One of Asia's most wanted fugitive terrorist leaders, Noordin Mohammed Top, has escaped an early morning raid by Indonesian police in a central Java town, but the police say they killed two other wanted militants.Malaysian-born Noordin Mohammed Top, believed to be one of the leaders in the regional terrorist network Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) was not in the safe house in the central Javenese town of Wonosobo when heavily armed police arrived Saturday before dawn.
Police officials said Noordin, who has escaped arrest several times in the past, frequented the house, and they thought they might have him this time. But they said he wasn't there.
National Police Chief General Sutanto said two JI suspects, Abdul Hadi and Jabir, were killed in the ensuing firefight, while another two suspected JI members were arrested.
Abdul Hadi and Jabir were thought to be JI explosives experts, and were suspected of involvement in the bombing of the Australian embassy in Jakarta in 2003...

You have to wonder why the Indonesian authorities even bother tracking down these murderers.
It's just another act to pretend the largest and most corrupt muslim country in the world is concerned about terrorism.
Bashir, the spiritual leader of JI who got a light sentence for his "alleged" involvement in the bombing of christian schools and other atrocities against the infidel, will soon be released to carry on business as usual.
Any Indonesian judge who would rightfully find him guilty would go home to find his family's throats slit.
The Bali bombers have yet to be executed if ever for the murders of foreign tourists.
Generals who ordered the butchering of East Timoreans were given a pat on the back despite being found guilty of the crimes.
But hey, those little Indonesian muslims do wonders to boost the profits of big multi national, multi billion dollar companies with their "hand full of rice a day" wages.
An Australian model caught with a few extasy pills in her bag after a night out screwing around with the sons of prominent Indonesian officials was released after wearing the table cloth to court and proclaiming she was a muslim.
After she was set free she threw the muslim garb in the garbage where it belongs and left the country wearing skimpy attire to the outrage of muslim leaders back in Australia.
In contrast, another Aussie girl was sentenced to 20 years for being found with a bag of marijuana at the airport.
Child prostitution is the name of the game in that discusting corrupt country and nobody blinks an eyelid......but then, in the muslim world, raping children is a way of life.
Good enough for the prophet, good enough for the beleivers.

Although it's by now quite impossible to care about Indonesians it's interesting to observe how they still seem to think WE care about them.

I'm not sure if this site, or that god awful mypetjawa thing, has the lowest quality of comments. If the site is to be taken seriously I'd recommend someone be employed to aggressively moderate the comments or just turn them off completely.

regarding your rebuttal of a previous post.
Indonesia IS the largest population Muslim country in the world. Any encyclopaedia or other source will tell you that. Fact.
An independant world study on corruption ran by a body such as the UN or some other widely acknowledged body found that Indonesia was THE most corrupt country in the world. Fact.
But you are right, there could be many reasons why the authorities are repeatedly shaving time off Bashir's sentence besides violent threats from his followers. Perhaps they are sympathetic to the violent Jemiah Islamia cause for instance.
It certainly isn't because he is not guilty as charged Otherwise why did the Indonesian court jail him in the first place ?
