Iran Ready to Transfer Nuclear Know-How

Joining our "staunch ally in the war on terror," Pakistan, the Iranians also want to help spread the joy of the Islamic bomb. From AP:

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's top leader said Tuesday that Tehran is ready to transfer its nuclear technology to other countries. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made the comments in a meeting with visiting Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, who said last month that his impoverished, wartorn country was considering trying to create a nuclear program to generate electrical power.

"Iran's nuclear capability is one example of various scientific capabilities in the country. ... The Islamic Republic of Iran is prepared to transfer the experience, knowledge and technology of its scientists," Khamenei told al-Bashir at their meeting.

Al-Bashir congratulated Iran for its success in producing enriched uranium for the first time, saying the achievement was a "great success for the world of Islam."

"Iran's top leader said Tuesday that Tehran is ready to transfer its nuclear technology to other countries..."

I suppose Isreal is their first pick for the so-called transfer? Or is it the great satan?

no surprise here,at least they are being up front about selling nuclear technology to other Arab countries.I'm afraid the genie is out of the bottle.Imagine in about 15 years a nuclear armed Syria or God forbid nuclear armed Somalia and Sudan.
I don't think there is anything we can do to stop this now.

I'm interested by the choice of the word "transfer". Iran is not going to "assist" other countries to develop their own nuclear programs. They aren't going to "advise", "share", "oversee", or any of that small crap. They're just going to transfer, this "knowledge of their scientists".

Makes me suspect that all of this great knowledge of their scientist isn't so great, isn't knowledge, and isn't science. Iran has nuclear capabilities only because someone, undoubtedly for a huge price, transferred, it to them!

If someone were to steal their recipe, and these dorks had to start from the scratch, I think there would be a lot of red faces...

I wonder if thousands of years of progress will soon be pissed away by nuke-wielding Muslims while the West just sits by. Depressing.

A. Q. Khan steals nuclear secrets from Dutch and German labs, and then becomes the hero of Pakistan, far outshining Mohammed Ali Jinnah. He sells or sends information he has acquired to Iran, Libya, and North Korea. Now Iran, in turn, offers to distribute information about how to make nuclear weapons to Islamic states, groups, groupuscules, individuals. It doesn't matter if the regime is that of our "staunch ally" Saudi Arabia or "our closest ally in the region" Egypt (isn't some other country being overlooked in that phrase?), or "our long-time ally" Jordan or...That regime itself is a menace. Any regime that overturns the present regime will be a menace. Any Islamic groups, even more unpleasant than the regimes (if such were possible), whose members have sympathizers within the military or the civilian government, and who may be able to acquire such weaponry through those sympathizers, for their own use, or to be passed off to other groups, perhaps in Europe, perhaps in North America.

No. Sorry. Forget everything discussed in the paragraph above. It's too upsetting. And the best way to deal with things that are too upsetting is not to discuss them, not to recognize them, not to think them, and to believe that it can't possibly happen. Only crazy people imagine that such things are possible. So don't give it a thought. It was impolite of me even to raise such matters.

Months ago, we got to the point where European diplomats, used to all kinds of discouraging situations, effectively stormed out of the talks and informed their governments at home that there was absolutely no point in negotiating anything with the Mullahs, that they were calculatedly mendacious and deliberately treacherous. For some reason, the West's media did not really seem to understand the epochal significance of this. And now the Secretary of State seems to think that her own diplomats can do what completely baffled the emissaries of her allies. What on Earth does it take before the necessary war against Iran starts? Do we really want to see nuclear mushrooms over randomly-selected Western cities?

What are we waiting on?

Why would "transferring" nuclear technology from one "country" to another "be a great success for the world of Islam"?

Unless, of course, there is something about Islam that transcends the limited idea that the West has about "countries" and "religions"?

Doesn't this give the game away that Islam is really a globally-reaching military influence bloc, more on the lines of the 1920's "communist international" concept than the naive, old-fashioned sense that is played in the U.N., by Muslims, of mere nation-states?

Why would a religion promote the idea of an "Islamic Bomb"?

Did any country before them call their atomic achievement a "Christian Bomb" or "Hebrew Bomb" or "Hindu Bomb"?

What is it with Islam?

Maybe there's something in the Koran that would explain it to unwary lawmakers and politicians and journalists in the West?

But that might reveal some uncomfortable facts.

About the "perfect" life of the "prophet" Mohammad.

Or the "noble" faith of a billion plus people.

Wouldn't want that.

Too upsetting.

The question is not if President Bush will stop Iran, but only a question of when? T-minus 20 months and counting down!

Posted by: champ [TypeKey Profile Page] at April 25, 2006 11:58 AM

So, let me get this straight -- these countries can't even build windmills and dams but they want nuclear technology for "peaceful" purposes?

Get the big guns out. I can't stand much more of this lunacy.

Iran must be reverted to Persia, and the sooner we get on with it, the less it will cost in American lives.

Iran's top leader said Tuesday that Tehran is ready to transfer its nuclear technology to other countries. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made the comments in a meeting with visiting Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir

Omar al-Bashir took over the country in a coup 1989, which resulted in the democratically elected Government being ousted and all opposition being banned. Sharia law was imposed.

Sudan People's Liberation Army fighting from bases in the south have called for the restoration of teh democracy.

Omar al-Bashir is a dictator is currently being threatened with the deployment of international troops if he does not let humaniarian aid groups into the Dafur region to help in what is described as a catastrophe.

al-Bashir gave governmental support and money to Islamic militias, the Janjaweed who have been fighting the Sudan People's Liberation Army but these malitia have been accused of ethnic cleansing.

al-Bashir has continued to wage war against the south, buying arms and funding military operations with money gained from the sales of the country’s vast amount of oil.

Guess who al-Bashirhas purchased his weapons from
YES, China and Russia.

It is ironic that al-Bashir is meeting with the Iranian Leader at this time, I wonder what else he has on his shopping list ?
Missiles perhaps, Nuclear technology.

The sooner the international troops are deployed there the better.

There is 4000 pounds of radioactive dust still sitting in the open at Chernobyl! Russia cant find the millions of dollars the U.S. gave them to encase the stuff in cement. There are three more reactors full of nuclear fuel sitting there unguarded! This is how Russia handles its nuclear industry, and nuclear disasters. Now were gonna let them keep an eye on the Iranians uranium enrichment for us? NO F******G THANKS! Russia is washed up, we are doomed if we let them and China dictate our foreign policy!

Chernobyl is in the Ukraine.

While Russia and Ukraine are no longer the same, their attitude towards selling advanced weapons systems to rogue regimes is almost identical, except that Ukraine is constantly in denial.

Hmmm, all this talk reminds me of a certain chapter of the bible in Ezekiel,. although its quite a long read, it may be worth checking it out:

Gog and Allies Attack Israel

1 Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh,[a] Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. 4 I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. 5 Persia, Ethiopia,[b] and Libya[c] are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; 6 Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.
7 “Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them. 8 After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. 9 You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.”
10 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: 11 You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— 12 to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land. 13 Sheba, Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish, and all their young lions will say to you, ‘Have you come to take plunder? Have you gathered your army to take booty, to carry away silver and gold, to take away livestock and goods, to take great plunder?’”’
14 “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it? 15 Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. 16 You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” 17 Thus says the Lord GOD: “Are you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied for years in those days that I would bring you against them?
