I was only a matter of time. Al Qaeda has finally formed a unit in Kashmir, the birthplace of Vedic Hinduism and home to one of the four most sacred sites to the religion. Though Kashmir has been pretty much ethnically cleansed of its Hindus, Jammu still has a Hindu majority.

Piece of advice. Stay off our lands. You dont know what you are running into. Indian army doesnt give two hoots for the Geneva conventions and human rights. You'll end up getting tortured in Indian jails or if your are lucky, cannon fodder for the Indian guns. 36000+ Shahids in 15 years testify for that.

Dont bother. We know the answer to that - it is the return of India to Islamic rule.

What the Jihadis/Pakistan/Bangladesh are attemting is the piece meal dismemberment of India.

The Indian government should unleash Sikh and Gurkha regiments in Kashmir, instead of pussyfooting around.

Also a policy of settling these same Sikhs and Gurkhas, and other troops if they wish, in Kashmir when they leave the army, retaining as them as reserve troops, so they can keep their rifles.

This has two obvious advantages, as one can see immediately.

Actually DP111, Rajput, Jat, Maratha, Gurkha and Sikh regiments do form the bulk of army that serves in Kashmir. Infact Gurkhas are the ones that are in the forward posts. They say if a man says that he is afraid of death then he is either a liar or a Gurkha.

Unfortunately by article 370(a) of Indian constitution non-Kashmiri Indians cannot permanently settle in J&K thereby by ensuring Kashmir remains Muslim.

Even before Al Qeda's presence these bloody fucking Muslim pigs were blasting bombs with ease and beheading hindus in varous rights...Its no big deal the GOVT should focus firs to securing the Borders so that no infiltration occurs sand should curb the muslim pupulaton by restricting to one child

SRINAGAR: Militants killed five people, including four Hindus, in two separate incidents early on Thursday in continuing violence in Jammu and Kashmir.

Four Hindus, were killed in Magnar village in the border district of Poonch, about 240 km north of Jammu, around 1.30 am, police said. A woman and her daughter were also injured in the attack.

According to police, the militants descended on to the village and opened fire.

Among the killed were two sisters Monika and Priyanaka. Their mother Sunita Sharma and five-year-old sister Kamini also received bullet injuries. Two brothers, Lokesh Kumar and Pankaj Kumar, living nearby were also killed. Priyanka was going to be married next month.

The village was guarded by a defence committee. A CRPF picket was also nearby.

“We are investigating the case. We are trying to find how militants managed to force their entry into the village which has a heavy presence of security forces,” said a police officer.

In another incident, militants slit the throat of a young woman, Sakina Bee, in Chendriyal village in the border district of Rajouri.

Police say the militants killed Sakina, 26, suspecting her to be working for the security forces.

None. The problem is not al-Qaeda. It's the average Mohammedan everywhere, be it India, Serbia, Russia, Israel, US, UK, Europe, Australis and where have you.

And it's not just Muslim loyalty in India - Muslim loyalty anywhere and everywhere, except of course Islamic states, is unquestionable - it doesn't exist.

In a video sent to al jazeera in April, Osam abib Laden specifically mentioned Kashmir, something he hadn't usually done before. Admittedly he was in a rather expansive mood ranging from East Timor t o Darfur to Bosnia,in the course of his ramblings.His exact words were:

"Despite an old UN decision granting Muslim Kashmir freedom and independence from India, Bush, the leader of the Crusade, declared he will order his agent Musharref to shut down the camps of the Mujahideen from Kashmir. This shows that this is a Crusader-Zionist-Hindu war against the Muslims"

The formation of an Al Quaida unit in Kashmir by itself is not a major news event. Proxies of Al Quaida such as the Lashkar-e-Tayiba have been operating in and from Kashmir for decades. Its statement, however, portends dangerous times ahead. India has been, and is, a soft state when it comes to Islamic terrorism. Most of the politicians in India are callous and have no principles other than lining up their pockets, which requires them to be in power. With ~150 million muslims and a deeply divided hindus along caste lines, the vote bank calculus is obvious. Expect a lot of sound and fury from the Indian government about the Mumbai blasts, but little or no action.

I also suspect that the Indian politicians, particularly on the left, are in the receipt of campaign contributions from Islamic donors such as Iran, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. This, I think is a recent trend, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, which had , historically, financed the left parties, and the current party in power, Congress. The theocratic/Islamic terror sponsors, and the Socialist and Communist Parties of India are strange bed fellows indeed, but the left have no choice, if they were to have any chance of success in the elections. The main channel through which these funds flow, I further supect, is Bollywood, which is known to be controlled by the underworld led by Dawood Ibrahim. I admit, these are mere suspicions, but I cannot provide any evidence because of the total lack of transparency in the Indian campaign contributions.

In these and many other respects, India may be tottering on the edge of a failed state, and dangerously so, because it'd be the world's largest failed democracy. Just as it happened in Palestine, India's elected rulers, who will be either Islamic fundamentalists or those beholden to them, will claim legitimacy as did Hamas. I really hope this doesn't happen, but if it did, it'd be most cataclysmic for the civilized world. With a population of a billion and more, a sizeable fraction of them highly educated and technologically astute, India would provide the much needed strategic depth to Islam.

All of these lead me to question the wisdom of the recent Nuclear deal between the USA and India. It is too much to expect from India the same relsolve shown by Israel against Islam. Its demographics simply precludes this. The USA should, however, expect more from the Indian politicians than their shameless competitive appeasement of the followers of Islam. Unless and until India demonstrates the political will to counter Islam (not just Iran), the deal should be put on hold.

Being an Indian living in India,
I have to accept your analysis mimamsaka. Now the shameless Politicians were asking for reservations for muslims in the Army. Now that is really gong to get some of the military secrets to their Ummah.
US might probably not have known about this otherwise it would have apprehensions about the secrecy of critical technologies that are going to be transfered to India.
It is better US funds the Hindus and CIA should carry out assasinations of these secularists like Mulayam and other mullahs, their are many Hindus who are willing to do these and Indians will give a damn of soebodys death just as they fool saying Mumbai spirit and restore true Democracy in India.to acheive political power, otherwise by a few decades a new country is surely going to take birth in the Sub continent. another Islamic republic.
