, while Islamic govts ruled Israel, the Jews were humiliated and exploited subjects as dhimmis [a class which also included native Christians]. So if there is a parallel between the situations in the Land of Israel and in the Old South of the USA, then the Jews [and to a lesser extent, native Christians] were in an inferior position to the Muslim/Arabs throughout the centuries, and hence were in a situation comparable to that of the Blacks in the US while jimcrow laws prevailed.

Eliyahu wrote:

Martin Luther King did. Despite all contemporary re- write of history Martin Luther King wrote concerning the Zionism and Jews and Israel:
". . . You declare, my friend, that you do not hate the Jews, you are merely 'anti-Zionist.' And I say, let the truth ring forth from the high mountain tops, let it echo through the valleys of God's green earth: When people criticize Zionism, they mean Jews--this is God's own truth.
"Antisemitism, the hatred of the Jewish people, has been and remains a blot on the soul of mankind. In this we are in full agreement. So know also this: anti-Zionist is inherently antisemitic, and ever will be so. "Why is this? You know that Zionism is nothing less than the dream and ideal of the Jewish people returning to live in their own land. The Jewish people, the Scriptures tell us, once enjoyed a flourishing Commonwealth in the Holy Land. From this they were expelled by the Roman tyrant, the same Romans who cruelly murdered Our Lord. Driven from their homeland, their nation in ashes, forced to wander the globe, the Jewish people time and again suffered the lash of whichever tyrant happened to rule over them. "The Negro people, my friend, know what it is to suffer the torment of tyranny under rulers not of our choosing. Our brothers in Africa have begged, pleaded, requested--DEMANDED the recognition and realization of our inborn right to live in peace under our own sovere ignty in our own country."
"How easy it should be, for anyone who holds dear this inalienable right of all mankind, to understand and support the right of the Jewish People to live in their ancient Land of Israel. All men of good will exult in the fulfillment of God's promise, that his People should return in joy to rebuild their plundered land. This is Zionism, nothing more, nothing less."

---------------
After 15 centuries of Hebrew tenure of the "Promised Land" the transient power and might of Rome demonstrated a violent local-scale 'parable', an enactment of Christ's 'end-time' world-encompassing prophecy - the future destruction of ALL 12 tribes of Israel at the hands of the gentiles in the 'last days'.
The culmination of the human story now approaches for us and the world we share, but this is obscure to most people. So, OK, just sticking with the known facts: a couple of questions you, Eliyahu, may be able to answer about what you've written above;
1) Other than by brutal and temporary military invasion and occupation of someone else's (God-given) territory, by what authority did the Romans "change the name" of the land and deprive the original inhabitants of their legal tenure?
2) Did the Hebrews, during their millenia-and-a-half tenure of the land, ever SHARE the land God gave them with Ishmael, the rejected first-born illegitimate son of Abraham, thereby giving Abraham's bastard child some right of inheritence?

Most men dream of being with a beautiful woman. Some dream of hitting the big one in the lottery. Some dream of shooting the last shot or scoring the touchdown that wins the big game or the championship.
Mahmoud Zahar's dream, a map without Israel.
Sick is as sick does!
Naseem, this is Hamas' mission. We now know where Hamas is headed for the next ten years. The plan and the cat is out of the bag! What have you got to say now? Another sad diatribe about how "This is not true Islam?" Or "They're not practicing true, peaceful Islam?" They've got the West Bank, the Gaza Strip! Israel is trying, against good judgement, to negotiate with the Palestinans. Give them more land. But yet, some Palestinian jihadist/Islamofeces/homicide bomber blows himself up in the midst of Israelis killing 4 inncents. Then Hamas justifies it instead of condemning the violent act. Where is the conscience? Where is the peace?
And is it still a good time to "convert" to Islime? The "religion of pieces."

David England, it is clear from Martin Luther King's very eloquent words that he viewed the JEWS as being in a somewhat parallel position to the Blacks' position in the United States historically. He did not view the Arabs as being in a parallel situation. Further, he was probably aware of Arab enslavement of Blacks, etc.
Vadar, it is not for me to justify Roman "authority" to change the official name of Israel from Judea to Syria Palaestina. However, their conquest of the Land was not temporary. After suppressing the Bar Kokhba uprising in 135 CE, their rule in Israel lasted until the Arab conquest approximately 500 years later. Of course, I consider the Byzantine Emnpire as a continuation of the Roman. The Arabs completed the conquest of Israel in the year 640 with the taking of the city of Caesarea.
Now, as to giving land to Ishmael. He inherited Arabia. Moreover, the Arab tribe of Amalek conquered Egypt and ruled there for a few hundred years. Josephus writes in Against Apion that the Hyksos who ruled Egypt so harshly were considered to have been Arabs by some authorities in his time.

Just as you say, Rome, and her Eastern off-spring, continued to dominate the region for several centuries, and also endorsed the corrupt and intolerant "Christianity" which trickled through to influence Mohammed so badly.
Velikovsky makes a very good case that the Hyksos were the pestilential Amu/Amelekites that invaded and ruled over Egypt throughout the period of the Judges, until Saul defeated them and enabled the restoration of the glorious XVIIIth dynasty, with all its notable references to earlier Hebrew scriptural, religious, poetic and philosophical precedents.
Back to my point - does the bastard son of Abraham have the right to usurp ANY PART of the legitimate inheritance of Isaac/Jacob - over, eg,Palestine (as the Romans re-named it), or Jerusalem, the city of David?
Of course not - historically, Jerusalem and the ancient land of Israel are nothing to do with Ishmael.

Eisenhund, thanks back.
Eliyahu, I didn't use the name Judea for a reason. I used the names I used for a reason. I really don't care what the Romans called Israel, except that they (the Romans) were a 500 lb gorilla. I don't care what the Greeks called Israel, or the Arabs call Israel. The Jews are a people, a religion and a nation. Israel is our land. Period. End of sentence.
It's kind of like MLK. I too noted the MLK similarity in Al Zahar's comments. My thought was that here goes another whopper. The Arabs are once again riding in on someone else's coattails, using a well-known item and distorting it. This time it was MLK's "dream" phrase. Other people--like David England--said it for me.
Oh, and I must actually provide this attribution myself. Homage to Esther Navarro and The Cadillacs.
