This morning in FrontPage I discuss the August 22 deadline that Iran's Thug-In-Chief has given for responding to the West's jizya offer (news links in the original):
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has frustrated Western officials by refusing to reply to their offer of various incentives in exchange for Iran’s discarding its nuclear program until August 22. The Western governments had asked Ahmadinejad to reply by June 29; why would Tehran need two extra months?Farid Ghadry, the president of the Reform Party of Syria, has offered a provocative explanation for this delay. He asserts that the Supreme National Security Council of Iran chose the August 22 date “for a very precise reason. August 21, 2006 (Rajab 27, 1427) is known in the Islamic calendar as the Night of the Sira’a and Miira’aj, the night Prophet Mohammed (saas) ascended to heaven from the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem on a Bourak (Half animal, half man), while a great light lit-up the night sky, and visited Heaven and Hell also Beit al-Saada and Beit al-Shaqaa (House of Happiness and House of Misery) and then descended back to Mecca.…”
The Night Journey, or Miraj, is central to Islam’s claim to Jerusalem as an Islamic holy city. According to Islamic tradition, Muhammad was carried on a Buraq, a miraculous horse with a human head, from Mecca to Jerusalem, where he ascended into heaven and met the other prophets. The only thing the Qur’an has to say about it is this: “Glory to (Allah) Who did take His servant for a Journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the farthest Mosque, whose precincts We did bless, in order that We might show him some of Our Signs: for He is the One Who heareth and seeth (all things)” (17:1). There is no identification of the “farthest Mosque” with any mosque in Jerusalem in this, but the Hadith is very clear on the identification of its location with Jerusalem. The traditions say that Muhammad and the Buraq, along with the angel Gabriel, went to the Temple Mount, and from there to heaven itself, where Muhammad encountered various prophets. In the sixth heaven was Moses, occasioning a dig at the Jews. “When I left him,” Muhammad says, “he wept. Someone asked him, ‘What makes you weep?’ Moses said, ‘I weep because after me there has been sent (Muhammad as a Prophet) a young man, whose followers will enter Paradise in greater numbers than my followers.’”
Evidently, however, Muhammad’s stories of his journey were not altogether convincing: even some of the Muslims abandoned their faith and challenged Muhammad’s most faithful follower, Abu Bakr, to do the same. Abu Bakr was contemptuous: “If he says so then it is true. And what is so surprising in that? He tells me that communications from God from heaven to earth come to him in an hour of a day or night and I believe him, and that is more extraordinary than that at which you boggle!” The world has continued to witness such unshakeable devotion from Muslims to this day.
Did Muhammad really go anywhere? According to his favorite wife, Aisha, he did not: “The apostle’s body remained where it was but God removed his spirit by night.” Nevertheless, the Night Journey has become firmly embedded in the Islamic consciousness, such that Muslims today celebrate it as one of the central events of Muhammad’s life. And now, according to Ghadry, Ahmadinejad is planning an illumination of the night sky over Jerusalem to rival the one that greeted the Prophet of Islam on his journey. What the Iranian President, he says, is “promising the world by August 22 is the light in the sky over the Aqsa Mosque that took place the night before. That is his answer to the package of incentives the international community offered Iran on June 6.”
Certainly a nuclear attack on Jerusalem or even an all-out conventional assault against Israel by Iran would be consistent with Ahmadinejad’s oft-repeated denials of Israel’s right to exist and recent predictions that its demise was at hand. He hinted at the use of nuclear weapons in his phrasing when he said that Israel “pushed the button of its own destruction” by finally retaliating against Hizballah’s relentless rocket barrage from south Lebanon.
“Arrogant powers,” Ahmadinejad said, “have set up a base for themselves to threaten and plunder nations in the region. But today, the occupier regime” – that is, Israel – “whose philosophy is based on threats, massacre and invasion, has reached its finishing line.”
Will he attempt to make good on these threats this year on the anniversary of the Miraj, illuminating the night sky over Jerusalem? Will Western powers heed Farid Ghadry’s words and move to stop Iran before it is too late?

So, the Al-Quaeda deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri has issued a "new" video....
What is it with these "video" communications?
I think it is high time those who view Islam for what it is: a destruction driven, domination at all costs organization (certainly not a "religion), to assemble a series of videos aimed at the very heart of Islam, not only in Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, but here in the US, Canada and South America, as well as the Pacific Rim.
It seems that is the method of communication they prefer: edicts, threats and "profound" commentary on the consquences of the infidel's actions.
These videos, will be a direct response to the leaders of Islam - speaking with the same rhethoric, using demonstrations of how Islamic terrorists will be dealt with, as they have done with us.
Do I really believe this will make a difference? Not really, but it will communicate with them on their level, with their method of communication, and with elements of logic they will grasp.
I do not expect any of the Islamists to hear any other drum other than their own beating loudly in their ear. However, if a pointed and well focused video could be produced "on their level", it might be reasonable to assume it would make sense to them.
Our diplomatic approaches to them are useless. Even the military responses, while needed, are useless and impotent. They have proven over the last 10 - 12 generations, they can wait, and chip away patiently, moving toward their desired ends.
I see no other response to them other than the approach they are using with the rest of the world: Infiltrate, blend in, terrorize, divide, create chaos and distraction, while building a campaign of fear and destruction.
Time for some responsive videos.

OT:
The Iranian REZA MAMIPOUR ABRI will not be deported from Germany.
a link to collect signatures here at JW several days ago has helped tremendously in generating international awareness for his case.
The legal court of Ansbach in Bavaria, Germany granted asylum to him on the grounds that as an apostate from Islam his life could indeed be endangered should he be deported to Iran under present contitions in the middle east.

Minnie may go down in a blaze of self induced glory.
Islam has lost all sense of reality. Any hostile action initiated by Minnie will certainly result in a substantial loss of Muslim life.

Ironic that while we have this new ME crisis, a prayer book with Psalm 83 was found in a Irish bog not too long ago. It spoke about Isreal and those who are against Isreal and God defending Isreal.

ROBERT - Your posting has no mention of the Mahdi.
The return of the Mahdi is central to Mahmoud's beliefs and coupled with the reasons you mentioned the controlling influence for his actions.
22nd August will go down in history as the day the West didnt listen.
Mahmoud might as well say "on the 22nd of August we will launch a nuclear strike at Jerusalem or Tel Aviv, using the Uranium that you have so kindly stood by and allowed us to enrich".
Even then the media and world leaders would not take notice.
Remember Mahmoud believes that in order to help the Mahdi return he must create the right chaotic environment of war. The Mahdi was foretold to return in the year following two eclipses inside the month of Ramadan. This eclipse already happened this year. This year is the hebrew year 5766. Which will end in October 2006.
Thus before Oct 2006 he has to launch his nukes etc and create havoc.
EVERYONE HERE (on Jihadwatch) SHOULD BE INFORMING THE POLITICIANS IN EACH OF THIER COUNTRIES OF THIS THREAT TO MAKE SURE THE WARNING IS SPREAD AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE.
WILL WE ALL JUST SIT BACK AND LET THIS HAPPEN???

Now this is I was speaking to:
In the message broadcast by Al-Jazeera television, Ayman al-Zawahri, second in command to
Osama bin Laden, said that al-Qaida now views "all the world as a battlefield open in front of us."
The Egyptian-born physician said that the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and Palestinian militants would not be ended with "cease-fires or agreements."
"It is a Jihad for the sake of God and will last until (our) religion prevails ... from Spain to Iraq," al-Zawahri said. "We will attack everywhere." Spain was controlled by Arab Muslims until they were driven from power at the turn of the 16th century.
How much more clear do they need to be with us. They are telling us out-right that they will not stop Jihad. for any reason.
How long will it take for Politicians to realize they are not making relevant steps to resolve the situation, but only preserve the mistaken relationships they now have.

Is Jihad Watch just a talking shop or does it have a higher purpose?
It's great to chat away and moan at all these news stories but maybe we should all ask ourselves - WHAT AM I ((DOING)) about it.
I bet very few here calls thier politicians or local/national media to highlight the threat from Islam that we all face.
All evil needs to succeed is for good men to STAND BY AND DO NOTHING!!!
When the attack comes, think of the people you could have warned and possible influence you could have on survival rates etc...
Call your friends in Jerusalem to tell them to leave for a week on this date - if you think they wont buy it then invite them to stay with you for a week - Just time it right.
FOR GODS SAKES .......... DO SOMETHING !!!

I for one am contacting my politicians, news media, and publish a newly started blog:
the purpose of which is to start publishing information that will be impactful to raising awareness of the current state of emergency the world is in.
I am seeking to change jobs to support a publishing or data gathering organization to put my skill sets to work supporting my need to "do something about it". I cannot physically fight, but can with my brain, skills and with my words.

This Ayman al-Zawahri seems to be more violent than Osama. His "views" do appear consistent with Islam terrorists elsewhere. Their attack will be on-going.
In view of this no so surprising statement,(and I agree with him the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah and Palestinian militants would not be ended with "cease-fires or agreements."
It appears Islam is openly stating it is a war to the death, win or lose.

I have attempted a few times myself to make postings to comments in a few of our national papers in the UK. I have been careful to word my opinions in order to express them in such a way that they present as practical and logical arguments against our nations ill informed adherence to the concept of "Multiculturalism" and our defenselessness in the face of EU beaurocracy that seeks to dissolve any aspect of our British nationality or historical traditions.
So far, not one of my postings or e-mails has been either acknowledged or allowed to release from moderation. I am of the firm belief that, insofar as they are concerned, our citizens must not be allowed in any way to hear an objective view from another, research the facts for themselves, and make their own minds up.
This is the nation where I am expected to feel guilt, and apologise for, Britains colonial history; Where I am expected to feel shame for the Union Flag, the Cross of St George and all they stand for.
Well..... I'm damned if I will. For as long as the cultural elite maintain their pipe dreams, I'll continue to raise my voice in objection, as I'm sure readers and posters here will.
Hopefully, people will listen before it's too late.

Churchill1938, you're right. I have tried and tried to get the various news medias to do a piece on August 22 to make the average Joe aware of what this nutter is up to. NOTHING. No response, no piece. Not even Fox News! I HAVE on the other hand, read lefty-liberal blog sites that poo poo the 'conspiracy theory' of 22 August and Iran. It seems the media will not report it and the liberals will not even consider it. Not good. I have not only put the piece on my personal website, but I have sent it to every friend, family member, etc. that I know to make them aware so that they can make others aware. My concern is that with Iran and N Korea working together....Iran funding N Korea's nuclear programme and N Korea getting missile technology from Iran (or rather Russia or China via Iran?), I am concerned that this monkey and his N Korean sidekick are planning a simultaneous attack on the US and Israel at the same time. There is also significance to August 7 according to Islam....I saw it somewhere, but can't remember. It was to do with a number that August 7th represented. So, I am of the belief, that things can get really bad anytime between now and the 22 of August. Regardless of the lack of coverage, I think we should all prepare for the worst. Stock our pantries, drugs, paper-goods, fuel, etc. and be ready to hold our positions if it becomes necessary.
You may find it interesting that The Telegraph did a piece on the 12th Imam back in January but nothing was mentioned about 22 January at that time. Here is the link...
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2006/01/14/wiran14.xml
I wrote the telegraph and sent an email to the author of this article but have not heard anything. I was hoping that he would research further and do an article on August 22.
Does it seem to anyone that the world is being purposely quiet about 22 August? If the government KNOWS that we are in danger, why haven't they prepared us?

alert-up-usa, of course they know that this is a religious war. Islam has quietly waited until enough of the west has become anti-Christian and secular. They have quietly waited until the media brainwashed the secular masses to become anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian. They have quietly waited until enough of the West decided that there is no god and that we all came as a result of a big bag which of course came from nothing. NOW, that they see Europe and the lefty-liberals on their side, they are moving in to fill the vacumn.
When the West dismissed Jehovah God from their schools, laws, etc. they invited demons to have a field-day and this is exactly what we see happening.
The days ahead will be bad for Israel, the Jews world-wide and the TRUE Christians who love and pray for Israel and who are not into replacement theology.
I heard it said that the difining line between the true Church and the false apostate church in these last days will be their stance on Israel. I believe this is true. I believe that not only will the whole world come to hate Israel, but they will also be offended by those Christians who stand with Israel. Satan's first attack is against Israel in an attempt to thwart God's plan of redemption. His second attack will be against true Believers who will be an offense to the world just as Christ was.

Life imitates art alert: in Simon Pearson's future history book "Total War 2006", Saladin, leader of the Islamic Alliance promises his generals a light in the sky as a sign that the time ahs come to attack Israel. On 31st August 2006, a nuclear armed scud explodes high over Israel, creating an electromagnetic pulse which (nearly) totally disables Israel's technology. Fortunately (and unfortunately for Tehreran and a number of other Islamic cities and troop concemtrations), Israel's nuclear silos are linked to the prime minister's office by a top-secret fibre optic link...

"Satan's first attack is against Israel in an attempt to thwart God's plan of redemption. His second attack will be against true Believers who will be an offense to the world just as Christ was."
Where do people come up with this stuff? It makes no more sense than believing Mohammed flew on a horse with a human head. And what, pray tell, defines a "true" believer from a (supposedly) "false" believer? Every religion we have now is a hodgepodge of those that came before it. It's a fantasy...it's all made up. People who believe in it shape their existence around it, and everything becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. What a world it would be if people could stop believing in fairy tales.

I have not read little reason from most of you. If Iran were to attack Israel in the manner described, it would be arguably beneficial to Israel. Yes, that's right, beneficial; it would justify military actions against Iran. Imagine the response. Iran would be thoroughly pummeled and the Iranian regime would surely collapse.
Mahdis and Jesuses don't come out of wells, don't live in Utah, and contrary to the desires of some, never come back - never will.

And how much of a little country like Israel would be left after a nuclear attack?
By that logic, we should also be hoping for a nuclear attack on US soil.

To my knowledge, Iran does not possess nuclear weapons. I certainly hope they do not. I was referring to the "lighting up the sky" of Jerusalem. My post was implying conventional weapons. If Iran launched such missiles for the light show, I would be happy to see the end of Iran. It would be the most nonsensical action ever by the Islamic Republic.

As threats of religious war loom, I feel like Kassandra, and see I am not alone here. Iran is clearly trying to build nuclear weapons to destroy civilization and dominate the remains. Our profession military is crippled by political incompetence, and our citizenry is divided. The generation of heros that fought victoriously in the second world war failed to recognize the looming threat- it's amazing that civilization survived that trial. No one will call the two generations since then great, if anyone speaks of them at all. Are we so damned as to forsee our cities in flames and still allow it to happen?

This has really been bugging me all night long. Iran's Thug-in-Chief has been trying to incite Israel for some time now. It's like a drug to him. He didn't make the August 22 reference for us in the West but for Israel. He knew they would pick up on the reference immediately and put two and two together.
So what remains to be seen is how Israel reacts to the threat. Do they have enough intelligence to know beyond the shadow of a doubt that Iran has the ability to carry through with these claims. Does Iran truly have Nukes already? If not how close are they to their goal? If Israel strikes and it is discovered that Iran was merely talking big with a little stick, what then?
I think the U.S. should be sharing mid-east intelligence with Israel like never before. Jonathan Pollard should have humbly been declared a HERO after Saddam was taken out. The U.S. has more capability than we let on and we always seem to know more than it appears.
I'm sorry to say but I think the next 'Jonathan Pollard' may just save the world. Here's to you JP!

Ahmadinejad: World will soon witness the demise of Israel
Wed. 12 Jul 2006
Iran Focus
Tehran, Iran, Jul. 12 – Hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that the world will soon witness the demise of Israel, the government-run news agency Fars reported.
“In the near future we will witness the rapid collapse of the Zionist regime”, Ahmadinejad told a crowd in the north-western city of Jolfa.
“The nations of the region will record the names of states that support the Zionist regime alongside the Zionist’s crimes”, he added.
Ahmadinejad caused an international furore last year when he publicly declared that the Holocaust was a “myth” and said that Israel must be “wiped off the map”.

Gates of Vienna | Baron Bodissey
...Malmö, Sweden’s third largest city, is set to become the first major Scandinavian city with a Muslim majority. The wave of robberies the city has witnessed is part of a “war against Swedes.” This is the explanation given by young robbers with immigrant backgrounds on why they are only robbing native Swedes. “When we are in the city and robbing, we are waging a war, waging a war against the Swedes.” “Power for me means that Swedes shall look at me, lie down on the ground and kiss my feet.”...
Jens Orback, Democracy Minister in the Social Democratic Swedish government, is worried about “the public’s lack of faith in politicians.” Yet the same Orback said during a radio debate that: “We must be open and tolerant towards Islam and Muslims because when WE BECOME A MINORITY, (they will be so towards us.” You have to be joking, they obviously dont look at Muslim countries). This is a government that knows perfectly well that their people will become a minority in their own country, and yet, is doing nothing to stop this. Has this ever happened before in human history, that the leaders of a nation are working to erase their own people and their history, and present this as an act of tolerance?
So with fools like this around it appears that Muslims have won, while Muslims mutiply like flies to not only become a voting force but a military force, and still the people do nothing...I am fast coming to the conclusion that Muslims have far more brains than us.. our tolerance is our down fall and they know it..

Churchill, you are dead right, I write to politicians, to talk backs, to the media and I get nothing, no encouragement etc,, in fact today I had decided to not have anything more to do with anything like this,, I spend so much of my time trying to wake people up and they dont want to be... I have even asked if people think we can win or are they winning.. with no replies... I must say though I have had one of my letters read out in parliament, but people just count people like us as cranks...they stick their heads in the sand and Muslims mutiply, but you are right, I feel sorry for anyone who goes against Israel, they will seem to win for a time but then God has said watch out to those who goes against Israel... Although Muslims seem to be winning at the moment I sure wouldnt like to be living in that area, nor would I like to be in their shoes when God pulls the plug on Israels enemies...
