Iran: we will dictate the terms of the West's surrender

And after all, that is a prerogative of the victors. "Iran condemns some nuclear incentives," from Reuters, with thanks to JE:

Iran's Foreign Ministry has rejected some proposals from six world powers trying to persuade it to stop its atomic fuel work.

It says it will offer its own amendments.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi has not specified what changes to the package Iran might seek but it has always rejected the central crux of the proposal, that it should give up enriching uranium.

The deal will fail without a concession on this.

Mr Asefi says Iran will study the package further.

"There are points which are acceptable," he said.

"There are points which are ambiguous and there are points that we believe should not exist."

No suprises here. Anyone who gave any serious thought to any possibility whatsoever that Iran might actually accept the deal would have trouble finding their own behind.

All of the "negotiations" are just noise. After all the delays and flap over Afghanistan and Iraq, the US under Bush cannot simply bomb the place. That is why the EU is carrying the ball for once.

looks like Dubya's solution means that the mad mullahs will wind up with a nuclear bomb. Was that his intention all along, despite his tough talk at various points along the way?

Eliyahu,

Not to worry too much Eliyahu. I'm sure your country will step up to the plate if the US is forced to balk on this issue. Just be prepared to don a uniform as it looks increasingly like you will have to fight this one by yourselves. But if this sorry scenario eventuates, you can expect an influx of volunteers into your army from all over the world to help you out. I'll be one of them.

I won't be surprised if Condi signs-off on an unconditional surrender, given her passion to sucking up (which she mistakes to be 'diplomacy').

After being away for a few days on a spiritual retreat; and just having read this short report, could it be possible that this is being setup in order to give a false sense of victory for Iran in order to fool them so that "latter action" can take place that will catch it off-guard?

Thank You for the responses.

I've placed the Minister's remarks into my new fangled online Muslimspeak translation engine and this came out:

"We like the list of things you'll give us in return for us ignoring you, we just think you should give us a lot more stuff."

The proper (and victorious) response to
this statement would be:

"We agree. There are points that we believe should not exist. One such point is Tehran,
and your non-existence is now on its way
to your doorstep.
Check the following URL, valid for the
next 10 minutes, to track the shipment."

I daresay this situation is not merely Iran and Islam versus the western democracies. I have long maintained that Communist-bloc states (notably Russia, China, Cuba, Venezuela) are handmaidens to Islam's ihadist wars against the western democracies. And that is the hidden ace in the hole Iran is banking on. But don't count on the mullah-monsters admitting to that in the media anytime soon.

Pythagoras,
The president of Venezuela has proposed a nexus of iran, NK, and venezuala against America. I think a LOT of guys are going to glow in the dark.
