These benighted misunderstanders of Islam were evidently foolish enough to think that when the Qur'an says to "strike the necks" of unbelievers (47:4; cf. also 8:12), that it actually means, "strike the necks" of the unbelievers. The fools! They've probably been listening to Islamophobic rhetoric, or watching "United 93"! Don't they realize that the Qur'an is a document of staggering complexity, and that it can only be properly understood by Saudi-funded American professors who spend years in concentrated study, enabling them to determine that "strike the necks" actually means "hug the necks"? You have to read it in the original Arabic, you see, and use your secret Qur'anic Arabic decoder ring, which likewise renders "beat her" (Qur'an 4:34) as "tell her how much you love her."
Schoolgirl jihad update. "Men admit beheading schoolgirls," from SA, with thanks to all who sent this in:
Jakarta - Seven suspected Islamic terrorists have confessed to beheading three Christian schoolgirls on Indonesia's Sulawesi Island, police said on Wednesday. The seven detained suspects confessed under questioning that they planned and carried out the October 29 beheadings in the Sulawesi town of Poso, police chief Lieutenant Colonel Rudi Sufahriadi told The Associated Press.
Another girl was wounded but spared by the assailants, he said.
Two of the suspects also say they have ties to Noordin Top, regarded as a key leader of the al-Qaeda-linked group Jemaah Islamiyah, according to Central Sulawesi police chief Brigadier General Oegroseno.
Indonesia has arrested scores of militants belonging to the al-Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiyah terror group in recent years.

I have said it before and I will say it again (I should have printed on a T-shirt):
"Imagine a world without islam"
Any idea what the punishment is for killing an infidel in Indonesia? 3 weeks in jail and a stern talking-to would be my guess.

'satan must love his followers.'
Love is not a word Satan understands; How about USES?

It's been this way ever since the noble and peaceful religion of islam was hijacked by the terrorist mohammud just a couple of millenia ago.

All that al-Qaeda training has finally paid off. It took only seven or more terrorists to capture and behead three schoolgirls. Thanks be to Allah the merciful for sparing the forth.

O.T.
New York Sun: Iran Declares War
President Ahmadinejad's letter to President Bush, widely interpreted as a peaceful overture, is in fact a declaration of war. The key sentence in the letter is the closing salutation. In an eight-page text of the letter being circulated by the Council on Foreign Relations, it is left untranslated and rendered as "Vasalam Ala Man Ataba'al hoda." What this means is "Peace only unto those who follow the true path."
... left untranslated.
Exactly why? And why has the rest of the press not noticed this and got a translation before?

MSM coverage of this inevitable incident has been overpowering in its silence. Good work, Tim. Way to go, Bill. And you, Brian, you weren't lying you are a real dirt track red-blooded American.
The central role our army of fake professors plays in this could learn from their "journalist" brethern and please shut the hell up until such time that you're ready to speak the truth, which ain't gonna happen cuz you've got tenure and intellectual cowardice in a nice neat package.
Not to mention the 6th Pillar of Islam.

The press is stealing from Robert's interpretations, I'd say. Or does the article credit him?
Posted by: Foehammer
at May 11, 2006 12:16 PM
They may be, although Robert specifically pointed to the paragraph in the letter beginning "Do you not think ...?" whereas this article sees the salutation as being the clincher.

May 11, 2006President Ahmadinejad's letter to President Bush, widely interpreted as a peaceful overture, is in fact a declaration of war. The key sentence in the letter is the closing salutation. In an eight-page text of the letter being circulated by the Council on Foreign Relations, it is left untranslated and rendered as "Vasalam Ala Man Ataba'al hoda." What this means is "Peace only unto those who follow the true path."
It is a phrase with historical significance in Islam, for, according to Islamic tradition, in year six of the Hejira - the late 620s - the prophet Mohammad sent letters to the Byzantine emperor and the Sassanid emperor telling them to convert to the true faith of Islam or be conquered. The letters included the same phrase that President Ahmadinejad used to conclude his letter to Mr. Bush. For Mohammad, the letters were a prelude to a Muslim offensive, a war launched for the purpose of imposing Islamic rule over infidels.
Much of the rest of Ahmadinejad's letter is devoted to portraying Mr. Bush as an infidel. Given that Mr. Bush is not about to convert to Islam, what the letter presages is, if anything, an Islamic attack. So the thing to think about is what this implies for American policymakers. For one thing, no step short of converting to Islam will avert the planned attack so long as the regime in Tehran remains in power. All the "carrots" that the doves in the American foreign policy establishment want to offer - abandoning Israel, offering Iran "security guarantees" and economic and political relations - fall short of what Iran's president demands. He demands that America "follow the true path," that is, convert to Islam. Short of that, America will not receive peace from the Iranian regime.
Mr. Bush has been clear that America wishes the Iranian people well and supports them in their quest for freedom from their clerical regime. He needs to do everything he can to help the Iranian people oust the regime in Tehran before the regime has a chance to launch its offensive against America. Such an offensive by Iran would be dangerous enough with conventional weapons; we certainly don't want to permit a nation that is about to attack us to have nuclear weapons. And our president would do us all a service by telling Americans about this Iranian declaration of war. When Al Qaeda issued its February 1998 fatwa, only a few Americans recognized its significance as a declaration of war. That took until September 11, 2001. This time around, let's not miss the warning.

They're just following the example of mohammed who bears responsibility for the beheading of hundreds of boys and men after the siege of Medina. Allah approved....it gets a mention in chapter 33 of mein kampf...ooops I mean the koran.
If you're reading this Robert, please make sure it gets a mention in your book about Mo. Too few know about it.

from islamic republic news agaency:Indonesia-Ahmadinejad-Bush
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Thursday that his letter to President George W. Bush did not concern the nuclear dossier, but rather was an invitation to Islam and the prophets culture.
He made the above remarks in reply to a reporter while attending press conference on his letter to President Bush in Jakarta in the afternoon of the third day of his stay in Jakarta.
Stressing that the letter was beyond the nuclear issue, the chief executive said that in principle, the country's nuclear case is not so significant to make him write a letter about it.
"We act according to laws and our activities are quite clear. We are rather intent on solving more fundamental global matters.
"The letter was an invitation to monotheism and justice, which are common to all divine prophets. If the call is responded positively, there will be no more problems to be solved," added the president

Does the "This is your brain on drugs" advertisements come to mind when you read and/or hear about Islam ruling the world? When you read and/or hear about the decapitation of men, women and children?
Allow a caliphate to take rule in the United States and North America?

In order to counter the MSM image of Islam why aren't we following the example of Poland and their martyr poster campaign. We need to get these messages and images of the true face of Islam out their on to the big four (ABC, NBC,CBS and FOX) run a few commercials during prime time showing what these people are doing and watch the outrage build.

Many scholars suggest Sufism as a peaceful alternate to Islamofascism. This is the view one finds in Sperry's book, as well as several things on Islam I've seen put out by the War College, etc. Wasn't al Ghazalli, the Sufi thinker and cleric, a proponent of violent jihad? I also remember reading something about Turkish Sufis taking an active part in the murder of the Armenians.
I'd like to see more on this if anyone can offer it to me.

The religion of depravity and atrocious behavior has struck again. Schoolgirls!! How brave these Islamic warriors...when not hiding behind children, they kill them...Allah must be very happy with them, but I dont think beheading schoolgirls qualifys for 72 virgins in Paradise.
Instead they should go and attack some well armed US Marines, get themselves killed , and then, MAYBE, Allah will let them in...

I am puzzled that the Indo-government is doing anything about this case at all. For decades, or more likely, centuries, they have been waging Jihad against the Christians and the 'polytheists' in Java and in the Islands. Most recently in Papua and in East Timor.
Are they trying to uphold some kind of civilized appearance in order to keep getting the Jiziya or what?

Robert Spencer is right, the only way we can stop this hate is to make sure every Muslim has a “secret Qur'anic Arabic decoder ring”. We spend billions to feed them, why not spend a few million on decoder rings?

Desertdawg, google Sheik Gilani, a salafi sufi who's an advisor to Osama, or go to thepolitics ofCP blog and read about his group, the muslims of the americas and their jihadi arm, al fuqra. Daniel Pearl was trying get an interview with the shadowy sheik in Pakistan when he was beheaded. The sufis talk about love and the beloved, but must abide by the koran and shariah law, if that gives you a clue.

Ah yes. They must have misunderstood the verses in the Quran that command Muslims to kill infidels, smite them on the neck, strike terror in them and fight until the whole world converts to Islam or pays the jizya in submission. A simple mistake.

Desert DawgN29:
The view that Sufism is a more peaceful form of Islam is hogwash, I'm afraid. Although Sufism may be marginally less violent, it is STILL violent and it is still Islam.
There is a historical account that during the Crusades (which were a defensive effort launched against Islamic incursions into Christian lands in the Middle East) 200 westerners were captured and beheaded in a single night by SUFI Muslims. The westerners were told to accept Islam or die. They opted for death and were beheaded by the Sufi Muslims. Not very peaceful, is it?
Chechnya is Sufi, I would add. Is Chechnya peaceful? Has it ever been? No on both counts. Chechnya is a hotbed of Islamic violence and always has been. Sufi re-interpretations of the Kuran have largely proven ineffective in curbing the inherently violent nature of Islamic ideology.
Sufi Muslims still use the same book that other Muslims use (the Kuran) as their political/religious constitution--and, for this reason they cannot escape the fate of the rest of the global Islamic empire: endless warfare, killing, violence, and mayhem.
Forget it.

The Indonesian government is playing at politics.
Yes it will arrest these evil men, try them and probably find them guilty,.... then after a short time they'll be let loose again on the public..........Indonesia hopes that just the act of putting them in prison will make the West turn their heads away and they won't see the release.
The leader of the Bali bombers got just over 2 years and then had his sentence reduced.
Indonesian govt. is corrupt and serves only islam.
They make noises to cover their dirty deeds. Become outraged when Australia gives asylum to people from indo/Papua etc.
They will massacre people in their region who do not conform. They run the same agenda as Iran and none of it bodes well for the world.

Well said, Marilyn et al. Sometimes I think that I might be too close to the real Islam (my profession, I guess) and that this leaves me "emotionally unstable". I would suggest that I just get exceedingly angry at:
1 The reality of what actually happens viz. that 6 or 7 "warriors for Allah" are cold-blooded enough to commit heinous crimes against barely post-pubescent school girls (thus following very closely in Mohammed's footsteps (and how he would have envied them!); and...
2 That the consequences of such heinous and utterly cowardly acts are even debated in a "court of law".
Yes, these "men" will walk away. They will be hailed as "heroes", as are those innumerable M..lem males who, in some parts of Europe (where the women are tall, blond-haired, blue-eyed and exceedingly pleasing to the eye), have driven the rate of rape (of infidel women) up by 1,000 % in a mere decade or so.
The problem is obvious. Islam does not accept the Western moral concept of "consequences". Everything seems to be filtered through the "will of Allah", who is apparently the first and the last word in all things... including rape, murder and "humiliation", of which he thoroughly approves providing you are not the right type of M..lem.
The question begs itself: How are M..lems to learn of real consequences without the discharge of the "errant" 50 megaton flash of light or two?
