This reminds me of Woody Allen's very funny film Zelig in which the Doctor (a real medical cleric) rronounces that Zelig has a brain tumor and will die in two weeks. Two weeks later the Doctor dies of a brain tumor.

The ill-will of these folks is demented, beyond any capacity for reason. For them beliefs are facts.

Good point. How about starting with the Danish cartoonists themselves who are ALREADY in hiding. Start the false rumor that they were all attending a cartoonist “free speech” convention in a hotel that was burned to the ground. Maybe then they could all come out of hiding and live the rest of their lives in anonymous peace.

muhammad told his followers not to draw or record any likeness of him because according to him it might temp his followers to venerate him.

Therefore, since nothing has ever been recorded as to his phyisical likeness, it is logically impossible to draw any likeness in any case.

That being the case, it is also logically impossible for anyone to break the taboo of drawing a face and attributing the likeness to muhammad.

Another thing that defies reason is the fact that muhammad was illiterate according to the mullahs -- yet; the same mullahs will tell you that you can not possibly understand islam unless you can read arabic and understand its deeper meanings.

These folks remind me of the camels I saw on the Saudi plains once upon a time.

One camel was tied to the tail of the camel in front and all were being led by an old man blinded by blowing sand who thought for sure the oasis was "that-ah way" when it was really "duh udder way!"

The camels were clueless and blissfully followed the leader into the blistering sandstorm.

A couple of weeks later the camels came back. Their driver was never heard from again but they were just as eager as before to follow another fool into another sandstorm.

Will the camels ever learn? Nope! And neither will these folks.

When a man (especially) is young (especially), he tends to laugh over misfortunes and to tell jokes about them. Sometimes the jokes are based on word play: "How do you make a dead baby float? Take two scoops of baby, some ice cream, and some soda water." But sometimes the comments are more "punish" than pun-ish. Sometimes there's an esthetic of unconcern, even cruelty.

The man's comments may reflect an intense self-absorbtion or maybe an overwhelming imminence, as if what we see in the world of day to day is all there is and as if consumer items and humans have the same value.

If people grow in their concern for others, the comments of indifference and even cruelty become fewer. We may see this change in parents who come to realize how seriously kids can take even benign sarcasm.

The Muslims who are posting are often young and male, but they are not going to change much. Their worldview is imminent and this-worldly, although not always because they are absorbed by consumerism.

The problem here is far worse than with Christian adolescents because in this case, the most exalted scripture (and the highest models of behavior) essentially say, "Vengence is Mine, sayeth Me, because I know the Will of the One."

In the West, they call this perception egotism. In Islam, they call it holiness.

The Muslim may answer, "I call it holiness because we know the Will of the One." But I'll bet many answer, in their hearts, "Oh, who cares? The book says that we are to dominate, so why NOT go with the flow? Can't hurt us."

Yeh, it can. The celebration of a falsehood and the unwillingness to grow out of it helps to explain why Muslim societies are failures.

Another aspect of the lack of spiritual and other-centered emotional development among Muslim men is this: Western leaders' unwillingness to tell the truth about Islam means that Muslims hear less of what they need to hear. The political lie "Your true religion is noble" helps to keep these people thinking what they think and doing what they do.

Ridicule (an organic part of freedom of speech and press) has its place in convincing those who are willing to see.

According to this Zarqawi groupie, drawing a cartoon is as bad as killing and beheading of non-Muslims and Muslims. (I'm guessing this worshipper of Zarqawi is not Shia!?).

He is also convinced that Zarqawi became a Shaheed. Actually, I was looking through the Koran and could not find any verses that said that mass-killings of believing Muslims--Zarqawi's favourite project for the last few years--was approved by Allah. On the other hand, the intentional action toward the ultimate goal of Islam justifies any act. To resolve this issue, I talked with Allah the other day, and he says Zarqawi did not make Shaheed but instead was sent to hell! Allah explained that he is currently leaning in favour of Shia in Iraq. Nothing happens except by the will of Allah, don't you know.

Artwork such as "Piss Christ", "Dung Virgin", (even the latest from University of Oregon showing a naked Jesus Christ kissing another naked man both with erections). Muslim Palestinian fanatics break into Jesus' birthplace (Church of Nativity). They descecrate the place and even use the Holy Bible for toilette paper.

What is the Christian response to provocation 100 times worse than the stupid Danish Cartoons? No riots anywhere in the world. Christians don't send hit teams and put artists and authors into hiding. They don't pray for the hideous death of these individuals. Christian authors/intellectuals write books countering the factual and historic inacuracies of the "Da Vinci Code". They hold conferences in which they encourage members to see the Da Vinci Code movie. This is to explain to non-Christians the true secular and religious historic proofs of the Council of Nicea and scripture.

Of course, our useless mainstream media will never draw the contrast between Islam and Christianity. Let's all continue the effort to reach our friends and family. It will take work, but it's the only way. Eventually, when enough people come around, the mainstream media will have no choice but to see/print the "light".

Very well said. The history you reference will again repeat intself (for about the 20th time) this time with Iran and others in the Mideast.

This whole problem is beyond the use of reason. It will take a catastrophe for Muslims in the region to come to their senses and face facts and turn away from delusions. I think you know that's a realistic assessment of the situation and a rarional judgement with regard to how events will conclude in the region.

Fifty years from now Isreal will exist, but I'm not so sure that her enemies will still exist in fifty years.
