European Jihad Update from AP, with thanks to Mackie:
BERLIN (AP) -- A German of Moroccan descent has been arrested in Hamburg on suspicion that he is a member of Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terrorist network with contacts to a man close to the Sept. 11 hijackers, federal prosecutors said Saturday. The man, identified only as Redouane E. H., 36, was a resident of the northern city of Kiel and was arrested on suspicion of supporting a foreign terrorist organization, prosecutor's office spokeswoman Frauke Scheuten said.
As part of the operation on Thursday, federal police searched many residences in Kiel, Scheuten said.
He is suspected of being in contact with Said Bahaji, who had close ties to the three Sept. 11 hijackers who lived and studied in Hamburg - Mohamed Atta, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Jarrah - but fled before the attacks and is believed to be in Pakistan. Scheuten said, however, that there is not evidence of direct contact between Redouane E. H. and the hijackers, or their plot.
"The accused had numerous contacts with the international network of violent jihadis, among other places in Syria, Algeria and Iraq," Scheuten said.
"At the end of November 2005, he completed explosives training at a camp operated by a terrorist network in Algeria. He is seriously suspected of supporting the al-Qaida foreign terrorist network through recruiting fighters for suicide attacks in Iraq and through financial payments."

"...explosives training at a camp in Algeria..."
Gee, and all we ever had at Camp was making string cat's cradles, tipsy canoeing and anachronistic ukulele lessons.
Plus songs that could be adapted, like:
Hello Muddah,
Hallo Faddah,
Here we are at
Camp Jihada.
Making bomb belts,
shaping semtex,
like the little maniacs
who cause the train wrecks."
Welcome to the future.
Camp Concentration.

I hope this gets posted, have been having major computer problems and haven't always been able to sign in here.
This doesn't surprise me at all, as we have lots of jihadis here in Germany who are linked to al-Quaeda.
What bothers me too is that German television described him as "German of Moroccan heritage".
What the hell is that? He's not German.
He is a Moroccan who, unfortunately for ALL of us, happens to be squatting in Germany.
They will most probably let him go again, as they made SURE to tell us that no plots for terror attacks on German soil were uncovered.

That's political correct language.
He's Moroccan and he's got German citizenship. We are eager to give German passports to the "poor and oppressed" people from the Islamic world. Our politicians and media tell us, that they are an enrichment to our country and it would be considered extremely racist to say, that he's not German.
I fear as well, that they will let him go. The police arrest them and the judges let them go. Same procedure as every time. It's so frustrating :-(

Eisvogel,
Yeah, I know. The judges let them go all too often.
You're right, it is the politically correct idiots who give describe them first as "Germans" and you may later find out that they are not Germans at all.
Like the "dark-skinned German" who was beat up supposedly by Neo-Nazis. He was no German and no angel either. The media went out of their way to tell us "what a nice family man" he is.
Yeah well, what was the "nice, dark-skinned German" doing in the disco at 2:00 a.m., drunken, arguing with Germans when he has a wife and two children at home???
