According to a captured Al-Qaeda manual, the jihadist should appear to be a secular, assimilated Muslim with no interest in religion. Speaking of ID documents, it says: "The photograph of the brother in these documents should be without a beard. It is preferable that the brother's public photograph [on these documents ]be also without a beard. If he already has one [document ]showing a photograph with a beard, he should replace it." And in renting an apartment, "It is preferable to rent these apartments using false names, appropriate cover, and non-Moslem appearance." And in general: "Have a general appearance that does not indicate Islamic orientation (beard, toothpick, book,[long] shirt, small Koran)....Be careful not to mention the brothers’ common expressions or show their behaviors (special praying appearance, “may Allah reward you”, “peace be on you" while arriving and departing, etc.)...Avoid visiting famous Islamic places (mosques, libraries, Islamic fairs, etc.)."
And yet tomorrow on the talking head shows the learned analysts will still be saying that Assem Hammoud was obviously not an observant Muslim, because of this behavior. Of course, it's a long stretch from looking non-Muslim to engaging in behaviors Muslims consider immoral, isn't it? Not really. It's all part of the deception mandated by the prophet who taught that "war is deceit."

To prove her son was no jihadi, Qotob showed off photos yesterday of Hammoud with his father and lounging shirtless on a speeding motorboat in Germany.
There were also very un-Islamic pictures of Hammoud with three smiling women - none of them wearing veils - on his arm during an undated stay in Canada....
But Lebanese police, who arrested Hammoud on April 27, said in a statement that the suspect claimed he had been ordered to maintain a fun-loving, secular lifestyle to hide his Islamic militancy.
"He did just that with perfection," the police statement said....
FBI Assistant Director Mark Mershon said, "We know that he has acknowledged pledging a bayat or allegiance to Osama Bin Laden, and he proclaims himself to be a member of Al Qaeda."
Hammoud also told his captors that he was acting "on a religious order from Bin Laden and said, 'I am proud to carry out his orders,' " a Lebanese official said.
To carry out those orders, Hammoud planned to go to Pakistan for four months for training and had already undergone some light weapons instruction with a Syrian man who came to Lebanon this year, Lebanese cops said.
The Lebanese government said that instruction took place in the Ein Alhulwa camp, a Palestinian refugee camp that Middle East expert Nimrod Raphaeli called "an incubator of terrorism and a fountainhead of Islamist extremism."
Hammoud wouldn't be the first Islamic terrorist to live the good life to fool possible investigators.
Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, believed to be the mastermind of the 9/11 plot, had developed a reputation as a charming womanizer even as he plotted to blow up airplanes flying to the U.S. from Asia.
And some of the 9/11 attackers were known to frequent topless bars and pay for lap dances to keep their covers from being blown.

We've been at war since the carter presidency. The mo's have crossed are borders not to assimilate, or better our country. They've partied with American women since the disco days. Flash a little cash and the women would follow. They'd laugh about how stupid American ladies were, and couldn't wait to get back to iran when the ayatollah was gone,iraq when saddam was gone,syria when asasd sr. was gone. So they could marry a whole sum muslim woman, cause they saved themselves for marriage. All the muslim men I talked to said the hated America, and it immoral ways. They just had to wait for their, brother, cousin, uncle to come to America to run the gas station.

It seems the usual Islamic rules and observances can be suspended for the jihadists, on account of the importance of their mission:
Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 44: Narrated Abu Huraira: A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "Instruct me as to such a deed as equals Jihad (in reward)." He replied, “I do not find such a deed.” Then he added, “Can you, while the Muslim fighter is in the battle-field, enter your mosque to perform prayers without cease and fast and never break your fast?” The man said, "But who can do that?" Abu- Huraira added, “The Mujahid (i.e. Muslim fighter) is rewarded even for the footsteps of his horse while it wanders bout (for grazing) tied in a long rope.”
Not surprising then that these exhalted jihadists are permitted to engage in activities that are normally forbidden. 'Tequila' may be used for 'taqiyya' in Allah's Cause ("War is deceit"), as long as the jihadist does not intend to sin.
Re, the apparent womanizing, this may be permitted even without the whole jihad/war is deceit excuse, if it occurs in a foreign (non-Islamic) country (e.g., Canada, see above article). (Of course, the al-Qaeda types probably even view Lebanon as an infidel country).
In his in-depth article on Sex and Sexuality in Islam, Abul Kasem writes:
"...a Muslim man (whether married or not), while living in an infidel country, can...(...have sex) with any number of infidel women without even having the slightest fear of committing Zina (fornication) or adultery-This is what I found when I consulted the living and breathing Islam, that is, Sha'ria [the material below is quoted from the Hedaya; note 'Mussulman' means Muslim]:
"No punishment for Zina or adultery committed in a foreign country (ref. 11, p185) "Punishment is not incurred by committing whoredom in foreign country. If a Mussulman be guilty of whoredom in a foreign country, or in the territory of the rebels, and afterwards return into a Mussulman state, punishment is not to be meted out on him, on the plea that a man, in embracing the Mussulman faith, binds himself to all the obligations thereof, wherever he may be. The arguments of our doctors on this occasion are twofold; --FIRST, the Prophet has said, "punishment is not to be inflicted in a foreign land"; SECONDLY, the design of the institution of punishment is that it may operate as a prevention or warning; now the Mussulman magistrate has no authority in a foreign country, wherefore if punishment were instituted upon a person committing whoredom in a foreign country, yet the institution would be useless; for the use of the institution is that punishment may be executed; and as the magistrate has no authority in a foreign country, the execution is impossible; whence it appears that the commission of whoredom in a foreign country does not occasion punishment there; and if this person should afterwards come from the foreign territory into a Mussulman state, punishment cannot be executed upon him; because as his whoredom did not occasion punishment at the time of its being committed, it will not afterwards occasion."".

The "cool" Moslem is as suspect as the raving jihadist. Mohammedans who use Western names and hide or even deny their ideology (Islam) can be unmasked by such acts as offering pork products (pork rinds at a cocktail party for example) and openly insulting the false prophet. Unless they have complete control of their emotions, any change of expression or behavior should be noted.
Be careful, the insult to the false prophet could turn the "underground" Moslem into a sudden killer.
