It seems that the wives of the Canadian jihad suspects are...jihadists. What a surprise. From the Globe and Mail, with thanks to all who sent this in:
MISSISSAUGA -- When it came time to write up the premarital agreement between Zakaria Amara and Nada Farooq, Ms. Farooq briefly considered adding a clause that would allow her to ask for a divorce.She said that Mr. Amara (now accused of being a leader of the alleged terror plot that led to the arrests of 17 Muslim men early this month) had to aspire to take part in jihad.
"[And] if he ever refuses a clear opportunity to leave for jihad, then i want the choice of divorce," she wrote in one of more than 6,000 Internet postings uncovered by The Globe and Mail.
Wives of four of the central figures arrested last month were among the most active on the website, sharing, among other things, their passion for holy war, disgust at virtually every aspect of non-Muslim society and a hatred of Canada. The posts were made on personal blogs belonging to both Mr. Amara and Ms. Farooq, as well as a semi-private forum founded by Ms. Farooq where dozens of teens in the Meadowvale Secondary School area chatted. The vast majority of the posts were made over a period of about 20 months, mostly in 2004, and the majority of those were made by the group's female members.
The tightly knit group of women who chatted with each other includes Mariya (the wife of alleged leader Fahim Ahmad), Nada (the wife of Mr. Amara, the alleged right-hand man) Nada's sister Rana (wife of suspect Ahmad Ghany), as well as Cheryfa MacAulay Jamal (the Muslim convert from Cape Breton, N.S. who married the oldest suspect, 43-year-old Qayyum Abdul Jamal). The women's husbands are part of a core group of seven charged with the most severe crimes -- plotting to detonate truck bombs against the Toronto Stock Exchange, a Canadian Forces target, and the Toronto offices of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
The women were bound by the same social, political and ideological aims. They organized "sisters-only" swimming days and held fundraisers for the notorious al-Qaeda-linked Khadr family. With the exception of the occasional Urdu or Arabic word or phrase, their posts are exclusively in English.
After their husbands were arrested, most of the women refused to tell their stories to the media; reached at her home in Mississauga, Ms. Farooq would not comment on her posts.
But in the years leading up to the arrests, they shared their stories with one another....
Like many students at Meadowvale Secondary School, Zakaria Amara is busy worrying about final exams and what, if any, university to go to. But Ms. Farooq -- the Karachi-born daughter of a pharmacist who now hands out prescription medicine to soldiers at the Canadian Forces Base in Wainwright, Alta. -- has already done a fair bit of daydreaming about what it would be like to have a child. She even has a name picked. If she has a boy, she wants to name him Khattab, after the commander of the mujahedeen in Chechnya who battled Moscow until he was assassinated in 2002."And i pray to Allah my sons follow his footsteps Ameeen [Amen]," she writes at the on-line forum she founded for Muslim teens in Mississauga's Meadowvale area. Her avatar -- an on-line symbol used to indicate personality -- is a picture of the Koran and a rifle.

There is nothing casual about Ms. Farooq's interpretation of Islam. She reiterates the belief that jihad is the "sixth pillar" of the religion, and her on-line postings are decidedly interested in the violent kind. In the forum titled "Terrorism and killing civilians," she writes a detailed point-by-point explanation of why the Taliban is destined to emerge victorious in Afghanistan.
Virtually every other government on the planet, however, she only has disdain for.
"All muslim politicians are corrupt," she writes. "There's no one out there willing to rule the country by the laws of Allah, rather they fight to rule the country by the laws of democracy." She criticizes Muslims in places such as Dubai for spending money on elaborate buildings while Iraqis are being killed.
Ms. Farooq's criticism is often directed first at other Muslims. When another poster writes about how he finds homosexuality disgusting, Nada replies by pointing out that there are even gay Muslims. She then posts a photo of a rally held by Al-Fatiha, a Canadian support group for gay Muslims. "Look at these pathetic people," she writes. "They should all be sent to Saudi, where these sickos are executed or crushed by a wall, in public."...
In a thread started by Mr. Fahim's wife, Mariya, marking the death of Hamas leader Abdel-Aziz al-Rantissi after an Israeli missile strike, Ms. Farooq unleashes her fury: "May Allah crush these jews, bring them down to their kneees, humuliate them. Ya Allah make their women widows and their children orphans." The statement is so jarring that another poster complains it's not right for Muslims to wish such things on other people. Ms. Farooq's sister Rana is also in favour of violent resistance, posting often graphic photos of female militants and suicide bombers....
The Farooqs, a Pakistani family, came to Canada in 1997 because they didn't like the idea of raising their children in the conservative society of Saudi Arabia, where foreign-born children don't have access to the same education as nationals, said Nada's father, Mohammad Umer Farooq....
Here is a phenomenon we have often noted: the children recovering their identity and becoming more militant than their parents.
His daughter has always been more religious than he and his wife, he said, and it was a faith that she developed in Canada, not Saudi Arabia. He described himself as 30 per cent religious and his daughter as 100 per cent."Occasionally. I pray. She prays five times."...
Ms. Farooq's hatred for the country is palpable. She hardly ever calls Canada by its name, rather repeatedly referring to it as "this filthy country." It's a sentiment shared by many of her friends, one of whom states that the laws of the country are irrelevant because they are not the laws of God.
In late April of 2004, a poster asks the forum members to share their impressions of what makes Canada unique. Nada's answer is straightforward.
"Who cares? We hate Canada."...
Ms. Jamal's zealousness for homegrown Muslim causes is matched only by her rejection of just about everything Canadian. As the June, 2004 federal election draws near, she repeatedly advises Muslim youth to completely avoid the process. Voting, she tells them, inherently violates the sovereignty of God, making it the most egregious sin against Islam.
"Are you accepting a system that separates religion and state?" she asks. "Are you gonna give your pledge of allegiance to a party that puts secular laws above the laws of Allah? Are you gonna worship that which they worship? Are you going to throw away the most important thing that makes you a muslim?"
Ms. Jamal's list of forbidden institutions goes beyond politics. Banking, membership in the United Nations, women's rights and secular law are all aspects of Canadian society she finds unacceptable.
But her deepest outrage, like that of so many Muslims, is time and again sparked by the treatment of her brothers and sisters around the world. In a May, 2004 post titled "Behold Your Enemy!" she posts multiple articles describing the humiliation of Iraqi prisoners at the hands of American soldiers.
"Know what you will face one day," she warns fellow forum members. "Let them call you a terrorist, let them make you look like a savage, but know that THIS is the filth of the earth, the uncivilised destroyer of humanity....

The moderate muslim named Tarek Fatah who loves to attack the Saudis and their Whahabism support for Mosques in Canada was at the Courthouse for the Brampton-17 , and he's was on the news in a video claiming that the Media filming of the Burqa clad females ( Khadr females as well) showing up there was "Racist" for assuming these females were Muslims related to the bail-Hearings for the 17 men.
The denial by Muslims is turning into shame because more evidence coming out over time is proving the Jihadist and family members embraced murdering civilians in Canada.
Imams and Clerics now admit they may be verses in the Quran that advocate violence ,BUT, the context must be understood as a Period response by Muhammad to the enemies of Islam trying to stop his spreading of the faith.

Libbysmom, I would like to see that "genius" in your link have a debate with someone other than a "I'm a made up person because the person I'm debating is a real idiot and couldn't win the debate otherwise".
I have some real problems with the mind set on that page. The biggest one perhaps is his claim that allah made everything etc. Why are those people so convinced allah is real? Why did allah wait so long to reveal the "truth" oh the list could go on and on.
I just can't imagine escaping a country like Pakistan and then wanting that sharia nonsense in my new home.
Those wives, especially the one who said she'd divorce her husband if he ever quit jihad would probably be very quick to call the cops if he beat her up.

Fireangle, I agree, the person giving the answers doesn't seem especially bright. However, if I'm sitting next to him on the tube and he has a few pounds of C4 strapped to himself, I am thinking that he'll win the argument even if he loses the debate. That there are people living next door to us who have that mindset is what makes me so angry.

This is a common argument. It fails because all periods in history, including our own, is perceived by Muslims to be a situation where Islam is surrounded by enemies. Indeed, our present era is probably the era where Islam is most threatened by enemies -- enemies who are stronger and more flagrantly obstructing the natural, divinely mandated supremacy of Islam than ever before in history.
The Jihadists, as usual, have logic, history, tradition and the Qur'an on their side -- while the so-called reformists or moderates have none of these things on their side, and so the latter are either deceivers or naive Haidonite dreamers.

I don't doubt her enthusiam for jihad, but I also have to think that clause in the marriage contract would've been the closest Farooq could have gotten to polygamy.
One husband goes off to wage jihad, loses; she'd probably score some kind of widow's benefits (from the state and/or the umma). Or, he refuses to wage jihad, and she's back on the market.
Then, remarry.
Repeat as necessary, like a terrorist Liz Taylor.

Libbysmom, I sort of understand the mindset because I was raised a seventh day adventist. My mother was firmly convinced her religion was the only 100% correct one. I, on the other hand always had questions #1 being "What took god so long to reveal the truth?"
I could never accept that a being said to have created everything could have failed for so long to pass on the truth to his creations. To me, not to have done so was neither logical or reasonable. I did find it highly amusing though to note their "prophetess" never had a vision until she was hit in the head with a rock.:D Since I spent all 12 years of "lower" school in their schools I was in hot water quite frequently. LOL

There is a deep sickness in all of this (some may think Islam is a mental illness)that will be cured by a very long prison sentence for all the would-be jihadists. Islam is an intolerant religion in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Muslim world and this intolerance of other human beings and their different beliefs can no longer be tolerated in the real world. It really is that simple.

In Mecca, Sayyidina Abu Bakr tried with love and gentleness to convince his son as to the veracity of Islam. He used the best and loftiest means to try to bring him over to Islam, yet Allah had not decreed for him to become a Muslim just yet. Sayyidina Abu Bakr made Hijrah and later went to fight in the battle of Badr. This son of his also went out on the day of Badr, yet he was with the kuffar. The son was trying his best to avoid his father so they would not have to fight each other. Later, when his son accepted Islam, he said to his father, “Oh my father, on the day of Badr (when I was a kafir) I was avoiding you so we wouldn’t have to fight.” Sayyidina Abu Bakr replied to him, “As for me, if I met you on that day I would have killed you.”
What kind of animal would even think such a thing about his own child, much less say this? Unbelievable.

I was raised in a small town at the tip of Northwest Indiana, 15 minutes at full speed to Chicago. My little Indiana now has a Mosque and Imman. Swell aint it. I've heard it on very very good source; from the mouth of an American Christian who had the bad misfortune to marry an Islamic woman who is having some 'difficulties' with his marriage and the 'education' of his daughter.
He's going through a divorce. His daugther--who is receiving her religious education at the Mosque asked her Father, "Why are your friends with Jews?" The interesting thing about this story is this girl receieves her religious education not in the Mosque--but rather in the home of a Moslem. I guess this is a better way to avoid any listening devices ect.
It is a perhaps fatal mistake to say, "Look, there may be problems in France, England and a few miles North in Toronto, but, hey, America, is different. We're a melting pot here." Islam is no different here than 'over there.' It approaches with stealth; a few doctors here, a few engineers there; it happy nice face at first; then the demands and CAIR-like activities start along with Arabian sponsership of academia; then it's England and France with more severe demands and hate.

I would think if (actually when) these males are convicted of terrorism, the government would ..
A. Discontinue welfare to the families of the people trying to kill their taxpayers.
B. Toss the families out of the country and the males when they get released.
Any one with a bit of common sense about islam, would realize the male muslims discussed and/or planned their jihad in the homes while the women were there cheering them on. These women's statements should be given to the D.A. where these males will be tried. Then go for the women. If their children are young, they need intervention and de-brainwashing.

You're right -- Islam is surrounded by Western friends on one (important) level, the level of the Western dominance of the opinion that Islam is a great religion of peace, etc. On another level, the sheer geopolitical power and global superiority of the West is itself a hostile, intolerable situation for the normal Muslim mind: the Muslim mind doesn't necessarily mind the co-existence of non-Muslims around them, as long as those non-Muslims are put in their place and "humiliated". But to have to live in a world where the non-Muslims are spectacularly light years ahead of them -- this is simply intolerable and enraging to the Muslim mind.
In a sense, we are in a lose/lose situation now: most Muslims hate us, while most of us continue to, if not love them, at least bend over backwards to try to make them feel at ease in the modern world, and this has no significantly appreciable effect on their hatred of us.

Why don't all the free countries of the world create "Jihadland". A place of permanent conflict with bombings killings and all the other devil's work that the low life aspire to? All we need is a nice secure inhospitable out of the way place were they can be deposited to take it out on each other. I'm thinking of it's sub-title, "Hell on Earth. All the Jihad you ever wanted, all in one place!".
How could they not want to go there?

Freedom lovin people of the world, your governments will not protect you. Look at the actions of kafir governments around the world. What are they doing to truly secure the safety of their citizens. Nothing. America, it is time to rebuild the militias that secured your independence 225 years ago. To the rest of the infidel countries, create those militias and organisations that you will need to secure your own peace, freedom and security. Your governments have failed you. It is time to take matters into you own hands. Protect yourself, your family, and your freedom. Otherwise, your countries will become what Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan are today. Your governments are doing nothing of significance to stop it. Will you?

borg, that is amazing! Contrast this to our local peper one year ago, who wouldn't publish anything because of the hate speech laws. This is so encouraging, I'm no longer as afraid to live in Canada.

There is an avenue to deal with hatw in Ontario we should contacgt the Ontario Human Rights about the hate by these Islamists,I am afraid what they may do has the Onatario Human Rights issued a report indicating that Islamic hate messages are fearful and some of us are afraid of our jobs because they threaten to kill us and to bomb where we work? And to bomb the government has th ontario Human Rights looked into the harm done to the public as we are fearful of bombings of riots of beheadings. What id the address of the Onario Human Rights so that we may not be targeted for bombs our places of work torched and our way of life trashed.cant they be charged with hate crime has the Ontario Human Rights charged any of them as there video is available how many complaints have been made about the hate from these Islamist have been made?
