Bridge For Sale! Bridge For Sale! From AP, with thanks to Mackie:
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) - The rival Hamas and Fatah movements agreed on a plan implicitly recognizing Israel, a top Palestinian official said Tuesday after weeks of acrimonious negotiations meant to lift crippling international aid sanctions."We have an agreement over the document," said Ibrahim Abu Najah, coordination of the "national dialogue" over the proposal.
Moderate President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah has been trying to coax his Hamas rivals into endorsing the document, which calls for a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

Without the slightest subtlety both Hamas and Fatah will reassure the Paleostinians that its "just a ploy really! don't worry! we'll kill the Jews at the right time...this is just an act"
When I was about eight, I wanted to be a magician and I put on a show for my family. I was very bad. I would drop things, false bottoms would fall out etc. and I would say "You didn't see that! You didn't see that!" and went on with my act.
When an eight year old does it, its cute.

Of course, this latest bit of theatrics includes no pledge to coexist indefinitely with Israel, no recognition of Israel's right to exist, and no timetable on how long the proposed "mutual ceasefire" would last.
Useless.
The timing is also curious, with Israeli troops
massed on the Gaza border over the kidnapping of an injured Israeli soldier.

Shinolite:
"Curious timing" is a cute way to put it. I guess Hamas thought they could steal a bit of Fatah's thunder by obtaining the release of prisoners via a "more direct" route.

We agree to pretend that Israel has a right to exist so that the USA and EU can dish out more dosh, but instead we will continue to carry out acts of terror and destruction to destroy that which we are pretending to recognise. Unlected EU officals have an orgasmic fit in opening up the bank vaults to pay those poor Palestinians their god given money, while above them their roof is leaking and the plumbing is full of calcium and energy supply issues dominate, and cartoons are banned and the UN suddenly declares that for Islam all your human rights have just been removed. Oh what joy it is to live in such interesting times...

Makes you wonder what Hamas will do with that pesky "Charter of Allah/Charter of Hamas" that states in article 13;
Article Thirteen
"[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad: "Allah is the all-powerful, but most people are not aware."
Perhaps the Hamas conciliation to exist "alongside" Israel means they will allow them unlimited real estate on the Mediterranean sea floor.

Fast Jihad and Slow Jihad agree to collaborate in their side of the farce, presenting a Medium-Speed Jihad, thus leaving the endlessly gullible Israelis to end their opposition, and the Quartet, that collection of malevolent fools, to push for the "two-state solution" that, we all know, is a "solution" to the Jihad against Israel (despite what is written in the Qur'an and despite the Sunnah) because, you see, it wouldn't be called a "solution" unless it were a "solution" -- now would it?

Gather them together for a signing deal, then kill them all.
Enough of this tango of imbecilities.

I think that the top leadership of hamas et al did want to free the soldier. But when they contacted the demons down below, they got the information that the soldier was already 'too damaged' to give back. So they stumbled all over themselves to recognize Israel. They want to avoid an all out invasion by Israel since they know if the conflict escalates, they will be fried. Now Condi is telling Israel to 'act diplomatically'. Not even thinking about the two soldiers whose 'remains' were found and had to be DNA tested to establish identity, a thing only done in the case of bomb blast victims. sic.
