Fast Food Jihad Update, from FoxNews:
KARACHI, Pakistan -- Hundreds of youths set fire to a Pizza Hut restaurant, two gas stations and a dozen vehicles in Pakistan's biggest city, Karachi, after Saturday's funeral for an Islamic Shiite cleric killed in a suicide attack.
Rioters rampaged through a busy commercial area a day after a suicide bomber killed cleric Allama Hassan Turabi, his cousin and a police guard.
Police fired shots in the air, swung batons and used tear gas to control the crowd.
[...]
Most of the crowd dispersed peacefully after the ceremony, but a gang of youths damaged shops and torched a Pizza Hut, two state-owned gas stations and several vehicles, apparently expressing general anger at the U.S. and Pakistani governments.
[...]
Pakistan is a key U.S. ally in what Washington calls the war on terror. Many Shiites identify Pizza Hut with the American administration and have burned the chain's outlets after previous attacks on their leaders.

Judge: “Did you say 'yoots'?”
Vinny: “Yeah, two yoots.”
Judge: “What is a 'yoot'?”
Vinny: “Oh, excuse me, your honor. Two youths.”

Islamic logic at its finest. A Shi'ite Muslim dies in a "suicide attack" - which likely means a Sunni Muslim did it. All the parties concerned will be (a) Muslims and (b) Pakistanis. So naturally a shop selling goods symbolic of Italian cuisine is torched as a protest against the American government, which (a) is not a Sunni organization and (b) does not own the pizza parlour.
And the media in the West, such as the BBC, is eager for us to turn our disapproval upon anyone but the Muslims. Currently, it would have us regard the Israeli Government with a basilisk stare, because it has finally acted to protect its citizens. Note this is a government whose only real shortcoming seems to have been to yield land it has every right to those who have no genuine claim upon it.
Thank you the Western media.

If someone doesn't put a stop to this, there really never will be pizza in the Middle East.

Muslim Kills Muslim, Muslims attack company associated with US...
The intelligence they are blessed with over there is frighting!
Maybe it's something to do with them marrying their 9 year old sisters and cousins or something!

What would the media say if all of a sudden the Texaco convenience stores were torched as a result of American "youths" being dissatisfied with the Muslim attack on Pizza Hut, or even....Israel?
Isn't Texaco and Shell, etc. now "identified" as being owned and operated by (gulp) those OPEC people from the middle east?

Let 'em torch. Pizza Hut's bottom line won't change, but their local economy suffers that much more. This obvious fact appears to still be beyond their grasp.

Yojimbo, brilliant points.
More seriously, why do companies that want to globalize set up shop in dar ul Islam? Don't they know that they are infidels?
Pizza Hut, Dominoes, McDonalds, BK, et al should all pull out of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Malaysia and all other parts of this Islamic empire. Don't target the theoretical 1b+ ummah market; let them provide their own food services, if they can.

First falafels, now pizza.
It is impossible to co-exist with hungry people who don't understand that food is to be eaten and not exploded.
If these youths had jobs they might be able to afford a personal pan and would certainly have a greater appreciation for American (Italian?) cuisine, but when one's vocational objective is to die for Allah the All Merciful, a job is admittedly rather pointless.
As they say, "Rape, pillage, and plunder, for tomorrow we shall die."

I'm surprised they were so destructive. I would have expected a candlelit vigil, maybe a collection for a humanitarian charity...something like that.

It makes perfect sense to attack a Pizza Hut when a Sunni terrorist group -- Sipaha-e-Sahiba or Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, or some group without a name -- assassinates a Shi'a cleric.
For in the Muslim scheme of things, whoever else may be to blame, in the end it is always the Infidels. They, and they alone.
The most famous case of this is that seizure of the Grand Mosque in Mecca in November 1979. It took three weeks for those apparently Iranian Shi'a (or were they not Shia, but disaffected Wahhabis, angry at Al-Saud corruption?) to be dislodged, finally by French troops hastily shehada-ed for the occasion, who then flushed -- in all senses -- the remaining insurgents out.
But while this was going on, there was upheaval in the Muslim world. And in Pakistan, of course, that has Islam and only Islam, Muslim mobs attacked the American embassy and consulates, and may even have killed a Marine on duty.
It made sense according to the teachings, and to the attitudes, and to the atmospherics of Islam. Something bad happens. Attack the Infidel.

And the Bush admin is still getting ready to send a large shipment of F16s to Pakistan.
I'm sure the Pakistanis won't be trashing the made-in-America labels on those items.
Goodness knows why they deserve those gifts, though.

The pizza hut in India has decided not to serve pork in its outlets in India in order to 'not offend muslim sensibilities'. This strategy was made by brilliant pizza hut managers, who, for fear of 'offending' the majority of whom are poverty struck and will never think of darkening the gates of one of their outlets.
They lost one Hindu customer. Permanently.

Did they get the cheese pizza to go before buring the Pizza Hut????????

They actually allow pizza in Muslim countries? That's just plain weird.

Yeah, I've noticed this. One of the most bizzare examples of this happened a few weeks ago when one of the Jihadis responsible for setting up Shari'a in Somalia desecrated an Italian cemetary with his buddies. He told journalists he did it to shame his clan, who he felt hadn't shown him enough support against local warlords in the fight for Mogadishu.
It makes perfect sense--when I feel my mother-in-law hasn't been showing me enough respect, I just head for the local Methodist cemetary and knock over a few headstones. You know, I don't usually have to go as far as actual desecration before she's on the phone to me with a heartfelt apology!
