An update on the latest Palestinian propaganda offensive: "Report: IDF didn't shell Gaza beach," from the Jerusalem Post, with thanks to Andrew Bostom:
The IDF probe investigating the deaths of seven Palestinian civilians, caused by an explosion on a beach in Gaza on Friday evening, concluded that chances were slim that the accident was caused by IDF shelling.According to the findings, expected to be formally released on Tuesday, shrapnel taken from two wounded Palestinians who were evacuated to Israeli hospitals showed that the explosives were not made in Israel, IDF officials said.
Moreover, the investigation noted the absence of a large enough crater at the site of the explosion, as would be expected if an IDF shell had landed there.
The third observation casting doubt on the possibility that IDF shelling was the cause of the Palestinian deaths was that the IDF had accounted for five of the six shells that it fired in the area before the explosion and the shell that was unaccounted for was fired more than 10 minutes before the blast that killed the Palestinians.

Recall that the "act of war" and "cowardly attack on innocent people" was the so-called reason that Hamas called off their "truce" with Israel. I wonder if the truce will be re-instated now.
And I wonder whether the professional Israel bashers like Democracy Now!, International Socialist Review, F.A.I.R. et al. will spin this as Israel trying to cover up something they did, or Hamas trying to cover up something they did. Before you answer, consider that they still think that the USS Liberty incident is "news."
Speaking of which, it seemed to me that they "alternative, left-wing" media didn't exactly jump all over this story as I suspected they would. Was there some doubt all along? I wonder.
Friends, if you encounter a liberal that wants to hear the truth about Islam, Israel, Zionism, etc. from a fellow liberal, send them my way.

I wonder how they will still make it appear as the Israeli atrocity!

From Jeffery Imm's link:
The Islamic Jihad said earlier that two of its operatives who were killed were Hamoud Wadiya, the group's top rocket launcher, and Shawki Sayklia. Seven Palestinian civilians, including two schoolchildren, were also killed Tuesday when the single missile fired by the IAF detonated the Katyushas inside the car. The army said it had proof that only one missile had been fired and that the terrorists were the only target in the strike.
Just don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.

From FNC, no mention of the car being a bomb transporter.

Anything and anyone for the cause. Its a bad time to be a palestinian; factional fighting, poverty, unemployment and exploding beach toys.
When your own people use you as fodder for their cause, you might want to consider moving.

when the single missile fired by the IAF detonated the Katyushas inside the car. Posted by: Carolyn2 at June 13, 2006 09:39 AMAround April 26, the IDF fired a missile that eliminated a loaded mobile Qassam launcher vehicle. I can't find the video now but it was on the net back then. It gave you a good idea what happens in the entire vicinity when those missiles in the back of the vehicle go off after the vehicle itself has already been hit. Posted by: Shy Guy

Allah is not doing a very good job protecting his submitters in 'Palestine', or Iraq. Allah 'might' have done something for Mohammad, but what has he done lately? Muslims keep saying 'Allah knows best'. It's amazing they can say that with a straight face. Paraphrasing Buddha, 'If Allah created all that suffering, he cant be good, If he is powerless to stop it, he cant be God. 'Whats that they say about mercy and compassion? Just exactly how does Allah display his mercy to even the best 'Palestinian' muslims? The only way out of Allah's fatalism is apostacy. Throw all the Qurans down Mahdi's well, convert to some other religion, or no religion, get a job, produce something besides misery. Prosper, have some fun...be free of Allah...

To everyone who doesn't yet know, please note:
A few weeks ago, Robert Spencer encouraged all who visit here to sign up for a copy of "the courageous and insightful" Ali Sina's first book (about Islam and the Muslim mind) because signing up will help bring in a top publisher for the book. Sina is an ex-Muslim from Iran and brilliantly devastating in his critique of Islam. To sign up for the book, click here.
If before signing up for Sina's book, you want to see how brilliant and entertaining Sina can be, check out this symposium debate in which Robert Spencer and Ali Sina teamed up together against two Muslim debaters, who never knew what hit them.
Sina's website is faithfreedom.org. According to sitemeter.com, Sina’s site has totaled close to 3 million visitors over the last 11 months.

muslims are whining again. The two that the British arrested last week are out and having confrences. See 'Brothers describe anti -terror shooting'. I did not link to the story direct because I think we would like to look at the gentle faces of the brothers. They are not on the story page.

PJS1:
check out melaniephillips.com for Melanie's recent article "Playing Us for Suckers?" in which she speculates that Forest Gate was a sting operation by the jihadists, intended to damage police and MI5 credibility.
As for the feedback from "readers", it's a mix, really, as I would expect for BBC faithful types.

KJ, as you well know, this story will be treated the same way the Mohammed Al-Dura hoax, the Jenin "massacre" hoax, the Rachel Corrie "murder", the Palestinian census fraud, and the dishonesty behind the 4:1 ratio of Palestinian: Israeli "civilian" casualties.
Ignored by the usual suspect "anti-Zionists" and their fellow travellers.

Polish Infideless,
go back and read the BBC article...
No mention of the fact that the beach was recently used by Israeli units for missions into Gaza and the palestinians placed mines on the beach and then promptly removed them after the blast. Instead they say ,"Reports say the committee is likely to suggest that a mine planted on the beach by Hamas to deter Israeli amphibious assaults was the probable cause of the explosion. WTF is that supposed to mean? Either it was a mine or it wasnt. They wont report that it was a mine despite the evidence.
No mention of the fact that the blast mark was the kind from planted explosives and not falling artillery. No mention of the fact that the shrapnel removed from the bodies were not from an artillery shell.
Not exactly a gushing retraction. CNN had more to say on the facts than BBC...
at June 13, 2006 1:33 PM
Considering that Hamas and Human Rights Watch ( reliable, nonbias sources both!) claim it was a 155mm shell that hit the beach, why did the IDF even need to investigate? Israeli patrol boats are not armed with a 155mm gun - in fact, the largest gun they carry is about 30mm. Their Corvettes max out at about 76mm.
Heck, NO ONE uses a Naval 155mm gun! There are test programs in Germany and the US - on ships no smaller than a Destroyer.
- Don't let the facts get in the way of the "truth"!

There is a vicious sort of irony for this poor family who was destroyed completely by this mine - if Israel had not ended the horrible tyrannous occupation of Gaza, if the IDF was still there on the ground - these people would be alive today.
If the average Palestinian voter would have been capable of putting the fear for his own safety above his hatred of Jews, he would be in less danger than he is now.
The Palestinians can say whatever they want about "brutal occupation"... but I would rather have army checkpoints than an ELECTED GOVERNMENT who plants landmines on picnic grounds and doesn't bother to take precautions to keep civilians away from them.
These are Hamas' true colors.

I don't know the full facts of what happened in this case but then how could anyone as no proper investigation hs taken place yet. However i stumbled on this site and I must register my protest against this anti muslim, israel worshipping load of rubbish! Israel commit an attrocity? It has happened in the past it will probably happen again. There are men of violence on both sides. Just because something is state sponsered does not make it right. And before you all jump in saying I am an islamist sympathiser I am not i just believe in fairness. The concept of jihad watch seems somewhat dubious. Muslims are not the enemy within - fanatics are a tiny minority who come from all faiths and creeds.

Sarakins,
Here is my 2 cents. Don't read newspapers for this. Just go to a library and pick up books on the history of Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism. And finally islam. Try and find the fanatics from all faiths. You don't trust this site, you say so, but your friendly neighborhood library is surely trustable ? See you at JW after this. :)

Arjuna, won't that depend on WHO wrote those books?
Why not just examine current events? Who is killing tourists and clamouring for their own li'l Sharia Hellhole in the Philippines?
Who is imprisoning non-Muslim women in Malaysia for not wearing Arabic costumes in college?
Who has murdered 2 million black African Sudanese since 1983?
Who has murdered 70,000 Hindus in Kashmir since 1990?
Who has murdered 500,000 in Somalia since 1990?
Who is whipping and hanging gay children and girls "with sharp tongues" in Iran and Saudi Arabia?
Who is occupying the entire nation of Western Sahara?
Who is occupying northern Cyprus?
Who is financing terrorist madrassas all over the world?
Who bombed flight 103 over Lockerbie?
Who committed the terrorist attacks of 911?
Who bombed the WTC in 1993?
Who destroyed the ancient, irreplacable statues of Buddha in (formerly Buddhist) Afghanistan?
Arjuna, it's time to accept the facts. And btw, who rode into India and destroyed all those Hindu, Buddhist, and Buddhist/Greco kingdoms? And destroyed all those temples? And sent all that gold and all those slaves back to Baghdad? And took over the greatest buildings and made them mausoleums (like the Shiva temple that "became" the Taj Mahal?)
