Not really. The Saudi paper in question is imagining divine retribution when, to the best of my knowledge, none has taken place and the actual Danish editor who printed the cartoons, Flemming Rose, is alive and well and has recently published this explanation of why he did it.
"'Danish Editor burnt alive,'" from Pakistan's The Nation, with thanks to Burns:
The editor of the Danish newspaper ‘Jyllands Posten’ was burnt to death when a fire mysteriously broke out in his bedroom, a Saudi newspaper claims.According to the newspaper, the editor was sleeping in his bedroom when the fire ravaged his bedroom. He and his newspaper became controversial when it had published blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The paper claims that the Danish govt is trying to cover up the news of the death. He was hit by divine retribution, the paper added. Muslims, all over the world, strongly denounced this blasphemous act and massive protests were held in all Muslim countries including Pakistan. Text messages and emails that claim that the editor or the cartoonist has been burnt alive have also been circulating since Tuesday, lending support to this report. The paper named the editor as Elliot Back. However, Back is merely a senior in Computer Science at Cornell University, who had published the caricatures on his website. Name of the culture editor of Jyllands Posten, who commissioned the caricatures, is Flemming Rose. Jens Julius is the name of one of the cartoonists that drew the images. There were 12 cartoonists in all, who according to the BBC have gone into hiding.

But of course: God, if he exists, would naturally have nothing better to do than to murder newspaper editors for having offended the most childish group of people on Earth.
Perhaps he'll chip in to assist the Saudi Arabian world cup team by bumping off a few goalkeepers from the opposing teams.

Make as many cartoons as you like, maybe even under a pseudonym, then immediately print a fake story of divine retribution extinguishing the offender! Imagine the frustrated Muslim rage!

Actually, the Infidel governments or private parties should let it be known far and wide that those recent earth-heavings in Iran and Indonesia should be understood to have been divine retribution, from God, visited upon thos who still refuse to recognize that Muhammad was, according to American astronauts who have personally talked to God while visiting the heavens, all seven of them (and by the way, they came away with proof that Muhammad on Buraq never made it up even to the first heaven, much less the seventh), a man who tried to mislead the poor innocent Arabs of the desert, and caused them, in their trusting innnocence, to be enslaved by him. And God has decided to punish the non-Arab Muslims first, for continuing to follow this slave-religion, which is why the earthquakes in Iran and Indonesia, and the flooding to come in Bangladesh, will happen.
Get the word out. Fight craziness with cleverer craziness, aimed in a primitive world at primitive people. It's bound to have an effect. More than a few are going to believe it, and start to change their ways and their beliefs.

I have been waiting for JW to start a discussion on Iran's latest wholesale rejection of the latest EU offer. If that's their final answer, then I would say that the appeasement-oriented elements in the West have finally run out of ideas.

But rumor has it that the 70 year old granny arrested in that so-called 'shop' was guilty as hell. It turned out to be a Shop of Little Horrors, according to the Preservation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice Police -- They were selling miniature vibrating minarets right under authority's noses the whole time -- that arrest cracked open a huge underground ring of elder Perverters of the Faith. Saudis are expressing tremendous relief and praising Allah with donations to promulgators, and the slaughter of entire herds of goats.

If only Islam would leave retribution to Allah. If the Christian God gets mad at a people, He would turn them into a pillar of salt or send an earthquake or tsunami or flood or plague. But Allah, he needs human assassins to go out and kill those who take his name in vain, or draw a picture of him, or sing a song about him. Why is he so impotent that he needs violent human intervention to protect him? Something is not right there.
