Er, check that. They are protesting against counter-terrorism. And the Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner is already playing the dhimmi, apologizing to the Muslim community instead of saying: "If you acted on your professed moderation and contacted us about people teaching jihadist violence and plotting attacks, such raids would not be necessary."
"Muslims protest at police treatment," from the Telegraph, with thanks to Interested, who points out that if hundreds of Muslim demonstrators really do turn out for this, that will be "hundreds more than protested against the actions of their coreligionists on July 7."
Hundreds of Muslim demonstrators are set to gather in east London to protest at being treated as "second-class citizens" following a controversial anti-terror raid. One of Scotland Yard's most senior officers appealed for calm ahead of the protest outside Forest Gate police station.
Andy Hayman, the Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner, said it was not the time for conflict and anger and urged all communities to pull together.
His words came after he apologised directly for the "disruption and inconvenience" caused when a house was raided in the hunt for a suspected chemical bomb last Friday....
And I'd like to apologize for the disruption and inconvenience caused to the German people by the Allies as they did what they had to do to remove Hitler from power.
Anjem Choudary, the former UK head of the Islamic group al-Muhajiroun, said hundreds could attend the protest which will be held after Friday prayers."The Muslim community today are treated as second class citizens," he said.
"There is a shoot and ask questions later policy which has been facilitated by a whole raft of draconian laws."...
Yes, it's a regular police state. Of course, no one is forcing Mr. Choudary or his coreligionists to remain there.

I think you should apologize to the Muslim community for Allied action against Hitler too.

"Second class citizens" ! "Third Class" is more like it. And "Hostile Alien" will take care of the situation permanently.

l think the politicians, pen pushers cops have not learned their lessons from their July bombings of last year. the sentiments does not work well with the common people, and they need to speak out loudly.

I am not surprised since the Mayor is Ken Livingstone. He's an eel. So he will appoint other eels to head Depts.
I have a hunch the cops were set-up-framed by the clerics. Something is wrong with this picture.
The key to the truth is ("very nervous") Mr. Informer. (Who is so nervous when they are telling the truth? Especially truth that will save innocent lives?).
The Blair govn't should step in and somehow get Mr. Informer to tell just exactly how he got his info. They should investigate Mr. Informer and prosecute him for giving false information.
Mr. ("Very nervous") Informer might blow the cover of the clerics in the process. The Blair govn't should be in charge of the investigation-not the Metropolitan Police.

Remember that little weasel Anjem Choudary when he belonged to Al Margarinies aka Al Muhajiroun.
Now he is with Al Ghurabaa-the Rum Babaas churning out same bloodthirsty threats to Infidels -NON MUSLIMS IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY! He along with rest of muderous Islamic thugs ought to have BEEN DEPORTED DECADES AGO. Blair should step down for aiding and abetting Terrorists and the disgrace of turning a blind eye to their atrocities in other countries.

The Muslim community today are treated as second class citizens
~instead of the way it should be - non-muslims being the second class citizens. ~per The Koran

Oops - as it is, New Labour will lose the anti-Islamic votes to the Tories and the BNP, and now they won't even get the Muslim votes either?
Don't you hate it when that happens?

There seemed to be a greater number of hijabettes, ninjas and their masters about this evening but it could be the sun bringing them out, like it does other creatures of the hot and dirty places.....

From Yahoo News today:
Muslims in anti-terror demo Friday June 9, 06:39 PM
More than 100 Muslims protested angrily over the controversial east London anti-terror raid, expressing fury at alleged police brutality and Government oppression of the Islamic community....
So an "anti-terror demo" is really a pro-terror demo?

The Forest Gate demo today appeared to be the usual rag-bag of idiots led by al-Muhajiroun veterans (former followers of the Pied Piper of Haringey). They have a record of turning up at other people's demonstrations and shouting bellicose slogans ("USA go to hell", etc) which make headlines while the real demonstrators are not mentioned.
The family of the two brothers who were arrested encouraged local Muslims not to attend today's demo, but to go to another one on Sunday. By the way, the brothers were released without charge today.

For sake of fairness, I think one should mention this. I know how many on this site will react to this, but we have to try to maintain some semblance of objectivity.
I am concerned about one feature of the Internet in general, and this site in particular. That is that everyone pounces on what happened today on scant evidence, but few seem to follow through - since it often invalidates their original arguments.
I don't doubt the general premise of this site, but let us not lose sight of the fundamental right of "innocent until proven guilty".

The brothers were released early this evening because the police found nothing at their house. The distinct impression given by the police is that they would have liked to hang on to them longer but hadn't enough (any?) evidence. They are not ruling out more raids to come and don't seem to have entirely disociated themselves from their original informant/ intelligence. This could just be face-saving, of course, but my impression is that they still have their eye on these two. There have been quite explicit statements by the police that threats of non-cooperation / protest by the Muslim community have affected the handling of this case and at one pont they seemed to come up with something like a grovelling apology. There is the usual talk of law suits seeking compensation.

"There is the usual talk of law suits seeking compensation."
There should be lawsuits.
These police raids cost a lot of money. If not for mohammedans running around committing terrorist acts, most of them wouldn't be necessary.
The public should demand compensation from the mohammedan community for creating the situation where cops have to work overtime, wear out equipment through constant anti-terror drills, and put themselves in harm's way.
By all means, start filing.
