Hamas declares victory as the Israeli army withdraws from Gaza. From the Jerusalem Post:
Hamas's military wing, Izzadin al-Kassam announced in a press conference in Beit Lahiya Saturday evening that its fighters "have defeated the Israeli army."IDF troops began pulling out of northern Gaza late Friday night and Saturday morning following military operations there.
During the press conference, the masked Hamas operatives also presented army-issued identification cards belonging to IDF troops.
The cards were apparently left behind accidentally by the soldiers due to the intense fighting there.

CNN headline: "Palestinian civilian stands off IDF Troops"
"It was glorious!" Assam shouted. "Ali assaulted the grill of the troop carrier with his head, at high speed. Uhm, well, his bomb vest did not detonate. But their defeat was total!"

Scrolling down the original Jerusalem Post article, there is another one that reads Hamas: Shalit is alive and treated well:
Hamas released a statement on Friday asserting that Cpl. Gilad Shalit, who was kidnapped nearly two weeks ago, was alive and being treated well and "humanely in accordance with Islamic principles."
By "humanely in accordance with Islamic principles", do they mean we'll see his beheading some time soon?

They withdrew, didn't they?
I thought it was an axiom of modern thinking about conflict that wars are not merely fought on the battlefield and not merely by military means. This was what Mao had realized. Propaganda, for example, is an effective weapon.
The IDF was not, indeed, defeated by Hamas's rag-tag "fighters", nor could it have been, but it did withdraw - or was withdrawn. And for the matter of that, Israel already vacated Gaza, leaving its greenhouses behind. I doubt it was the scolding by the ghastly Kofi Annan or the EU either. Maybe it was merely Israel's own lack of resolve.

I can make you do whatever I want. See I made you slug me. See I made you stop. See I made you yell for mom. See I made you stop. ...

Any retreat, pull back, regroup whatever will be considered a loss for Israel. I'd hoped Israel would finish the job started. Maybe another murder or twelve of innocent Israelis, or their soldiers will wake then up. But I doubt it.

Does Islam breed ignorance or does ignorance breed Islam?
If one used the Hamas "logic" and applied it to this year's World Cup, then the USA would be 1 win away from winning its first World Cup Championship!!
Then again Hamas isn't extinct so it isn't an total IDF success. But it is hardly an IDF defeat.

this will give hammas time to strenghten their numbers, but then it will be more difficult without bridges, and electricity. Israelis still need to target the political wing of Hammas.

I read about this on Washington Post's site. Same old sob stories about the evil Israelis who blow shit up for no reason at all. Yes, I'm completely inclined to believe in sob stories by people who routinely use children as human shields.
I love it how those fucking retards think that they repelled the IDF with their military might. Did they suddenly forget how the IDF simply strolled in and took away a good portion of their government? The IDF could totally wipe out their entire "culture" if they wanted to.
Anyway, why did the IDF start pulling out?

The misinformation war continiues.
Any of you who just sneer at the supposed stupidity of these comments( and that includes me as I have done just that:)) have no idea of their impact upon muslims and neutrals who know nothing else about the conflict.
This, like the supposed ravings of the Iranian "moron" are just another page in what is 1400 years of distorted facts about the present and about the evens of the past. This is called propaganda or more simply lies, and is a deadly weapon versus the west as are there are MANY who are disposed to believe it as it seems far better than believing a truth which could cause a direct conflict with Islam.
We all are guilty at one time or another of accepting the lesser lie as opposed to an unpalatable truth. No doubt, there will be those here who will deny it but it is almost impossible to live in this world with ideal ethics and especially so if you have children.
The politicians of the world are just as likely, no, more than likely than the rest of us, to believe the more palatable lie, and especially so if there an inbuilt reward.
The only solution to this is to constantly dispute with evidence EVERY such statement . Simply ignoring it just seems passive acceptance.
This is one place where the turning of the other cheek is fraught with the danger of defeat.
Naturally all IMHO

This is just some more typical Arab (muslim) hyberbole because they are too "proud" to admit defeat. Wajh, or "face" means everything to these neanderthals and they never admit defeat, even when it is undeniable.
As I recall, the Arabs lost the Six Day War of 1967 only because the US and Great Britain helped the Israelis by firing on them from aircraft carriers. The truth is that the Israeli airforce eliminated almost the entire combat fleet of the UAR in one morning but the mighty Arabs could never admit that they were defeated by Israel alone. Muslims are inveterate liars and aggrandizers extraordinare.
I doubt if they will ever realize that Islam's imaginary greatness is all an illusion fabricated by centuries of bravado, falsehoods, and arrogance. Eventually non-muslims will see through their pathetic facade, as their rotten culture becomes more transparent.

Riiiight, that's why Hamas has been begging for days (in its own face-saving way) for Israel to enter into talks to resolve the "Gaza crisis."
Sadly, ignoring all evidence, there are a LOT of ignorant people among the Arabs of this region that will swallow every word that comes from Hamas.
This announcement, as ludicrous as it is, will boost the morale of at least some terrorists and lead to more bloodshed. But, of course, Hamas knew that.

Another epic battle like Leningad, no I mean Jeningrad. In a fair fight, the IDF could take them on 1 to 10 armed with small arms only and clean them up like dead termites

Israel should clear the Gaza of all humans, and wall it off with electrified concertina wire latticed with high explosives.
Then, turn it into the largest pig pen ever. Pigs with a taste for human meat, like the ones Wu owns in Deadwood.
That'd clear things up. It would smell terrible, but not much worse than it has for the last few months.

Alarmed Pig Farmer,
I was thinking that the worst torture we can inflict on the inmates of Gitmo, that would also be okay with Amnesty et al, would be to let around 10 inmates in a sty with 25 hogs. I thought what would happen. If the hogs were not wild, (just one of those would do for all 10) some will simply bang their heads on the ground, since the situation is hopeless from their point of view, some shall scream "I'll tell all". But all this is just thinking. One has to put a muslim in a pigsty to find out what happens and contribute the results of this scientific enquiry for the benefit of all mankind.
at July 9, 2006 1:59 AM
Arjun, you say: "One has to put a muslim in a pigsty to find out what happens and contribute the results of this scientific enquiry for the benefit of all mankind."
The muslims ARE in a pigsty. It's called Gaza, and you can see the empirical evidence of their possession (or occupation, if you will) already. Not very impressive if the observer expects anything like civilization. Must smell to high heaven by now without power to run the sewage pumps.
Frankly, I think the IDF should have blown up all the sewage facilities, too.
Naturally, all of the meat lockers, freezers, and food refrigeration facilities are a little rank now, too. Let the bastards clean up their crap for a few weeks. Let the European dhimmis fund some reconstruction. In three or four months, the IDF can blow the shit out of it again.
And the war goes on.

I think when they anticipate going to meet their 72 virgins, courtesy the 'apes/rats', they call that a victory.
I wish all Muslims an endless sequel of such 'victories'.

Dear Arjun,
don't even bother with a pig, just get a dog, a nice slobbering friendly St. Bernard, that will put the shit up them just as well, or better still one of your Indian pi-dogs, then they would have a chance of catching rabies if they got bitten, not that you would notice the difference. It has always amazed me why the American millitary never send dogs out with there patrols, four or five friendly Jack Russels who are frightened of nothing milling around will keep any arab crowd at bay, they are also the most inquisitive of animals, so they could give the patrols space and warning. To overlive in a war situation you have to be alert 100% of the time, an impossibility anything that gives the partrols a bit of an edge, and cuts down allied casualties.
at July 9, 2006 11:52 AM
Arjun, why on earth would you want to inflict that kind of inhumane treatment on poor, defenseless pigs? What have they ever done to us? Even pigs have standards.

I remember Raphael Patai stating in his "The Arab
