Naveed Haq: Another psychically marginal Muslim finds meaning in jihad

Some time ago Hugh Fitzgerald wrote this about the psychically marginal Zacarias Moussaoui:

Infidels have a thousand things to blame. They can blame their parents -- just as many on that Infidel jury wanted to blame, for Moussaoui, his treatment by his parents. They can blame their aggressive or unpleasant siblings, their ungrateful children, the System, Racism, The Man, Amerikkka, Kapitalism, Fate, the stars, their cholesterol level, their serotonin level, anything and everything at all -- even, just perhaps, themselves. But Muslim Believers have one thing to blame always at the ready. And to the extent that one takes that belief-system seriously, it is likely that one will, viewing the universe through the grid, the prism, of Islam, blame the Infidel. And that is exactly what Moussaoui did.

And now it looks as if another psychically marginal Muslim, Naveed Haq, has done just the same thing: embraced jihad as a way to give his life meaning, after casting about in a number of different areas. "Shooting suspect was baptized: Just part of the enigma he proved himself to friends," from the Seattle Times, with thanks to all who sent this in:

RICHLAND -- Those who knew Naveed Haq said Saturday that to them he was an enigma, a puzzle that they wish they could have solved before his deadly rampage in a Seattle Jewish center.

Stunned and saddened by the news, some of Haq's acquaintances recounted many of what they saw as the contradictions of his life.

He held a degree in electrical engineering and was the son of a successful engineer, yet he couldn't keep a regular job. He was smart, creative and skilled as a writer. He recently won an essay contest for a U.S. Institute of Peace scholarship.

Yet Haq was frustrated at his lack of friends and female companionship. He told friends he felt alienated from his own family, in part because his career had disappointed his father and also because he had disavowed Islam last year, converting to Christianity.

Haq had begun studying the Bible, attending weekly men's spiritual group meetings, only to stop coming a few months after his baptism.

He had told the group's leader that he seen too much anger in Islam and that he wanted to find a new beginning in Christianity.

Yet in the midst of his shooting spree in Seattle Friday, he declared himself an angry Muslim.

Acquaintances said he never seemed the fanatic religious extremist he played out on Friday. Instead some think his anger was really directed at problems in his personal and professional life.

"Naveed had the profile of the guy who just couldn't get things together," said Erik Neilsen, a Richland resident who let Haq live with him for three months in 2004. He said he thinks several problems compounded for Haq, and he just exploded.

Outstanding quote from Hugh.

Regarding puke Haq: did the media also tell you he had just come from a mosque, had shaved himself himself head to toe like a suicide bomber, and was fully prepared to be the 'good' jihad boy.

The death penalty.

Sounds like someone is setting the stage for an insanity plea. "The poor dear, he couldn't get his shit together, so it's really not his fault he murdered an unarmed woman (and tried to murder five others) just because she was Jewish."

I have said it before:

All mosques should be closely monitored to see who goes in and out. Be mindful of packages being delivered. NOte vehicle tag numbers and take pictures. report any suspicious activity to the authorities. (they may ignore you, but at least you tried).

Mosques are forward observation posts and intelligence operation centers for terror cells.

It has been proven many times, mosques store weapons and explosives.

Mosques should be banned in your neighborhood.

This just came from a friend.

Doctor Charged in Drive-By Shooting

DICKINSON, Texas (AP) — A doctor has been charged in the drive-by shooting of a bicyclist, who was hit in the chest and shoulder and is now recovering at the same hospital where the physician works.

Dr. Wameeth Fadhli, a doctor at the University of Texas Medical Branch hospital in Galveston, was jailed Thursday on $60,000 bond after being accused of firing numerous shots at the 22-year-old man on Tuesday.

According to witnesses, the victim was riding his bicycle when a sport utility vehicle pulled alongside and began firing what they described as a pistol. The witnesses told police the shooter was alone and wearing what appeared to be surgical scrubs, said Galveston County Sheriff's Maj. Ray Tuttoilmondo.

The bicyclist, whose name was not released, was in guarded condition after surgery for bullet wounds in his chest and left shoulder, officials said.

Investigators found a vehicle matching witness de! scriptions in front of a home where they found Fadhli and took him into custody. Fadhli, 33, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Police had not found the gun by Thursday, and officials said they had no evidence that the two men knew each other.

"At this point, this looks like it could have been just a random shooting, and that makes it a pretty scary crime," Assistant District Attorney Xochitl Vandiver said.

Fadhli will not perform any clinical work while the investigation is under way, hospital spokeswoman Jennifer Reynolds-Sanchez said.

And now the usual from a friend of the family in an AP story:

Haq's parents are devastated and struggling to understand how their son strayed from the teachings of Islam, Ullah said.

Here is a link to OBSESSION: THE MOVIE for viewing on Google.
It really reminds us of what the reality of this situation is: it's us or them. Let's make it them, since this whole thing is their bright idea.
Muhammud is the Anti Christ. I am certain. Anyway, we have no choice but to end this once and for all.
By the way, what has Japan and Germany been up to since the last world war? Anyone? I'll tell you: living as civilized human beings with the rest of the civilized world, that's what.
Let's drop a couple of bombs and start over.

Can a Muslim be a good American?

Theologically - no. Because his allegiance is to
Allah, the moon god of
Arabia.

Religiously - no. Because no other religion is
accepted by his Allah
except
Islam (Quran, 2:256)

Scripturally - no. Because his allegiance is to
the five pillars of Islam
and the Quran (Koran).

Geographically - no. Because his allegiance is to
Mecca, to which he
turns
in prayer five times a day.

Socially - no. Because his allegiance to Islam
forbids him to make
friends
with Christians or Jews.

Politically - no. Because he must submit to the
mullah (spiritual
leaders),
who teach annihilation of Israel and Destruction
of America, the great
Satan.

Domestically - no. Because he is instructed to
marry four women and beat
and
scourge his wife when she disobeys him (Quran 4:34).

Intellectually - no. Because he cannot accept the
American Constitution
since it is based on Biblical principles and he
believes the Bible to be
corrupt.

Philosophically - no. Because Islam, Muhammad,
and the Quran do not allow
freedom of religion and _expression. Democracy
and Islam cannot co-exist.

Every Muslim government is either dictatorial or
autocratic.

Spiritually - no. Because when we declare "one
nation under God," the
Christian's God is loving and kind, while Allah
is NEVER referred to as
heavenly father, nor is he ever called love in
The Quran's 99 excellent
names.

Therefore after much study and deliberation....
perhaps we should be very
suspicious of ALL MUSLIMS in this country. They
obviously cannot be both
"good" Muslims and good Americans. Call it what
you wish.... it's still
the
truth..

The more who understand
this,
the better it will be for our country and our future.

He recently won an essay contest for a U.S. Institute of Peace scholarship.

The topic: "Just war" - that is, "when is war just?"
(from the US Institute of Peace' website).

USIP selected this same Naveed Haq's essay for all Washington State.

(They pick 3 national winners, plus one per state.)

I wonder what he said in the essay.
