All-out war over Hirsi Ali in The Hague

In "All-out war in The Hague," Zacht Ei (thanks to Warren) reports that not everyone in Holland is willing to let Rita Verdonk get away with her high-tech lynching of Ayaan Hirsi Ali. This report was written before my post below, which gives Hirsi Ali's remarks at her press conference.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali's fellow members of the VVD free-market party are in an uproar. The normally hugely loyal Dutch VVD MP Bibi de Vries has said that 'if anything happens to AHA, her blood will be on the hands of members of my party'. Former party leader Van Aartsen appeared on television with his face looking like a freshly boiled lobster. European VVD MP's as well as Geert Dales, the VVD mayor of Leeuwarden, have condemned secretary Rita Verdonk's preliminary decision to revoke AHA's citizenship.

What will happen next?
• AHA will hold a press conference, which is starting right now.
• The political opposition is preparing a parliamentary condemnation of Verdonk's action. Such a condemnation will effectively end Rita Verdonk's tenure if it gets a majority.
• The condemnation may very well get that majority, because of the open revolt within the VVD. Also, the right-of-centre CDA party, which supports the current administration, has expressed doubts about Verdonk.
• If Verdonk has to go, then the entire Balkenende administration may have to resign, if it turns out that Balkenende was informed of Verdonk's decision.

Balkenende is already distancing himself from Verdonk. Read it all.

Incidentally, will anyone look into the TV program that started all the trouble? It stinks of Muslim money a mile off. Let us see these investigative journalists getting investigated.

Outstanding! There are still good people in Holland putting up a fight. There is still hope for them yet. I hope this situation kickstarts a badly needed debate on Islam.

Rita Verdonk, Secretary for Foreigners and Integration, annulled Hirsi Ali's passport.

You might want to send an email to Verdonk's party at:

Here is secretary Verdonk's website: http://www.justitie.nl/organisatie/verdonk_nl/

And here is the link to Hirsi Ali's press release:

The story is haunting: a valiant Hirsi Ali attacked by people who do not wish to be disturbed, when the danger they face is from those who endanger her.

Makes you think that the species is doomed; but then, a response!

Pray for the brave ones of the Enlightenment, may they convert or remove those

* Who endanger the rest

* Whose children or grandchildren are likely to endanger the rest

* Whose ancestors were forced to accept a violence-prone belief system that masquerades as holiness

First bit of good news I heard in DAYS. The Dutch sure are fighting good.

I did read that the journalist who made the program was Dutch Muslim. Surely there are those who know more about this; Muslims openly declare their intention to kill her, and other Muslims, and non-Muslims, openly try to discredit her, make her life uncomfortable, drive her out, like helpers in a group hunt that aims to take her life, snuff her out.

There should be an uproar not only about the death threats, but about the other, complicit forms of aggression. The existence of the jihadists, jihadist ideology, and her vulnerability, take this far beyond the bounds of acceptable political debate.

Instead, there in nothing; the Eurabian BBC cannnot write a word about this brave woman without evoking categories and political stereotypes, like 'controversial', 'right wing', and other adjectives designed to discredit, distance, dehumanize, like helpers on a farm of death, fattening and primping the bird for the slaughter.

Absolutely sickening.

This seemed an appropriate day to update my Map of Jihad:

On the other hand, Rita Verdonk seems to get tough on ilegal immigrants, more so than in any other country according to Wikipedia:

"Verdonk is called "Iron Rita", by people who oppose her policies, referencing Margaret Thatcher's nickname the "Iron Lady"."

"Verdonk has proposed the following plans:

* In order to reduce migration through marriage, she has proposed that partners of Dutch citizens are only allowed to immigrate into the Netherlands if the Dutch partner earns more than 130% of the minimum income.
* She refused to grant pardon to around 26,000 asylum seekers who lived in the Netherlands for over 5 years but who were not be granted asylum.
* To integrate migrants into the Dutch society, every person who wants to immigrate into the Netherlands must have passed an integration test. It tests knowledge of the Dutch language, political system and social conventions. The test must be taken before entering the Netherlands, preferably in a Dutch Embassy in the country of origin. "Oudkomers", migrants who have lived in the Netherlands for a long time, but are not "integrated", are also requested to take the exam. EU nationals, and nationals of various other western nations such as the US, are exempt from these policies."

"As a minister, Verdonk has proposed the following, without it becoming policy yet:

* In October 2005, Verdonk proposed a ban on Muslim women wearing the burqa in public places, on the grounds that the burqa, which covers the face, is a security risk since suicide bombers could use it as a disguise. She also cancelled a meeting with Dutch Muslim leaders when some of them would not shake hands with her, because she is a woman. She has said that "the time for cosy tea-drinking" Muslim groups had passed.
* In January 2006, Verdonk proposed the adoption of a national code of conduct, listing the most important conventions of Dutch society, to facilitate the integration of migrants. She was inspired by a similar initiative undertaken by the Rotterdam municipality.
* Upon receiving Dutch citizenship, immigrants would have to be able to sing the first stanza of the national anthem, the Wilhelmus."

That looks pretty ironclad to me Posted by: Infidel Pride [TypeKey Profile Page] at May 16, 2006 1:09 PM

Oops, I read that as 130% of the family income. My bad.

John James quotes Wikipedia regarding Verdonk's supposed toughness on immigration:

To integrate migrants into the Dutch society, every person who wants to immigrate into the Netherlands must have passed an integration test. It tests knowledge of the Dutch language, political system and social conventions. The test must be taken before entering the Netherlands, preferably in a Dutch Embassy in the country of origin.

Is this a reference to this silly story? This is hardly going to keep the jihadists out, it is just to placate the non-Muslims with the thought that something is being done.

The Dutch should demand that the same political authorities who found it necessary to expedite the case against AHA, by strictly applying the migrant laws against her, to forcefully address EACH and EVERY illegal resident currently inhabiting this jurisdiction with equal urgency.

Paolo,

Rarely would I agree more:

"...It stinks of Muslim money a mile off. Let us see these investigative journalists getting investigated..."

We have yet to find an investigative journalist who is willing to stick his neck out to investigate the Muhammedan mafia.

And Rita Verdonk of course, being the vindictive bitch that she is, who allowed herself to be a useful idiot, took the chance to get rid of her competition...
