The not-so-shocking details from the Jerusalem Post
Former Palestinian Authority chairman Yasser Arafat ordered millions of dollars, taken from international aid funds, tax money transferred by Israel and from Arab countries, to be used to purchase weapons and ammunition, it was revealed on WednesdayThese weapons were then provided to Palestinian terrorists from the Tanzim and al Aksa Martyrs' Brigades.
The information came from the interrogation of Fuad Shubaki, the Palestinian official who was arrested by the IDF two months ago in a raid on the Jericho prison where he was held together with the assassins of former tourism minister Rehavam Ze'evi. Prior to his imprisonment, Shubaki served as the finance chief in the Palestinian security forces.
Shubaki estimated that some $7-10 million were used every two years to purchase arms for the Gaza Strip, and another $2 million were used to fund the West Bank weapons, the Prime Minister's Office said. He added that when money was in short supply, then weapons purchases would be reduced.
He revealed that several senior Palestinian officials were involved in the allocation of the money to military purposes. Among them were, Jibril Rajoub, Amin al-Hindi, Rashid Abu Shabak and Ghazi Jibali, who all received payments for their part in the weapons purchases...

Yeah, no surprise.
So the last time I checked weapons in a International refugee area are still a violation of International law. Will the UN be issuing a Condemnation with the release of this information. Don't hold your breath. Instead the UN will be upset that Israel got the information.
But I still ask "Where are the billions from Arafats estate?". The UN should reverse his estate to the Palestinian (they dont exist) people.

"...estimated that some $7-10 million were used every two years to purchase arms for the Gaza Strip, and another $2 million were used to fund the West Bank weapons..."
-- from the article above
What nonsense. Ten times that, or more. Then there was the money that paid for the dozen different police and "security" services. Yet there was still some left over for Abbas and Erekat to pocket, once Arafat had taken his billions.
And where are those missing billions, and why does no Infidel would-be donor, champing at the bit to be allowed to keep paying that Jizyah, ever find out about that money, the way, for example, missiong oil funds have been tracked to the bank accounts of the former Nigerlan leader Sami Abacha? Okay for black Africans, but the "Palestinians" are always to remain untouchable, uninvestigated, unexamined?

Just a one word response for that one...
DUH?
Why do you think Arafathead's wife was living in Luxury in GAY Parie the whole time socking away the millions he funneled off from foreign aid...
Hope he's having fun in hell without those tantalizing virgins.
at May 17, 2006 2:36 PM
Some enterprising IT?banking/legal person(s) could probably trace those funds. I guess that some have already tried or are working on it.
Suha's millions (or more)are part of it. Considering Arabs, it's probably not a complex set of interchanges, just a confusing one.
One tactic that has worked before is that an American could sue (hey, sue Arafat's estate; sue Hamas; sue the PLO) based on charitable funds going to Israel and then being distributed to the "Palis"...these fuunds could be traced through the discovery process.

What? Arafat was using the money donated to the PA to buy weapons? I'm shocked, I tell you, shocked! Good thing the Palestinians elected the honest, uncorruptible Hamas to run their affairs, eh?
(end sarcasm)
Seriously, should anyone even be surprised? Only the dhimmis and other such people who believe in fairy tales should be shocked.

OT ---
World faiths call conversion basic religious right
Is this a gauntlet being thrown at the feet of all Islamic countries with national policies disagreeing with "the basic religious right of conversion"?
The meeting was sponsored on the Vatican side by the Pontifical Council for Inter-religious Dialogue and the thrust of the statement was in line with recent calls by the Vatican and other Christian bodies for better treatment for non-Muslims in Islamic countries.Posted by: yadayadaPope Benedict on Monday told a Vatican conference on immigration to and from Islamic states that Christian minorities in those countries should enjoy reciprocity -- or the same rights Muslims generally have in Western countries.
Vatican officials, leaders of other Christian and non- Christian faiths as well as atheists and humanists, say limits on non-Muslims in Islamic countries are far harsher than any restrictions imposed in the West that Muslims decry.
Saudi Arabia bans public expression of non-Muslim religions, and sometimes arrests Christians for worshipping privately, while Pakistan's Islamic laws deprive local Christians of basic rights although churches can function.
In Iran and some other Muslim countries, converts to other religions or to humanism -- like controversial Dutch Somali-born politician Ayaan Hirsi Ali -- are condemned as "apostates" and can be executed if they refuse to repent.
In Afghanistan, Islamic clerics in March condemned Western pressure for the release of man who had been jailed after converting to Christianity and said he should have been executed for abandoning Islam.
at May 17, 2006 3:14 PM
Yes, and this is why we don't need to be giving money or humanitarian aid to the Pali's. They will do the very same thing. These people are innately dishonest and care only of advancing their own agenda.
As long as these people are well fed and well armed, they will never listen to reason. People who have children just to use them to blow up innocent people , do not deserve aid. They deserve a jail cell.

MP, when Israel went on the Defensive Wall campaign in the Spring of 2002, the army found huge stocks of weapons, mostly rifles, submachine guns, and machine guns, plus ammunition. It was estimated at the time that these weapons were about 5 or 10% of those in the hands of the palestinian authority.
What this revelation should do, ought to do, is to bring the EU "peace" mongers to understand that any money given to the palestinian authority will go to weapons purchases, funding terrorists [salaries, death benefits, etc.], and so on, at least in part, since money is fungible. So if the EU continues to fund the PA, then it consciously and wittingly finances terrorism, mass murder, and the indoctrination for terrorism and Judeophobia perpetrated by the PA's mosques, schools, TV, radio and newspapers.

Those were not weapons. They were communications network diagnostic and repair instruments.
From ABC news earlier this week:
"Earlier on Tuesday, 20 Palestinian gunmen, angry after their phones stopped working, stormed the Gaza offices of mobile telephone company Jawwal, one of the biggest Palestinian commercial enterprises. Jawwal said the gunmen forced employees to leave at gunpoint and then started firing into the building, damaging computers and furniture."
There, that ought to do it! What? Damn phones still won't work? Hand me that RPG!

"Arafat used foreign aid to buy weapons"
Now fancy that. Will our dhimmi Western governments and the PC eejits who run and advise them be man enough to accept responsibility for the deaths of the victims of these aid payments to Arafat. Will any Archbishop be brave enough to admit that giving money to Muslims is merely financing the mass slaughter of infidels? Will they study and take in the wise words of Winston Churchill, John Quincy Adams, John Wesley, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen and a hundred others whose wisdom and knowledge of Islam far outstripped the dhimmified and apologetic Karen Armstrongs and John Espositos of this world. Yes, Western aid is being used to murder innocent Israelis and anyone else who has the misfortune to be in the vicinity of suicide bombers or Qassam rockets. When you give aid to ANY Muslim country, you're only financing death and destruction on a massive scale - possibly your own and those of your fellow countrymen. The time is long overdue to stop subsidising mass murder, and stop paying jizya to these ungratefuls, because paying jizya is far worse than merely being a waste of money - it is a proven killer, and 14 centuries of civilizational destruction, rape, pillage and murder on an epic scale bear witness to this. How many Holocausts have Muslims presided over during this period? Probably hundreds. Nothing worthwhile will ever come out of any money you give, because Islam contributes nothing worthwhile to the advancement of the human race. It is pure distillate of 8th century barbarianism and savagery. That is why I never give so much as a brass farthing to aid charities for Islamic countries. I don't want to shoulder any burden of guilt when innocent infidels get murdered by these barbaric sadists.

Not even close. Every palestinian household has at least one AK-47. Indeed, at weddings or other celebratory occasions, it is customary for the men to bring their machine guns and fire into the air. Even the children get to use the machine guns. This kid was just celebrating the fall of the twin towers.
How many American househoulds, per capita, have sub machine guns? Americans that do have guns have small arms and/or hunting rifles. Palestinians have Ak-47s and RPGs thanks to our friends the Russians who armed the entire third world.

Jeeeeeeez such negativity. True enough they have guns. Equally true, they are horrible shots. Think positive, I do. I’ll put my money on the truck driving, tobacco chewing, denim wearing good old boy any day. It’s not the number of rounds or the speed at which they exit the weapon that counts; it’s the stopping point. Almost any caliber will penetrate even the hardest muslim head. Fear not, buy any weapon you can safely control, print a picture of old bin laden or a Danish cartoon caricature of old mo with his bomb on his head and blast away. Just get ready, practice, practice, and practice. On a super positive note: The biggest single killer of muslims world wide is other muslims. Think about that for a second. I don’t know about you but It makes me feel real good.

last time i heard, the french Authorities had promised they would persue her for tax evasion on these revenues.
That was two years ago. Has anything happened?
does Suha have evdidence of french government past activites that prevent them from prosecuting her?

another reason islam is not the god of the bible.islam claims ishmael was a prophet.mahmoud even named him in the letter to bush..read a part of psalm 83....... God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those WHO HATE YOU have raised their heads. They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. They say, ‘Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!’ For they conspire with one accord; AGAINST YOU they make a covenant - the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; Asshur also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot.....(the bible claims these people hate god)by the way trace these people thru history...the enemy israel faces today!!

In the past a country that had no income and few jobs would be absorbed into a nearby stronger country. How can they continue to think they are an independant country when they have no income? If they don't want to be part of Israel, then be part of Egypt or Jordan. This conflict is being subsidized. It should have ended long ago. Instead it is dragging out - forever.
If they want to be a country they need to FUNCTION on their own.

Given these difficulties, it's not surprising that an old idea has once again begun to resurface. Publicly and privately, many in the West are pushing for face-to-face nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington. Even Iran's hard-line president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, got in on the act last week with a long-winded letter to President Bush, an effort "to discuss" what he considered "some of the contradictions and questions" at play.

THIS IS DEAD ON.......Rather than a source of entertainment, I consider Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be the most intelligent and dangerous foe the US faces. Not the Mullahs who currently hold power in Iran, and whose machinations put him in office. My reasons for concern about Ahmadinejad are based on the character and deportment of the man himself, his religious beliefs, and the “true” recipient of the letter ostensibly written to Bush. The common US media portrayal of Ahmadinejad as a grandiose bumpkin and the letter as mere rambling is a dangerous mistake. I would remind those making such assessments that Hitler appeared ridiculous for a long time, a skinny little man with a toothbrush moustache and a look of perpetual constipation. Idi Amin was also considered a buffoon, a late night comic’s easy joke. Ask the dead how funny these men are.

Can we forward and or fax this statement to every Western country that has given these monsters money!

at May 17, 2006 9:56 PM
The president is in an effort of giving himself an important impression. He presents himself as reincarnation of legendary hero from religious fiction. He dreams of being assigned an enlightened or saint, someone who is protected by divine light for divine missions, a gift to the Islamic world. In the most hypocritical manner, he wears and acts as an example of a non-corrupt Islamic leader. Apparently, he seems to be holding back enough to be quite busy with other ambition -- he may ultimately play the role of the Hidden Imam himself, if the promised Imam does not physically reappear in two years. What he needs is a plan of preparation and manipulation of the signs indicating the Imam’s reappearance.
The president, who is known for his personality disorder, boasts of being assigned to prepare all conditions for the Imam’s return, which will be according to the Shiite sect after the following signs:
- Before the Imam’s appearance, the people will be reprimanded for their acts of disobedience by a fire that will appear in the sky and a redness that will cover the
sky. It will swallow up both Baghdad and Kufa. People’s blood will cover their destryed houses . Death will occur amid their people and a fear will come over the people of Iraq from which they will have no rest--a reason for the IRI’s nuclear programme to blow in jets of fire and plumes of smoke.

a black wind will raise it at the beginning of the day and
then an earthquake will occur so that much of it will be swallowed up;
fear will cover the people of Iraq and Baghdad; swift death (will
occur) there and there will be a loss of property, lives and harvests;
locusts will appear at their usual times and at times not usual so that
they attack agricultural land and crops and there will be little harvest
for what the people planted; two kinds of foreigners will dispute and
much blood will be shed in their quarrel; slaves will rebel against
obedience to their masters and kill their masters (mawali); a group of
heretics (ahl al-bida) will be transformed until they become monkeys
and pigs; slaves will conquer the land of their masters; a cry (will
come) from the sky (in such a way) that all the people will hear it in
their own languages; a face and a chest will appear in the sky before
the people in the centre of the sun; the dead will arise from their
graves so that they will return to the world and they will recognize one
another and visit one another; that will come to an end with twenty-
four continous rainstorms and the land will be revived by them after
being dead and it will recognize its blessings; after that every disease
will be taken away from those of the Shia of the Mahdi, peace be on

Its torso then torso because the torso has the greatest mass, is quicker and easier to hit with minimal aiming and allows for multiple targets to be hit in sucession, then head as need to complete the task.
Generally two hits in the torso will permanently stop most unless on pcp or other drug unless using a 40 cal or larger or as PB said head head which is also permanent.

Oops- reading the entire Jerusalem Post article partially answered my question - a major culprit was Iran. But I doubt Iran was the only supplier of arms to the PA. What about Egypt, I wonder? How much of our jizya paid to Egypt is being used to develop or purchase weapons intended for use by the "Palestinians", one may well ask. As Eliahu noted earlier in this thread, money is fungible.

Well, sorry to break up target practice but here's an op-ed by Lee Kaplan, slightly OT on whether or not there's going to be an Iranian War but also discusses how the US plays footsie with funding terrorist supporters: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/article.php3?id=6238
I think it is amazing that newspapers(especially the ones in Israel) repeat these stories as if everyone's memory was as short as a shoe string.
BTW, Abu Mazen, Arafat's successor, now dressed up in a suit and with manicured hair, was the one behind the Achille Lauro kidnappings and murders...the mastermind of those who pushed Leon Klinghoffer, a crippled old man in a wheelchair, overboard to his death.
I remember seeing a version of that kind of murder in a movie with Richard Widmark as the crazed criminal killer, and thinking that that sort of stunt only happened in the movies. Wrong.

commonsense said "From where and from whom were these weapons purchased?"
In addition to Iran, Russia also seems suspect to me, as they would like to have some influence in the region.

Hell, hit 'em in the gluteus maximus if that's all that's showing and they're shooting, too.
Just like to work for maximum efficiency.
I've heard of people hit five times in the body and still coming on.
Then again, Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald once in the gut, and it severed almost everything vital that a damned bullet could find.
(That the Dallas cops then proceeded to give Oswald a chest compression massage ... as if he were having a heart attack... is what probably killed him, since it ruptured even more blood vessels ...and, by this fatally absurd delaying procedure, they failed to put him in the vehicle that was just sitting there in the police dept. basement for his prison transfer, instead, waiting for an unnecessary ambulance, as if the type of vehicle meant anything in such an emergency... making it look more like they wanted to make sure he was as near death as they could get him before they let a doctor near him... and it worked, as one of the Parkland Hospital surgeons, who also had operated on JFK two days before, later wrote -in "Conspiracy of Silence".)

This is not the only muslim population that we are giving jizyah to. The U.S. has been giving 'aid' to pakistan for years. Last I heard, it was 2 billion dollars and a few F-16's thrown in. This 'aid' is diverted to the spread of terrorism in the region, specifically against Hindu India. One only has to look at the state of pakistan's economy to judge that the aid given is in the swiss bank accounts of the series of pakistani dictators and the 'presidents' chosen by 'a democratic process'.
I have a long range rifle . I prefer to be long range when dealing with the men of the mo. Though if forced to, can deal short range, too.

When the Palestinians and all the other war-like nations receiving aid have eaten all their armaments then perhaps we can help

Sweden and Hamas: Double-dealing or mere incompetence?
We have received this from one of our Swedish friends:
It appears that either Sweden or Hamas has been engaging in some rather astute double-dealing over the past few days. While the media spotlights were focusing on the impending visit of Mr Salah Muhammed al Bardawil of the terror-branded Hamas organisation, attention was being drawn away from the person whose entry into Sweden was higher on the Hamas list of priorities. His name is Atef Adwan.
On Friday 5 May he’ll be in Sweden. The Hamas minister, representing a terror organisation that demands the eradication of Israel, received his entry visa into Sweden on Israel’s 58th Independence Day.
Background:
Mr Atef Adwan, Refugee Minister in the Hamas government
Previously assistant to terror-branded Gaza Islamist Sheikh Ahmed Yassin; wrote Yassin’s biography
Captured by Israel in 1992, deported to Lebanon
In Lebanon he was trained by Hizbullah ahead of his return to Gaza in conjunction with Yasser Arafat’s takeover of the Palestinian Authority (PA)
All the indications are that Atef Adwan’s name was sneaked in without any reference to his ministerial position among a hundred or so names of civilian Palestinians applying for visas to Sweden at the Swedish consulate in Jerusalem. His Swedish entry visa was granted for a civilian visitor. Whether this roundabout procedure was coordinated with the Swedish authorities in Jerusalem or was in fact sanctioned all the way from the Foreign Office in Stockholm cannot at present be verified.
Schengen visa – despite a very public “no” from Sweden
A phone call to the Swedish Foreign Office revealed that Mr Adwan was granted a Schengen visa, although Sweden firmly stated that she would not issue any such visa to Hamas representatives, in line with the pan-Schengen decision following France’s denial of visas for Hamas representatives.
The question is how the visa application slipped past Austria, which holds the chair at present, if Mr Adwan’s official ministerial position as a Hamas representative was specified on his visa application. And if he concealed this, exactly which paragraph of the immigration law he will be contravening when he steps off the plane and touches Swedish soil?
Who pulls the strings?
There is some reason to believe that the Swedish government may have been rather economical with the truth by assisting Mr Adwan to his visa in this rather roundabout manner. Either that, or Swedish Prime Minister is not fully in charge of his cabinet, with a Foreign Office setting its own agenda in defiance of its PM, since the premier was extremely adamant in his recent statement that his government would never contravene the Schengen agreement. Another possibility is that both the Prime Minister and his Foreign Minister are both in agreement on this issue of international principle, but that the Swedish consulate in Jerusalem either colluded with Hamas or failed to do an adequate job of checking the identity of so prominent a member of the Hamas government.
Palestine to be built in place of Israel
On Friday, Mr Atef Adwan will talk in Malmö, Sweden, about the Palestinian demand for mass immigration into Israel. This despite the Palestinian declaration – for Western consumption – that they merely want a sovereign Palestinian state alongside Israel. It would appear that the term “alongside Israel” is a synonym for “instead of Israel”, because it is hard to imagine how one could otherwise explain a struggle for national independence from Israel by a demand to colonise the Israeli state from which one demands independence. The minister is coming to Sweden to talk about exactly that – despite the terms of the visa agreement and despite the Swedish government’s public denials.
There are a lot of questions that need answering.

Report: Iran president to send letter to Pope
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is writing a letter to Pope Benedict, following an unprecedented letter to U.S. President George W. Bush earlier this month, a newspaper said on Thursday.
"President Ahmadinjad's second letter is for Pope Benedict and will be sent in the next days," Jomhuri-ye Eslami newspaper, which is close to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, quoted unnamed sources as saying. (Reuters)

"The late and loathsome Yasir Arafat's thuggish behaviour is NOT news."
No, but the fact that the data is now officially being confirmed IS news. This means that Israeli and American and European funds were used to kill innocent people in Israel. I have written an email to over 1,000 good friends and aquaintances and encouraged all of them to flood their congressmen's and senator's offices with mail, email, fax's and telephone calls, telling our congress to stop every last cent to the "palestinian" people. There is no such thing as humanitarian aid. It is simply money that will be re-funneled by a gang of criminals who have the support of the criminal, hate filled "palestinian" population - in order to feed a culture of death.
NOT ONE CENT MORE FOR THE PALESTINIANS! Let 'em rot, for all I care. Enough is enough.
(And this is a moderate democrat speaking. I can only imagine what hard right republicans would really like to write :) :) )

aggiegabe,
re immigration, when Jews needed a place to immigrate to before the Holocaust in the 1930s, the Arabs objected --although they knew of the Nazis' hostility toward Jews-- and lobbied Britain to cancel Jewish rights to immigrate to Israel, then ruled by the UK as the "palestine mandate." The palestinian arab leadership was in contact with the Nazis [who had a consulate in Jerusalem]. The Germans sent weapons to the palestinian arabs in what was called "the Great Arab Revolt" although Zionist writer, Horace Samuel, called it "Revolt by Leave." Much of the weapons and money sent by Nazi Germany went through the German Templars in Israel who had settled in several places in Israel in the 19th century, and were then collaborating with the Arab terrorists led by Haj Amin el-Husseini. In response to the Arab demand to stop Jewish immigration, the British issued the 1939 White Paper which severely curtailed Jewish immigration to the internationally designated Jewish National Home. This White Paper policy was declared illegal by the Permanent Mandates Commission of the League of Nations, but the British did not change the policy for all that.
Infidel33, I do realize that the EU understands what it's doing. Of course, when blatant proof comes out, then it should be thrown in their face, for they are not going to change policy, if they are given the benefit of the doubt. Here is an opportunity to again vocally protest EU policy.

ok, we stop all funding for any Palestinian NGO, or government body etc. then we have over 100,000 people without any salaries, what are those people going to do? Some of them will become more radicalized. At the moment, there doesn’t seem to be any way for the Palestinians to sustain themselves, no exports. If Israel denies the Palestinians the means to pay for itself, they are bound to revolt. This site is about anti-Jihad, but until we have a radical discussion about Palestine, the west will not be containing radicalism, but fuelling it.

Billions in aid to muslim countries.
No money left for pensions and infrastructure at home.
Import immigrants to make up the shortfall of people paying into the pension system. Since it has been drained to support other countries.
Immigrants cost 100,000 per family (or was that per person?) to their new country in benefits and subsidies.
More drain on the system.
Import more immigrants to cover the shortfall.
Drain the system more.
Import more immigrants to cover growing shortfalls in pension system.
And, as profitsbeard says, Rinse, Repeat....
Who thought of this system anyway? Oh yeah, PONZI!

Some of them will become more radicalized.
That may well be exactly what the "international mediators" - the United States, Russia, the European Union and the United Nations - think.
However, as Hugh Fitzgerald said elsewhere, "Exactly how much more extreme could they get?"
His whole post is worth reading:

I read Hugh Fitzgerald's post, and I have some sympathy for it. However, it is isolationist 'Leave the Muslim Arabs to their own devices, and most of the other Muslims as well.' At a time when a lot of us would agree they are not leaving US to our own devices. We cannot leave them be and hope they will not aquire WMD's. They will and they will use them on us. We must be prepared to invade, install puppet regimes and manage Islam through Imperialism. There, I said it, I know the thought will make the American's cringe, but attempting anything else while petro-dollars flow into the radicalised Middle East will doom us.

If I am not mistaken Iran was Arafat's principal weapons supplier, and on more than one occasion massive arms shipments from Iran on their way to the Palestinian Authority had been seized and confiscated at mid-sea.
So this article is really not news.

Ahmed Yassin had his head cracked open. A fitting end for someone who masterminded the beheadings and murders of so many others.
Sweden is undermining its own justice.

And as D said, a sawed off shotgun also works.
Just point it in the general direction and pull the trigger. If it doesn't kill 'em it will frighten 'em to death. Works everytime.
For the uninformed, and those that do not know how to adequately use weapons, the first two weapons to purchase should be 12 or 20 gage shotguns. The next two weapons to buy should be 20 or 12 gage shotguns. Shotguns are general area point and shoot especially if sawed off to legal limits.
Then after that pistols and rifels, but get training.
Be prepared.
Be armed.
Be ready.
The Texican.
Freedom, the only choice at any cost and the cost will be immense.
