1938 Alert: "Iran Hits Milestone in Nuclear Technology," from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
"At this historic moment, with the blessings of God almighty and the efforts made by our scientists, I declare here that the laboratory- scale nuclear fuel cycle has been completed and young scientists produced enriched uranium needed to the degree for nuclear power plants Sunday," Ahmadinejad said."I formally declare that Iran has joined the club of nuclear countries," he told an audience that included top military commanders and clerics in the northwestern holy city of Mashhad. The crowd broke into cheers of "Allahu akbar!" or "God is great!" Some stood and thrust their fists in the air.

Now, I don't know the Arabic, or the 7th century Arabic, to be precise, but, isn't the literal translation "My God is greater than your God?"
This is an important question, now that these tiresome Persian children have nukes and all.

Knowing what we know to be the true nature of Islam, it is important for the West to open up a can of whupass and bomb these nuclear ambitions to Allah heaven.
Required: the genius and detailed planning and execution of nuclear and conventional strikes for about seven days.

You're right, and it must therefore follow that Stanley Kubrick was wrong with his first movie, you know the one with the irresponsible B-52 captain.
These moron Hollywood Hippie dudes are starting to get in our way, at this late date.
God bless the United States Air Force.

Why stop at 7 days? We should bomb them for 70 days and send them back to the stone ages. See how they like their nukes when they don't have water, electricity, oil, food, etc. for 70+ days.

dgene, it's going to take a lot more than seven days, because when the can of whoop-ass is opened up, it's going to spill all over the USA, Israel, LE, IZ, the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, and wherever else Iran has a branch operation set up, such as all throughout South America. Asia, I can't speak for. Oil prices will skyrocket, without a doubt, and economies the world over will feel Iran's pain. When those bunkers get blown to smithereens, the fight will be on, the divide between Islam and civilization will become a gaping chasm, and no amount of Eurabian dithering will postpone the consequences of humoring Islam.
Therefore, at the very least, I hope that whatever ops are planned are brutally, shockingly violent, force unleashed with such unbridled power that there can be no doubt of who will be left with piles of rubble when its over.

Maybe I should go out and get a couple o' them fancy rugs while they're still available. Might be a scarcity in the near future. Good investment opportunity.
Would be nice to get one of the flyin' ones I heard about.

Before we cleanse Iran, we need to round up all muslims in the U.S. They will definitely try to go jihad on our butts if we don't. Send all muslim students home and send all imams packing.
Inspect all muslim hideouts (homes) and mosques. Deny all incoming muslims entry into this country.
Be ready!! This is going to get nasty.

Sarcasm of the week.
How do you handle armed, militant, violent-speaking Islamists?
You "URGE" them.
Russia urges Iran to halt "dangerous activities"
It's going to take more than an "urging."

The only thing they enriched is their own imaginations. I think this is propaganda designed to scare us all into thinking it is too late to stop them. Call their bluff, bomb their butts and end this before they really do get the technology to build a bomb. I realize it will mean global war but it is coming, we all know it’s coming, I think we should start it on our terms. We will see a short outburst of terror here in the US but we have the resources to control our muslims. Europe is going to have a big problem unless their police forces shoot to kill something the French should have done during the riots. A violent people require a violent end, he who lives by the sword … We can prove to the world once and for all “Islam means peace” without radical muslims we will have more peace than this planet has ever seen. It will not end war or terrorism but it will drastically reduce it. Am I suggesting genocide? No, when this thing starts and entire islamic nations and regimes fall like the houses of cards they are, many muslims will finally be freed from islamic slavery. It is starting to look like an us or them scenario and I have picked my side. This has to be done muslim style, conquer them and erase all signs they were here, tear down all mosques and burn that evil book. Radical? Nah, I learned it from them. I saw something in a different book, do onto others …

It literally means "God is greater". In other words, whatever you can think of, they believe that Allah is greater than that. It is the Muslims' rallying cry. During debates, confrontations, demonstrations, etc, they like to do that to drown out the opponents' voice.

I have no problem with "my god is greater than your god."
The problem comes with "my god tells me to kill you if you don't convert or submit to my overlordship!"

Well now this idiot in Iran (or III) is going to give the US weapons designers a great proving ground for advanced targeting weapons. He must plan his military tactics around Blackhawk down like old Saddam did! I can't wait to see his smirk in the video of a targeting pod guiding a BLU-109 towards his bunker.

It literally means "God is greater".
Thank you. Thus spake the Koranic god, the putative god who emerged from Mohammed's twisted mind somewhere inside that cave on ugly Mt. Hirat, right from the top, and paying particular attention to latter half of line 7:
1:1 In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
1:2 Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds
1:3 Most Gracious, Most Merciful
1:4 Master of the Day of Doom
1:5 Thee (alone) we worship; Thee (alone) we ask for help
1:6 Show us the straight path
1:7 The path of those upon whom Thou hast bestowed favors. Not (the path) of those upon whom Thy wrath is brought down, nor of those who go astray
--- God's commandment in The Opening at Mecca, Arabia
Why did god refer to himself in the 3rd person? Or did Mo make this whole thing up.

I just listened to a radio show on Public Radio where the topic was originally the plan of the Bush administration to build a more accurate nuclear warhead, but it instead focused on a possible response to Iran.
One of the guests, I think it was Joseph Cirincione from the Carnegie Foundation for International Peace, warned how the U.S. had better not respond to Iran, because of our dependence on foreign oil, and because (I'll try my best to quote) "anyone following the development of the past few years in the Islamic world will know that we would be playing with fire. An attack on a conservative fundamentalist Islamic regime would arouse Muslim passions around the world. The administration is juggling daggers, and they need to be aware of that". The other guests murmured in solemn agreement.
The point being, I guess, that we need to allow the Islamic nations to continue arming themselves with WMD's because they are getting bolder and bolder in their provocations towards us. It just sounds like such a fatalistic and self-destructive policy. Do they really think that the threat is so great that we can no longer do anything about it?

There is a good chance that in attempting to assemble a bomb they will blow themselves up. Might be worth waiting for...or not.

Interesting data points to share with "unbeleivers" in the threat Iran poses:
* The US began Uranium enrichment in Sept 1944. Once up and running, the facility manufactured 100 grams per day of 10% Enriched Uranium.
* November of 1944: processing began on the next phase, which brought the 10% enrichment to the weapons-grade 90%.
* July 1945 - The first atomic weapon was ready for testing. It worked.
So, Iran formally announced they have begun the "10% enrichment" phase, using 100 tonnes of UraniumHexaflouride through 164 centrifuges. Thats a higher volume than the US-weapon of 45. About 1/1,000,000th the uranium volume could result in bomb-grade material. That would yeild 90,000 kilograms. 20kg is required for a low yeild weapon.
The US enrichment design was low-efficiency, with a high number of stages - several thousands. The Iranian design has significantly higher efficiency.
Today, Iran annouced it will move to a 3000 centrifuge process.
Chronology of atomic development:

This guy, ammadammadingdong, waited too long in the hormone line and there were no brains left in the brain line when he got there.
Not only does he not realize taunting the civilized world is going to get his words shoved down his throat and out the other end, but building and just having all this nuclear material in the worst earthquake zone in the WORLD, is beyond moronic.

If the M.E. would leave the civilize world out , they could just nuke it out between themselves and would get rid of a LOT of our problems.
Course, we'd have to deal with the fall out.

Maybe it's just my suspicious nature at work again, but does anyone else think that Ahmad might be lying through his teeth?
I didn't think that they would have enriched uranium for another year or two. Am I missing something?

President Ahmadinejad is a curious Leader, but on closer inspection it appears he is simply a mouth piece for a more insiduous band working behind him.
The Nuclear Program in Iran is made complex as the Iranian government has long been split between the clergy, which controls Iran's security and infrastructure, and president Ahmadinejad's office, which seems to have limited power.
The Iranian intelligence service. SAVAMA has very close ties to the Pakistani intelligence service and both exchange information on a regular basis.
A quote from experts with the French government, which has had an ongoing covert relationship with Iran, states, "Iran is on a course to produce a nuclear weapon within three years" (Aug 2003). This seems to lend credance that Irans' nuclear Program is much further along.
This is also confirmed by the fact that Pakistan's ingenious father of the first Islamic nuclear weapon, Abdul Qadeer Khan, has been on loan to Islamic clerics in Iran (since 2001) to aid in Iran's nuclear weapons program, and according to CIA sources, Khan has been seen repeatedly seen in Tehran over the last two years. (June 2003)
Noteworthy: The Dimona Nuclear Installation in Isreal is large but, according to the IAEA, the Iranian program may be on even a larger scale than the Dimona reactor. The Dimona installation has produced enough fissile material for hundreds of weapons.
It is also worthy to note that Saudi Arabi backed and financed the development of Pakistans Nuclear Weapons Program under Abdul Qadeer Khan, (French intelligence and CIA sources)
Isreal is right to be concerned, but I am sure they are paying closer attention to what the Cleris are saying than President Ahmadinejad (Mr Dinner Jacket).

President Ahmadinejad is merely a puppet, what is more important and dangerous are those behind his elevtion.
Specifically the Isrealis are watching Ali Khamenei the Supreme Leader as defined by the Iranian constitution.
The Supreme Leader is commander-in-chief of the armed forces and controls the Islamic Republic's military intelligence and security operations; he alone can declare war. He has the power to appoint and dismiss the head of the judiciary, the state radio and television networks, and the commander of the police and military force.
Exactly what is President Ahmadinejad's job ?
apparanetly the second most powerful, perhaps he organises the party lists.

The U.S. has about 10,000 nukes.
Iran may soon have 1.
Pakistan may have 20-50.
With these odds, waiting only decreases our chances.
Stalin played this same game, with none, for several years until his spies stole the knowledge and ended the possibility of ending Stalin's legacy of terror for another 40 years (1949- till 1989) and who knows how many millions more dead (East Germany, Hungary, Korea, Czechoslovakia, Viet Nam, Cambodia, etc. etc.).
When you have the power to change the equation and don't use it -while your growing-more-deadly-daily opponent is too weak to respond seriously- you are either delusional or a goddamned fool.
Especially knowing their ultimate aim: a global terror state.
The Time of the Pussyfooters must end.
What else is the Strategic Oil Reserve for?
