Filled with spiritual fervor by their Friday prayers, Muslims in Lucknow offered a special act of devotion by burning the U.S. flag. For those of you who find it puzzling that they would be enraged by the "Zionist Regime's" attacks on innocent civilians while never saying a thing about Hizballah's many attacks on innocent civilians in Israel, remember: the civilians in Israel are, in the opinion of many imams, not innocent. Hence the Israeli action in Lebanon is unprovoked.
Hey, if CNN can swallow this sort of thing, don't expect anything more from the Islamic Republic News Agency (thanks to Twostellas).
Condemning the US's role in the Zionist Regime's attack on innocent civilians of Lebanon and Palestine, hundreds of agitated Muslims under the leadership of Shia Muslims Friday burnt the US national flag after offering Friday namaz in Lucknow, capital city of Uttar Pradesh.Raising slogans against the US government, the agitators alleged that it was US which is trying to create terror all over the world.
While condemning the `barbaric and inhuman act' of Zionist Regime and US, office bearers of Shia Ulema-e-Hind and Shia Democratic Alliance asked the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government to intervene in the matter and initiate talks to "keep a tab on Israel's activities.

Talk of non sequiturs and logical fallacies. I see no relationship at all between this article and CNN.
I thought only Muslims got frantic and dipped deep into sheep dip.
Give CNN a break (I certainly don't, CNN stood behind and backed GWB in both elections, and in the propaganda run up to the invasion of Iraq, I figured that they were Fox News Light, then again look at Fox News owned by the Saudis.
And CNN has Wolf Blitzer and his situation room, Wolf is well known amongst the anti "Zionists" as a Zionist and Israeli firster..in fact all of CNN has that reputation.
I am an unabashed admirer, fan and advocate of Israel, though a liberal atheist, and have always considered CNN to be the same.

The above link is to the Canadian Arab Federation that has now made an outright threat to the Government that supporting Israel will affect how Arabs vote in the next election, there is also a notice about a "Peaceful" protest July 22nd outside the Israeli Consulate in Totonto Canada.
Except the CAF is very close to CAIR/CAIR-Canada and we now know CAIR endorses Hamas and Hezbullah merely by CAIR's silence to condemn suicide bombers and the killing of Civilians by Islamists.
Several groups connected to the protest
are well know for the flag-burning and assaulting the Police and Police horses by throwing large amounts of marbles on the ground so the horse and rider get injured in a fall.
Saturday's rally is just another Jew-Bashing
hatefest with the usual Yahoo's like Sheema Khan,Dr.Mohammad Elmasry, and the parade of "Smith-Brother's" bearded Imams and cleric with yellow teeth and bad breath.
No doubt the PC mind set will force the Police to only arrest the non-violent/ non-Muslims and not the Islamofacsists burning flags and yelling death threats to Canada and Canadians.
Islam means Submission , and not Peace as Mr.Hooper at CAIR loves to spew to the MSM while he preaches hate in private.

ONE MORE MOST WANTED MISERABLE MUSLIM CAUGHT
From Express India
"Lashkar’s most wanted Indian face Abdul Karim Tunda is held in Kenya
Aman Sharma

Expert bomb-maker, he masterminded 40 blasts in 96-98
NEW DELHI, JULY 21:Kenyan Police said that they had arrested one of India’s most-wanted terrorists, Lashkar-E-Toiba’s Abdul Karim Tunda, AFP reported on Friday.
Anti-terrorism police in Mombasa said they had detained Tunda and would be turning him over to prosecutors for possible extradition to India. ‘‘We arrested him today (Thursday) in Mombasa,’’ a senior police official told AFP on condition of anonymity. A second senior Mombasa police official confirmed that a man authorities had identified as Abdul Karim Tunda—who was once declared dead in Bangladesh—had been detained.
Tunda, in his late sixties, is wanted in India for 33 criminal cases, 40 blasts in Delhi and neighbouring states that left 21 dead and over 400 injured. He was the mastermind of the series of bomb blasts in New Delhi, Panipat, Sonepat, Ludhiana, Kanpur and Varanasi between December 1996 and January 1998.
At his house in Ghaziabad’s Pilakhuwa area—where Tunda ran a homeopathic shop in Loharan Mohalla in the ’80s—lives his younger brother Abdul Malik, 63, a carpenter, his only immediate family member alive. ‘‘I have nothing to do with him and have not heard from him since 1998. Any punishment given to him would be less... he is responsible for so many deaths,’’ Malik told The Indian Express.
Malik says Tunda fled his home in Ghaziabad in 1998 before a Delhi police team came looking for him. ‘‘One of my relatives was arrested and is in jail serving a life sentence for helping Tunda escape. I never knew of the entire matter then. Since then, he has never contacted us,’’ says Malik.
The Indian High Commission in Nairobi is working to make a confirmation after photographs of Tunda were dispatched by the government. If and when confirmed, the government will look to have Tunda deported. The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson said this evening: “We have asked our High Commission in Kenya for a confirmed report on the fact. When we have it, we will let you know.”
Tunda’s story dates back to the early ’80s when he was allegedly initiated into terrorism by the ISI and crossed over to Pakistan where he underwent training in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Nicknamed Tunda for a handicap in his left arm, sustained in the course of bomb-making, Abdul Karim’s association with the Islamic fundamentalism predates his association with Lashkar.
Back in India, he and another top LeT militant, Azam Ghouri, joined Tanzeem Islah-ul-Muslimeen floated by Ahl-e-Hadis militant group, to avenge the Babri Masjid demolition, say police. Tunda’s first terrorist feat, as per police records, was brainwashing Jalees Ansari, a doctor with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, who triggered over 40 blasts in Mumbai and Hyderabad during 1992 and 1993. After Jalees’s arrest in January 1994, Tunda fled to Dhaka, Delhi police say.
‘‘In Dhaka, Tunda started imparting training to jehadi elements in bomb-making. He was a specialist in detonating pencil battery bombs. He came back (from Dhaka) to India to mastermind the deadly ’96-98 blasts. In almost all the blasts in Delhi during 1996-98, Tunda’s men, who were from Pakistan and Bangladesh, had detonated bombs using pencil batteries,’’ says a top Delhi Police Special Cell officer.
The most devastating of these blasts was in a crowded private bus at Punjabi Bagh in Delhi in December 1997. The blast occurred when the bus, running between Ajmeri Gate and Nangloi, reached Rampura in Punjabi Bagh, killing four commuters and injuring 24 people. The breakthrough for the police came with the arrest of Tunda’s two Bangladeshi ‘students’, Mati-ur-Rehman and Akbar alias Haroon, from Sadar Bazar railway station in February 1998. Delhi police arrested 24 other members of the module, including Tunda’s confidants, Kamran and Shakeel. The militants, who addressed Tunda as Baba, told police that they triggered the blasts at his instance, as per Delhi police FIRs.
The hunt for Tunda died down in 2000 when Intelligence agencies believed a news item that Tunda had been killed in a blast in Bangladesh. Tunda returned to the surveillance radar in August 2005 when Abdul Razzak Masood, an alleged LeT chief coordinator in Dubai arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police, disclosed that Tunda was alive and he had met him in Lahore in December 2003. Abdul also disclosed that Tunda had two wives and two sons.
Delhi police are now gearing up to bring Tunda to book. ‘‘We have received information that Tunda has been arrested. We will proceed accordingly now,’’ Delhi Police Joint CP (Special Cell) Karnal Singh says.
Tunda has been declared a proclaimed offender in the cases pending against him for the ’96-98 serial blasts.
The first conviction in the blast cases came in 2004 with a local Delhi court sentencing a Pakistani, Mohammad Hussain, to death. This year, on January 18, two Pakistanis, Aijaz Mohammed and Mohammed Hussain and their three Indian accomplices, were also sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment by a Delhi court.
Two other co-accused, Mohammed Umar Ali and Mohammed Abdul Qasim, were sentenced to five years’ rigorous imprisonment, for helping the five main accused and providing them with logistic support.

Ala-sux, this is the second day of pro-Lebanon demonstrations down here in southern Ontario. I wanted to link to my local paper, but the online version seems to have left out the report. I thought you all would find it interesting that the demonstration was actually called a 'Pro-Hizbollah' demonstration right in the newspaper. Since many of the participants chanted "Hizbollah, my Hizbollah, we love you, Nasrallah!" and other fun things like "Death to Jews!", I guess they got the headline correct. Dang I wish we could move tomorrow, but that wouldn't solve anything either. It's just getting scary here.

The usual anti-Israel protesters had a surprise rally in Toronto this past Thursday
at Yonge and Dundas , the media reported on Friday that a package was found in that area and it had a "Note" attached which triggered the Bomb-squad to clear the area and send in a robot to probe it.
The media would only say that the bag had a piece of clothing inside but the note made a reference to the Middle east issue, not one person made the link to the pro-Hezbullah hatefest merely hours earlier from the bag being spotted.
After 13 years of Liberals appeasing the pro-Palestine/Hamas voters we now must live with threats from the peace-loving immigrants that only want justice and peace for Allah , oh yeah, and the Earth purged of every Jewish pig and Israel destroyed.
Other than that , our Multicultural mosiac is the envy of the World.
BTW, the media and Police tried to mitigate the failed suicide-bomber at the Tim Horton's at Yonge and Bloor , Paul Martin finally told the truth about the threats made to the Subway system in Toronto by Al-Qeada , he lied to us because Madrid was attacked in March and our Federal election was in June and Martin gloated over the US losses in Iraq and used that to win the election.
Staying out of Iraq didn't take Canada of the terrorists hit list, and look how well France has done with rioting Islamists that have Paris Burning.

I have been checking Indian news sites, and I can't find the above story anywhere. Normally, this sort of news isn't censored by the Indian media, since they are only too happy to show demonstrations of solidarity with Muslims abroad.
That aside, the other thing that's interesting is the silence of Sunni groups. Yesterday, on Brit Hume's Special Report Grapevine, it was mentioned how a Wahabi cleric issued a fatwa against Hizbullah. In the above story, it's noteworthy that India's Sunni gang, which is the bulk of the Mohammedans there, isn't joining in. Have the Arabs got their message across?

Infidel Pride,
The shia - sunni fight in India, too. The sunnis, being the majority, manage to kill a lot of shias. In cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Aligarh, where there is a lot of muslim population, 'unidentified' corpses of muslims turn up all the time. These corpses are either of shias and sunnis, being butchered silently at night by their brothers who exploit every opportunity to kill each other. The shias are distinguished by their preference for black colour. If you see a muslim in black pj set, he is most probably a shia. The sunnis never wear completely black clothes, they go for white, which they wear anyway when going for namaz.

Burning flags can be less fun that any self-respecting exhibitionist takes it to be. These days they're frequently made of nylon and can burn in a spectacularly indiscriminate manner, igniting the protestor as well as the flag.

For the most part, muslims in India are keeping a low profile since the Mumbai blasts. The volumes of mosque speakers is way down, and I have seen only 7 skull caps since the blasts. They are keeping to their hovels, and very few are venturing out. Yesterday I went to a hovel. It is a considerable exercise to frequent one, because of the stink that is the permanent characteristic of any. I just want to know, if it is the feature in muslim hovels in other countries as well. Over here, one can tell a muslim hovel from the stench itself. I had a long shower when I got back.

Pakistan: Muslim Teacher Blows Himself Up In Class
http://www.westernresistance.com/blog/archives/002547.html
One wonders exactly what sort of subjects are on the curriculum in Pakistan's madrassas, or Islamic seminaries. News from Agence France Press via the Daily Times reports that in the divisional district of Dera Ismail Khan, in North-West Frontier Province, a man believed to be a pro-Taliban militant killed himself by accident in a religious school.
Apparently he was handling the grenade when it went off. He has been identified as Abdul Rahman. A security official said on condition of anonymity that the pin on his grenade was accidentally removed, and that two of his companions were wounded in the blast.
The incident happened in the town of Jandola, which lies next to South Waziristan district, where Pakistan Taliban have taken control, and have instituted Sharia law in the main city of Wana.
The issue of extremist Islam being taught in such madrassas has been questioned after two of the 7/7 bombers, Shehzad Tanweer and Mohammed Sidique Khan, were said to have attended an extremist madrassa in Pakistan before carrying out their suicide attacks in London last year. As a result, in July last year, 1,400 foreign students at madassas were asked to leave. In August, registration forms were handed to seminaries, requesting details of funding and spending.
Last August, the Daily Times noted that even standard school textbooks in state schools were advocating extremism, outside of the private madrassa system. These books describe Jews as tightfisted money-lenders, and Christians are vengeful conquerors. One standard school textbook even states that children should be willing to die as martyrs for Islam.
As we reported last September, the private madrassas have become havens for sexual and physical abuse of students. Some madrassas regularly keep their students tied up in chains. Chaining of children in madrassas also happens in India.
There are at least 20,000 madrassas in Pakistan, and at the end of last year, madrassas were given a deadline of December 31 to register and submit financial audits and performance records. The idea was then abandoned. 12,000 madrassas had not signed their registrations.
A similar move to register madrassas and have them disclose their accounts was urged by Musharraf in Spring, 2002, but this too appears to have been ignored. Most of the leadership of Afghanistan's Taliban were educated in Pakistani Deobandi madrassas, such as the Haqqania in North-West Frontier Province, where Mullah Omar was trained.
Now, apparently 75% of madrassas have registered, states Radio Australia, and Pakistan's foreign minister, Khursheed Kasuri, states that with registration, a system of curbing extremism can be negotiated.
Reuters reports that Kasuri has said in Washington: "We have done a lot. A lot more needs to be done. There's no tolerance for anybody who is teaching people how to fight. The government takes very strong action."
Next week, Javed Ashraf Qazi, the education minister, will be visiting Washington for talks, and to discuss changes within the madrassa system.
About a million boys are "educated" in the madrassas, and for many poor families, such an education is regarded as acceptable. The boys are fed and often boarded at these madrassas, and the families do not have to pay for this. Khursheed Kasuri has admitted that one obstacle to reform is that "madrassas are a major NGO and the poorest of the poor go there."
The federal government of Pakistan has now asked, states the Daily Times for a full list of madrassas which are being funded by militants in the North-West Frontier Province.
The incident in Jandola underscores the urgent necessity of such action. The NWFP administration (it has its own Assembly) has been asked to monitor the activities of these seminaries.
Sources at the Home Department state that madrassas which had previously been closed down are now re-opening, this time at the private residences of the madrassa teachers. Intelligence agencies have also been charged to keep tabs on madrassas, and inform the federal government of their findings

I dont understand why India tolerates this people. Just pack & send them back to pakistan.
Someone earlier posted that they even burnt the India Flag, Its true, I seen the pictures. In this, I saw them holding a black flag with some arabic words - could be quranic.
This is [puzzling] strange. They want everything they cant possibly give.
India should remind them how they became muslims in the 1st place:
1. Their grand parents were killed defending India.
2. Their children & wifes were taken as slaves & forcefully converted to Islam.
For those who converted willingly, it wont probably concern you.
But in general, its a bad wave to destabalise India. It should be stopped.
at July 22, 2006 10:14 AM
I read the Times of India only now. It has images taken in a mosque. muslims over here are using American and Israeli flags as prayer mats in mosques. They think they are insulting when they tread on the flags. Another image looks like it is of a hezbollah rally. Girls, their faces hidden in balaclavas, with headbands on which there is some urdu writing. Only the image was not taken in the middle east. It was a Kashmiri muslim rally in support of hezbollah in Srinagar, India.

at July 22, 2006 2:44 PM
monk, because there's an old Islamic saying that goes "What's mine is mine, what's yours we share"
Anyhow, read this editorial in India's Pioneer newspaper:
Rise above ummah victimhood
Swapan Dasgupta
What do you say to a Prime Minister who, a few days after ruling out the re-introduction of a POTA [Prevention of Terrorist Activities] legislation, admits to a meeting of Chief Secretaries that our response to terrorism has been "inadequate"? Should we praise Manmohan Singh for realising the truth? Alternatively, should we pillory him for abdicating one of the prime responsibilities of government-the protection of the citizen?
Since the serial blasts in Mumbai on July 11, the Government has been conducting itself like a headless chicken. Having flaunted a ritualistic G-8 condemnation of the bombings as a spectacular diplomatic triumph, it went into a tailspin after the world leaders greeted the charge of the ubiquitous Pakistani hand with more than a measure of scepticism. To cap it all, the country had to be subjected to the cocky insolence of President Pervez Musharraf demanding "proof" of Pakistan's involvement. Having put the "peace process" on hold before embarking for St. Petersburg, Manmohan Singh returned a mellowed man.
Nor have things been any better on the domestic front. First, there was the outrageous insinuation by Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh that Hindu groups had a habit of committing atrocities and blaming the "other". The theme was gratefully echoed by loose cannons like the Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid and the redoubtable general secretary of the West Bengal Communist Party of India (Marxist) Biman Bose. The Shahi Imam was addressing his congregation after Friday prayers and Bose was addressing a Milli Council meeting in Kolkata. Like good secularists they felt that a convenient way of averting awkward questions of culpability is to turn victimhood on its head, even if it means whitewashing murderers. Second, there were desperate attempts to deflect attention from the Government's own failings by attacking Narendra Modi for what he did not say in Mumbai last week and Jaswant Singh for what he did not do in Kandahar seven years ago.
Finally, in an act that straddled a twilight zone between stupidity and lunacy, the Government decided to ape totalitarian China and block access to blogsites. Reuters quoted Gulshan Rai, director of the Government-run Indian Computer Emergency Response Team justifying the ban because "the blogs are pitting Muslim against non-Muslim."
The Government's disorientation is not the result of some Inspector Clouseau being at the helm. It is a consequence of its inability to face up to the political ramifications of the Mumbai blasts. The investigations may not have produced concrete results as yet but they definitely point to the involvement of home-grown Muslim terrorists.
This comes as no surprise. The March 1993 blasts were also the handiwork of home-grown terrorists, many of whom subsequently fled to Pakistan, as were the Ghatkopar and Gateway of India bombings in 2003. The 1993 and 2003 blasts were attributed to retaliation for the Mumbai and Gujarat riots respectively. What was the July 11 carnage meant to convey? That jihadis have the ability and technology to bleed India to death?
Since no group has yet claimed responsibility, the motives are still a matter of conjecture. However, the portents from the Varanasi bombings, the RDX haul from Ellora and the foiled fidayeen attacks on Ayodhya and the RSS headquarters in Nagpur are ominous. Despite official attempts to point accusing fingers at foreign paratroopers, all these incidents involved Indian jihadis. In other words, while there may be an overseas command centre of global jihad - maybe located in Pakistan - the war is actually being conducted by fiercely motivated locals.
The leadership of the Indian Muslim community can no longer take refuge in denial. Nor is there any percentage in appealing to Sonia Gandhi to stop racial profiling by the police. After Mumbai, the community bears a collective responsibility for isolating and hounding out the radicals. For this to happen, it is incumbent that Indian Muslims dissociate completely from pan-Islamism. A clutch of half-baked and fanciful theories of ummah victimhood in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, et al, are responsible for turning gullible youth into monstrous killers.

The day after mumbai blasts, Minister for Human resources development, Mr Arjun Singh reiterated his stand for 15% reservation for Muslims. For those of you who are not familiar with reservation in India, welcome to twisted social justice by lefties(http://www.theindiancatholic.com/ newsread.asp?nid=2310 )

Indian Muslims are burning the US Flag because they fear that SIMI ideologies would be marginalized, if they (Muslims) didn't do so. How funny !
There is an article by B. Raman on the Rediff, (July 22nd, 2006) and posted below in its entirety. This article documents incidents that suggests that USA is soft on Pakistan, and would turn a blind eye to any of its atrocities. Probably, that coinclusion by Raman is a stretch. However the Times of India reports that the "alleged" LeT operative, held in Mombasa, Kenya and wanted for Mumbai and other blasts in India, is really not a LeT operative but a West African national. This to me is strange. I sense a foreign hand. This realization comes at a time when Khursheed Kasuri has reeatedly stated that Pakistan will not allow India to grill the LeT leaders. Thanks to the effects of the peace talks. Connecting the dots it appears sensible to speculate that once again, Uncle Sam has come to the rescue of Pakistan. I would specualte that Pakistan, upon getting the news that Tunda was apprehended at Monbasa and about to be sent for extradition, had appealed to USA for help and USA pressured Kenya to recant the story regarding arrest of Tunda. If this speculation is true, then India needs to realize that it has a hard fought battle ahead, in terms of PR etc. For all its hype India has not been able to get USA to declare Pakistan as a terroristr state. Perhaps Hindus love Muslims from their heart, way too much. USA knows that it cannot rely on India because of its crazy and unpredictable policies, and with the multitude of parties like CPI(M), Congress etc., wo arfe anti-Israel and pro-Palestine. Maybe that's why USA feels that Pakistan could be a better ally, since it is a known devil.

'Never trust the US on Pakistan'
July 21, 2006
There has been considerable disappointment in India over what is perceived as the continuing US reluctance to act against Pakistan for using terrorism against India.
The negative attitude of President Bush and the US State Department in the wake of the Mumbai blasts of July 11 is nothing new. Protection of Pakistan from the consequences of its wrong-doing against India has been a consistent element in US policy-making towards India and Pakistan ever since our independence in 1947 -- whichever party was in power in Washington, DC.
To illustrate this, I am giving below instances, which were within my personal knowledge as an officer of the Intelligence Bureau from July 1967 to September 1968, and of the Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) from September 1968 to August 31, 1994:
The Sino-Indian war of 1962 brought out the serious inadequacies in the IB's capability for the collection of technical intelligence about China. After obtaining then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru's approval, the IB sought the assistance of US intelligence for strengthening its TECHINT capability.
US intelligence, with the approval of John F Kennedy, then the US president, agreed to supply the required equipment and train IB officers who would be using this equipment. However, it imposed a condition that this equipment would be used only for the collection of TECHINT from China and not from Pakistan. When R&AW was formed in September 1968, with the late Rameshwar Nath Kao as its head, the division handling this equipment was transferred to R&AW.
In the 1970s, Kao visited Washington, DC at the invitation of the then director of the Central Intelligence Agency to discuss Indo-US intelligence cooperation.
Some years later, Kao told me that during his discussions in Washington DC, the CIA chief told him as follows: 'Ramji, we all cheat in this profession. I know R&AW will cheat and use the equipment given by us for the collection of TECHINT about Pakistan. Make sure our State Department does not come to know of it. If it does, the State Department will demand that we cancel our cooperation with you and withdraw from you the equipment given by us. I will have to do this.'
Between 1981 and 1984, Khalistani terrorists hijacked a number of Indian Airlines aircraft to Lahore. When one of these aircraft landed in Lahore, Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence found the hijackers had no weapons.
They had intimidated the pilot into flying to Lahore by claiming that they had a weapon which they would use if he did not obey their instructions. The ISI gave the hijackers a German-made revolver. They used that revolver to intimidate the pilot to take the plane to Dubai. The Dubai authorities terminated the hijacking, seized the revolver from the hijackers and handed it over to the Indian authorities.
R&AW sought the assistance of the then West German intelligence to find out who this revolver was sold to by the German company that had manufactured it. After making enquiries, the West German intelligence replied that the revolver seized by the Dubai authorities from the Khalistani hijackers was part of a consignment sold by the West German company to the Pakistan army.
The State Department was not prepared to accept this as adequate proof of Pakistani sponsorship of terrorism against India.
After the Khalistanis took to terrorism in 1981 with the ISI's assistance, the IB and R&AW collected a lot of intelligence regarding ISI training camps in Pakistani Punjab for the terrorists, the arms and ammunition supplied by the ISI to the terrorists etc.
Whenever we produced this intelligence before the US authorities and requested them to act against Pakistan, they would reject it on the ground that the intelligence was gathered during interrogation of suspects, who must have been tortured by the Indian police.
When we produced technical intercepts, they would reject them on the ground that it was difficult to prove their authenticity.
After the blowing up of Air India's Kanishka off the Irish coast on June 23, 1985, Western intelligence agencies got worried over the activities of the Khalistani terrorists. Many of them started monitoring the activities of the terrorists. They collected valuable technical intelligence regarding the ISI's assistance to the terrorists.
One Western agency even collected intelligence that the ISI had given shelter in Pakistani territory to Talwinder Singh Parmar, the leader of the Babbar Khalsa in Canada, who was actively involved in blowing-up the Kanishka.
These agencies (not those of the US) shared with R&AW all the intelligence collected by them about the links between the ISI and Khalistani terrorists. I was asked to visit the headquarters of these intelligence agencies, meet my counterparts and request them to share with the CIA the intelligence collected by them regarding the Pakistani sponsorship of terrorism.
I did so, and told my counterparts: "Look, I have not been able to convince the CIA about the Pakistani sponsorship. Every time I produce any intelligence, the CIA rejects it on some ground or the other. You have collected your own independent intelligence. If you share it with the CIA, it would find it difficult to reject it."
All my interlocutors gave me identical replies: "We know the CIA has more intelligence regarding the Pakistani sponsorship of terrorism against India than all of us together have. The CIA was convinced a long time ago about the ISI's sponsorship of terrorism. The problem is not with the CIA. It is with the State Department, which does not want to act against Pakistan."
In the early 1990s, Lal Singh alias Manjit Singh of the International Sikh Youth Federation clandestinely came to India from Pakistan. The Gujarat police arrested him. He was wanted in a number of cases in India, the US and Canada.
I informed my counterparts in the Canadian and US intelligence that they could send their officers to interrogating him. I assured them that no Indian officer would be present during the interrogation. The Canadians availed of the offer and sent a police officer to interrogate him. The US agencies decided not to avail of the offer.
I came to understand later that the State Department advised them not to send anybody to interrogate him. It was apparently afraid that if Lal Singh gave the US interrogator details of the ISI's role, it would find it difficult to reject his evidence as possibly obtained through torture.
In 1992, under the instructions of (then prime minister P V) Narasimha Rao, the IB, R&AW and the ministry of home affairs mounted a coordinated campaign to make the international community and US political and public opinion aware of the Pakistani sponsorship of terrorism against India.
The IB and R&AW prepared a detailed dossier giving details of all the evidence collected by them against the ISI. A team consisting of two officers of the home ministry and one from the IB was sent to Washington to hand over copies of this dossier to the US authorities and request them to declare Pakistan as a State sponsor of terrorism.
After doing so, they also presented the dossier at a press conference at the Washington Press Club. The State Department summarily rejected the dossier.
In 1992, terrorists belonging to the Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Front attacked a group of young Israeli tourists, who had gone to J&K. They killed one of them and kidnapped another, who was subsequently released. Following this incident, Jewish circles started criticising the unsympathetic attitude of the US towards India's complaints against Pakistan.
Just before the presidential elections of November 1992, President George H W Bush, the father of the present president, reportedly ordered a second look at the dossier against Pakistan submitted by India.
The officials, who did so, reportedly recommended that instead of declaring Pakistan a State sponsor of terrorism, it could be placed in a list of suspected State sponsors of terrorism. Bush, who lost the election to Bill Clinton, did not act on the recommendation. He left the decision to his successor.
After assuming office in January 1993, Clinton placed Pakistan on a list of suspected State sponsors of terrorism. The weighty nature of the Indian dossier played a role in this decision, but there was a more important reason. The CIA had developed a strong dislike of Lieutenant General Javed Nasir, the then director general, ISI, for not cooperating with a drive launched by it to persuade the Afghan mujahideen to sell back to the US their unused stock of Stinger missiles, given to them for use against Soviet troops.
The US used the Indian dossier to force then prime minister Nawaz Sharif to remove Javed Nasir and some other ISI officers, whom it looked upon as uncooperative in its efforts to buy back the Stinger missiles. Nawaz Sharif complied.
Benazir Bhutto, who was then the leader of the Opposition, rang up Peter Galbraith, son of former the US ambassador to India J K Galbraith, and some other university mates of hers, who were close friends of Clinton, to request them to see that Pakistan was not declared a State sponsor of terrorism.
She told them she expected elections to be held in Pakistan later that year and that she was confident of coming back to power. She assured them that if she came back as prime minister, she would stop the ISI's use of terrorism against India.
In July 1993, Warren Christopher, the then secretary of state, announced that the US had decided to remove Pakistan from the list of suspected State sponsors of terrorism for want of adequate evidence. Benazir Bhutto won the elections in October 1993, and returned as prime minister. But she did not ask the ISI to stop the use of terrorism against India. R&AW must have in its archives the transcripts of Bhutto's telephonic conversations with Peter Galbraith and others.
During the investigations into the serial blasts of March 12, 1993 in Mumbai, the IB and R&AW collected the following evidence regarding the involvement of the ISI:
Photocopies of the manifests of the Pakistan International Airlines regarding the travel of the perpetrators from Dubai to Karachi for training and their return to Dubai after the training;
Their traveling with visas on plain sheets of paper issued by the Pakistani consulate in Dubai so that their Indian passports did not carry any entry of their visit to Pakistan;
Evidence of their being received at Karachi airport and driven directly from the tarmac into the city without having to pass through immigration; statements of the perpetrators in which they gave the details of the training and arms and ammunition given to them by the ISI;
Evidence that they fled to Karachi via Dubai or Kathmandu after the blasts and from there were taken to Bangkok and kept there for a month by the ISI.
All this evidence was rejected by the US as falling short of proving Pakistani complicity.
The police recovered from the blast site some hand grenades of Austrian design and a timer. Austrian experts flew to New Delhi, examined the hand-grenades and certified in writing that these grenades were of Austrian design and had been manufactured in a Pakistani government ordnance factory with technology and machine tools sold by an Austrian company to the Pakistan government.
They said the Government of India could use their report for any purpose it desired.
American counter-terrorism experts, who visited Mumbai at our invitation, saw the timer and said that it looked like timers manufactured in the US. They wanted to take it to the US for forensic examination. They promised they would return it after the examination. I agreed to it.
After some days, they sent me an unsigned report on a plain piece of paper that the timer had been manufactured in the US and was part of a consignment given by the US to Pakistan in the 1980s.
I pointed out this was the smoking gun which they had been asking for and said they should now be able to declare Pakistan a State sponsor of terrorism.
They said this was not sufficient evidence against the government of Pakistan. They claimed that there were instances of leakage of arms and ammunition from Pakistan government stocks into the hands of arms smugglers and contended that the terrorists could have procured it in the smugglers market. They also said their report could not be used by us in a court of law.
When I asked them to return the timer, they claimed their forensic laboratory had destroyed the timer by mistake and that they were taking action against the lab for negligence.
After my retirement, I used to narrate to Kao and others how the Americans cheated me by destroying the timer. Once, Kao asked: "How were you so naive in trusting them and handing over the timer to them? One should never trust the US in matters concerning Pakistan. The US will never act against Pakistan for anything it does to India."
This is as valid today as it was in the past.

The muslims don't want to live with the Hindus, they start killing them at the first opportunity. And when struck back, this happens.

The loftists and so called social study workers howl about 'muslim ghettos'. Nobody addresses the issue that the muslims don't want to have a higher standard of living, they enjoy the dirty hovels.

Has any desi figured out why Princess Kimberly was banned? I visited her site, and there was nothing about Muslims, Hindus, Jews, anybody. Let me know if you've figured out why any dhimmi/Muslims would want to censor it - I haven't. I'm reproducing one of her posts, so that India based viewers who can't access her site can enlighten me.
Who has the most boring life ever? I do!And no, I'm not interested in her blog - I'm just curious about how the minds of India's censors work. And given that the Marxists are 'supporters' of this government from outside, why is anybody surprised?
So, yes.. My life is extremely boring! Nothing too exciting to post today.
The 2nd 1/2 of my spring break was a lot of fun.. I went and stayed w/ Stopher and his family in Houston. Went to Galveston to the beach and rode the ferry. Went to the rodeo and saw Pat Green. Then stood around at a family gathering that his mom's side of the family had. It was like a senior citizen convention. Break out the dominoes and pour some beer! Anyway, good times! I went back to Arlington on Sunday to eat dinner w/ Melbany.. IHOP.. yummy! :) Made it to class this week.. 2 days in a row. Go Kim! Anyway.. Nothing exciting happening now. I just got done kicking Stopher's ass at Solitaire Showdown. But when do I not? :) j/k. I've got a huge test to study for so I'm out!
Peace, Love, and Salsa.

Lashkar-e-Taiba and Mumbai 7/11 Commuter Train Bombings.
The connection is being dug out. It appears that India is having a "hard time" because actual LeT operatives don't operate inside India since a few months ago. The SIMI (STudent Islamic Movement of India) provides support and frontline personnel.
Many Muslims from Bhawalpur and elsewhere travel to Saudi Arabia on Hajj travel and are subsequently whisked away to Jihadi camps in Pakistan where LeT now gets them undxer their paws. The transformed Muslim pilgrim is now a feared Jihadi who is all poised to wreck havoc inside India. Read on from Hindustan Times ...

Arabian story: Lashkar’s Saudi connection
Arun Joshi
Jammu, July 24, 2006
Saudi Arabia is an important stopover for Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) men on their way to Pakistan for training.
The terrorists -- mostly from Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad -- travel on valid visas to Saudi Arabia from where LeT contacts arrange their passage to Pakistan, say intelligence reports on the group and its operation.
The outfit, which has spread its wings to Bosnia, Chechnya, Algeria and Egypt, is under increased surveillance after the 11/7 Mumbai serial blasts and the Kashmir strikes.
Intelligence sources said since Saudi Arabia is home to two of the holiest Muslims pilgrimage spots -- Mecca and Medina -- travellers from India are usually considered above board.
The terror modules are shipped to Pakistan from Jeddah and other port cities, sources said. In Pakistan, the LeT operatives from the sub-continent -- India, Bangladesh and Nepal -- and Saudi Arabia train at the LeT’s “foreigners’ camp” in Cholestan at Bhawalpur near Bhootan Wala Taba.
This camp is manned by Abu Usman -- a Punjabi-speaking group commander. Professor Azeem Cheema alias “Baba of Faislabad” also call the shots, along with Usman.
Besides indoctrination of terrorists into Jihadi philosophy, which in case of Indian terrorists is to strive for secession of Kashmir from India and cause largescale disruption by acts of terror, they are given military training at Maskar Abdullah Bin Masood, Serikote, Markaz-e-Toiba, Chela Bandi, Maskar Umar Quarra, Chela Bandi near Nisar Army Camp and Maskar-e-Aksa (in Muzzfarabad).
Other camps are located near Bhawalpur Textile Mills, Maskar-e-Abu Baseer (code Dera Cholestan), Bhawalpur, Foreigners Complex, Cholestan, and Maskar Shekh Imam Ibne Taiemia and Badali Kotli in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
The basic training is followed by an eight-month advance course at Maskar-e-Abu Baseer (code Dera Cholestan), Bhawalpur, where the rookies learn to make explosive devices, hurl grenades, “select target” firing, code messaging on palm tops, infiltration, driving, cooking and even the art of disguise -- to resemble Indians.
They are also taught elementary Hindi, religion -- Hinduism amd Sikhisim -- and how to motivate “jihadis”. The fence-cutting technique is an integral part of the module. Most of the “trained” Indians -- who return via Saudi Arabia -- get in touch with the operatives in Jammu and Kashmir, when required. They work in tandem with outfits like Jaish-E-Mohammad and Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen.

Another gem from Shahi Bukhari at Delhi's Jama Masjid. The source is:

If this continues, and India shamelessly appeases Muslims, how would world take India's claims with any seriuousness ? No wonder Bush rubbished Manmohan Singh's claims about Pakistan-based LeT operatives planning the Mumbai 7/11 blast.
Of course the last paragraph is the kicker.

Shahi Imam ''absolves'' LeT, blames RSS for Mumbai blasts
New Delhi | July 18, 2006 12:44:10 AM IST
Using a rostrum overlooking the majestic Red Fort, the Shahi Imam of Delhi's grand old Jama Masjid today hit out at the principal political rivals of the United Democratic Front (UDF) he has floated ahead of Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh while challenging the charge that Islam breeds terrorists.
''I can say with authority that it is not any Muslim but the Shiv Sena, the RSS and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad who are responsible for the serial blasts in Mumbai,'' Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari told a gathering inside the historic mosque.
He cited the recent Sena backlash against the defilement of a statue of the late wife of the party chief as evidence that the Saffron forces were desperate to politically revive themselves in Maharashtra.
The Imam was of the opinion that Muslim men were being blamed for ''every'' terrorist outrage as part of a deep rooted conspiracy.
Community members were being harassed by law enforcing agencies in Mumbai in the wake of the serial blasts even though they had ''no role in the anti-Islamic outrages'', he said, slamming the Congress Governments in Maharashtra and at the Centre.
''Why is it that security forces blame the Lashkar-e-Toiba within ten minutes of a blast. If they already know who did it, why don't they go ahead and arrest the culprits well before the crime is done,'' he asked.
He said he was willing to visit Pakistan and ''talk'' to the LeT commanders if he was given proof of its involvement in terrorist incidents in India. ''If they are responsible then we will talk to them, tell them that they do more harm to the cause of Islam and to Muslims in India through their actions''.
Imam Bukhari said he was worried that while real culprits went scot free and trigerred more blasts, ordinary Muslims were becoming terror suspects in the eyes of the people and the police. ''Every bearded man becomes a suspect'', he said.
Charging the security forces with perpetrating excesses on Muslims, he said terrorism could not be wiped out in such a manner.
''If you want to end terrorism, then you would also have to end State terrorism''.
''The Government should handle the issue of terrorism tactfully.
We want equality before the law'', he said, alleging that the ''yardstick'' was different when it concerned violence perpetrated by Maoists and insurgent groups in the North-East.
He hit out at the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, saying these ''so-called secular parties'' were to blame for all the ills afflicting Muslims today.
''When Muslims get targeted under these so called secular parties, it is time we teach them a lesson. It is time Shias, Sunnis, Ansaris, Saifis, Barelvis, Qureshis and all else stand up as one -- as Muslims -- and snatch back our collective rights and dignity,'' the Imam said, asking the community to stand up to the political challenge.
''We were rulers here for 800 years. Inshaallah, we shall return to power here once again'', he said to loud approval by the nearly 200 assembled men.
