Not too long ago I wasted a sunny Sunday afternoon answering some of my nuttier and more unhinged critics, but today it's raining here in Secure Undisclosed Locationville, and something just popped up in the Jihad Watch referrers list that makes all those people look sane. You see, my friends, I am part of the larger Jesuit plot to control the world, as is also, evidently, the entire Islamic religion -- although why the Jesuits would want to subsidize both the chryselephantine global jihad and my ultramicroscopic anti-jihad enterprise, I cannot fathom. And gee, my Jesuit checks are late in arriving.
This revelation comes from commenters at a site called "The Unhived Mind," which appears to be a bulletin board devoted to exposing the depredations and enormities of the "Jesuit Order also known as the Society of Jesus headed by the General Peter Hans Kolvenbach (The Black Pope & Most powerful man on the planet). All information is welcome exposing the Jesuits to the domination of planet Earth with its coalition of Masonic groups and organisations."
It appears that in this vast planetary control enterprise, I am a "Temporal Coadjutor" -- a term I have never heard before. Among the evidence that I am a tool of the Jesuits is that I have been a guest on "Jesuit-trained G. Gordon Liddy's radio show." There is a bit more of this twisted logic and a few loony links. Then there are the usual calumnies: "Spencer is a Jesuit Temporal Coadjutor fomenting hatred for all Muslims and his hateful rhetoric calls (when you read between the lines) for their eradication and genocide" -- oh yes, you must read very carefully between the lines, i.e., read your own fevered imaginings into what I am actually saying, because what I actually write doesn't come remotely close to anything like that. In reality, what I have said here since the beginning of this site still stands: "Any Muslim who renounces violent jihad and dhimmitude is welcome to join in our anti-jihadist efforts."
Can somebody fill me in -- is The Unhived Mind a joke? A parody of some kind? Or are our colleges and universities (one of these fellows says he attended a talk I gave at his college) now failing so abysmally to teach students to think critically that they fall prey to such overheated paranoia as this? If that's the case, woe betide us when we in the West are called upon to defend who we are and what we have achieved.

Robert,
After reading for a brief moment, I cannot for the life of me understand what this is all about. Is this organization a prelude to the release of the upcoming and much talked about movie, " The DaVinci Code"? It seems like that almost every few Sundays the nuts come out of the woodwork. Take care.

Mr Chavez, on a two-day trip to the UK, called for a socialist new world order and said nations were cowards for not standing up to the "American empire".
Moreover, Iran has said it would attack Israel, and I know they have the wherewithal to do so.
terrible escalation and I do not know where it would end and I do not know who would get out the first nuclear bomb or how many people would die. No-one would be safe from this madness." (a child could see)why cant the president of the united states? (reuters story) folks...a bomb on our troops in iraq is not out of the question.i pray for them.

Robert (or Seamus O'Reilly, if you prefer),
Luckily you seem to be only a small part of their fantasy world; they are all over the board from U.F.O.'s to flouride in the water to the Illuminati. Ted Kennedy is there, and the Pope, so you are in good company.
I guess this is the price to pay for becoming a public figure. David Letterman had a deranged woman claiming to be his wife who kept entering his house. Luckily they are only a few radicals, and the vast majority of moderates (no quotes necessary here) simply appreciate your writings.

The unhived (read: unhinged) mind appears to be a non-satirical small (55 users are the most ever logged in at one time this April) site dedicated to airing the semi-soiled laundry of crank science, crank political theory, crank global plots, and twisted crankcases in general.
For those too lazy for real research, or bored by the tedium of actual study, conspiracy theories offer simple sense to the tangled skein of events that all-too-often have no one meaning.
Or, when the accepted interpretation of events do not please the theorizer (because they are not dramatic enough) they will spin webs of evil manipulators pulling the strings of marionette history.
It gives comfort to some to think that what may be tohu-bohu really has some answer.
And an "answer" that no one else has is a strange kind of superiority and power.
The main impetus behind all such drives for "secret" knowledge.
Now I'm off to drink some of my own urine, sit in an orgone booth, and commune with the spirit of Annie Besant about the Italian Illuminati Jesuit Zionist plot to convert vanilla ice cream to spumoni.
As they say at the cabal:
"Dare pondus idonea fumo."
[Things fit to give weight to smoke.]

Well, there is an international conspiracy to put the world under the rule of a Jewish king. It's called Christianity.
And I am a member.

"Well, there is an international conspiracy to put the world under the rule of a Jewish king. It's called Christianity."
The big difference between Christian eschatopsychology and Islamic eschatopsychology may be seen, for example in this passage from John 18:36 --
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
To too many Muslims (likely the majority), their "kingdom" is, in fact, of this world, and they are enjoined by God to fight for it in every sense of the word "fight" (from the interior spiritual "struggle" right on up to full-blown military violence, and every shade in between).
(Note: to counterpose Luke 17:20-21 --
The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
Neither shall they say, Lo [it is] here! or, lo [it is] there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
-- with John 18:36, we see that in Christian eschatopsychology, the human psyche in fidelity to the attunement to transcendence is in what Eric Voegelin called the "metaxy" (in-between state or tension) between the two poles of the Eschaton:
1) the pleromatic final state of perfection which God intended for Creation which will come only at the End of History, not during History;
and
2) the "kingdom" within the soul (from the Greek basileia, which really means something like "kingship" or "royalty" -- a spiritual "royalty", of course, sharing in the anointed Messianic "royalty" of Jesus),
and in-between these two poles lies the vast, rich pageant of this life in history, wending its mysterious way from century to century, from millennia to millennia, and "only the Father knows" its End. This in-between realm of history in this life is precisely not to be transfigured, in time, by the Eschaton: it remains a vessel always imperfectly receiving the grace of the Eschaton, and this imperfect realization includes, for the Christian, political existence.
To the Muslim mind, however, history in this life and its political structures are precisely and enthusiastically and fanatically to be transfigured by the Eschaton, through imperialistic, supremacist conquest (no matter how long and how much clever patience that takes).

Television-
Another theory is that "God" is culmination of the Universe, not the origination. In essence, all Life is striving from an Unconscious God (to use Viktor Frankl's phrase -in a different sense) to a Conscious One.
OT-
Did you ever read the book "The Sunshine Soldiers"- the first place I can remember coming across a use of the word "Eschaton" in a popular format. (The title conflates a pair of Tom Paine phrases about the "summer soldier and the sunshine patriot".) A cogent and mordantly funny look at the transformation of a civilian into a soldier through the author's [archetypal] experiences in boot camp.

The Jesuits are an exhausted and declining, largely unorthodox order, and poor Kolvenbach (who has now resigned) was mostly busy managing their decline, closing down monasteries, transferring schools to other orders or to secular authorities, slimming down or merging whole provinces. I imagine that if they knew that someone, somewhere, still has the ancient conspiratorial image invented for them by Jansenists and Protestants, they might even feel quite flattered, like the old Jew in the joke frequently repeated in these columns: "When I read one of our papers, it's all about terrorism, economic crisis, decline, etc. etc. But read this 'National News': suddenly we control all of banking, all of Hollywood, most international businesses, can make Washington and Moscow dance to our tunes.... now there's news to make you feel important!"
