In the wake of Nasrallah's threat to strike Tel Aviv, Iran admits what was already widely known. From the Jerusalem Post: "Iran: We supplied Zelzal-2 to Hizbullah"
Iran admitted for the first time on Friday that it did indeed supply long-range Zelzal-2 missiles to Hizbullah.
Secretary-general of the "Intifada conference" Mohtashami Pur told an Iranian newspaper that Iran transferred the missiles so that they could be used to defend Lebanon, Channel 1 reported.
The extent of Iran's intimate involvement in Hizbullah attacks is starting to emerge.
According to the defense establishment, the reason Hizbullah has not fired long-range Iranian-made Fajr missiles at Israel is due to Teheran's opposition. Israel now understands that without direct orders from the ayatollahs, Hizbullah is not allowed to use Iranian missiles in attacks against Israel.
The IDF also believes that it seriously damaged the long-range rocket array in the first night of air strikes almost three weeks ago and impaired Hizbullah's ability to fire the rockets.
The longer-range Zelzal missiles, manufactured by Iran and capable of reaching Tel Aviv, have also not been fired at Israel, and the IDF believes this is because it destroyed almost two-thirds of these in the Hizbullah arsenal.

the oil wealth of Iran is being drained dramatically and will cause their people to remain poverty. there needs to be a rising of iranians to stop their governments insanity. I hope Israel keeps on draining iranian reserves!

Will I hear any condemnation from the U.N.?
Will France still admit that Iran is a "stabalizing force" in the Middle East?
I believe we will hear from both the U.N. and Europe "justification" for this. Which indicates to me that our allies are not our allies.

I agree Alaskan100. The U.N. will agree with Iran that it is just "moral support" and write a letter of apology to them. Maybe give them a slap on the wrist, but don't count on it. DEATH TO HESBOLLAH!!

"...without direct orders from the ayatollahs, Hizbullah is not allowed to use Iranian missiles in attacks against Israel."
The solution then is simple: take the war to the ayatollahs. After Israel subdues hezbulluh, they should go into Iran and eliminate the ayatollahs and their supporters.

... Iran transferred the missiles so that they could be used to defend Lebanon.
To protect Lebanon from an entirely innocent neighbor nation that has the gall to protect itself. These are good Moslems, good activist Moslems, acting on the Sunnah, a 22 year period that was the most lurid and squalid in human history.

So, because these pathetic Islamic countries can't fight Israel, they hire goons like Hezballah and Hamas to do their dirty work, huh? Why should Israel not attack Iran? Would that not take care of the goons like Hezballah?

The Iranians/Shiites/Hezbollah are too hormonal. They always end up revealing their hand before they're ready. Now Iran's gonna get its nukes whacked out from under it, by their having attacked Israel so soon. Hezbollah were too impatient, and jumped the gun before Iran was totally prepared. Ah, good help is soooo hard to find. :P

IAF strikes Beirut, Tyre after barrage on Hadera
By JPOST.COM STAFF
IAF warplanes attacked Hizbullah in Shiite neighborhoods of south Beirut early Saturday, and
helicopters fired missiles in the southern city of Tyre.
Two or three rockets landed in the region of Hadera for the first time on Friday night, marking the southernmost point Hizbullah has fired so far in the conflict, some 90 km south of the Lebanese border. Four locals suffered from shock.
Northern police district chief Dan Ronnen said that the fact that long-range rockets carry dozens of kilograms of explosives could account for the many reports of explosions heard in communities in the region.
Hizbullah confirmed on al-Manar that it fired a barrage of Khaibar 1 rockets at Hadera on Friday night.
The group said that it was a response to the "vicious crime" perpetrated by the IAF earlier in the day near the Lebanese-Syrian border in which 28 people were killed.
The Home Front Command reminded those living south of Haifa that they do not need to stay in shelters or fortified rooms but rather know where one is and take into account that a warning siren would give residents about one minute to seek shelter.
Earlier, several long-range rockets also landed near Migdal Ha'emek causing no injuries or damage.
Hizbullah leader Hassan Nasrallah has threatened to hit Tel Aviv if the Lebanese capital of Beirut is targeted by Israeli warplanes. Israel resumed air strikes on Beirut on Thursday, after initially targeting the city at the beginning of the war.

Tel Aviv is the red line. Damascus has to have been warned by now. That's why Nazrallah's threats haven't been carried out.

Here's a strange case of hypocrisy:
http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/08/04/opinion/eddarfur.php
China is protecting the Islamic/Arab northern Sudanese dictatorship from world oppobrium while it massacres the largely black Christian south. Tell me, how is it that so many can scream about a few hundred deaths in Lebanon, while Sudan is killing people by the hundreds of thousands like it was East Bengal?
It's the Red-Green Show!

Iran is doing this all deliberately in order to draw the USA into a war, and perhaps the sooner we get it over with, the better. My gut tells me that the next (less than) three weeks, leading up to Aug. 22 (see other postings in jihadwatch.org vis-a-vis Aug. 22) will be extremely important.
As a jew, it hurts to see civilians suffer, and I mean this with complete sincerity. There are indeed innocents who are dying because of Hizb'allah's cowardliness and because Israel is forced to defend itself.
But there are more cowards: there are the idiots at the UN who are doing moral headstands and damning the wrong people. There are extremists in both the left and the right-wing press who are damning the wrong people. There is a so-called "paradigm-shift" going on here: the more you write that the Hizb'allah is a group of "freedom fighters" instead of calling them terrorists, then the more people are going to start to believe this drivel.
I truly hope that the Bush administration will take a hard look at the massive shiite protests (hundreds and hundreds of thousands of shiites, like mad dogs, screaming death to Israel and death to America yesterday) going on in Iraq, in the country that we have spent hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars to "free", and realize that we are wasting our time there. The only possible advantage we have there at the current time is our military presence in the event of a large war against Iran, which is looking more and more possible.
Iran's open admission to having given Hizb'allah the Zelzal-2 rockets is akin to an open declaration of war anyway. It is Iran's way of saying to us: "we can destroy Tel Aviv, our mad dogs are just waiting for the go-ahead from us".
Put these mad dogs down!

does a sane person think Aug.22 will be the date that Iran will try to nuke Israel, or have its minion Hizbollah do their bidding? you saw the rockets in N.Korea, could not get off the ground, and rest fell in the ocean side?

So, Iran is admiting the medium range Zelzal-2 is being supplied to hizbullah. Any attempt to stop the fighting from the U.N. MUST address this.
Iran just admitted it is supplying missiles to a faction they control, against a country they want removed from the planet.
These tools of war are directed at the citizens of another country, not the army. A clear over stepping of the rules of war.
If this is not addressed, the U.S. must block any U.N. action until it is, Iran is directly involved in the targeting of citizens of Israel.

Hi Americaningermany - Perhaps its the other way around - the Christian religion contributes to purposeful work and family and keeps its adherents quite occupied as does Judaism. Those in America who are angry are the secularists, those who don't want any religion and continue to obsess (overwork) to remove it from the public square. And I predict they won't stop there.
As for Europe - I recommend the Book "Eurabia" by Bat Ye'or. From this book I gleaned that the European Elites, quite out of touch with their own people, have for the last 30 years collaborated with the Arabs in order to sell to them, to open up markets. Apparently the price was dhimmitude for the Europeans and hatred of America and Israel. Here in America it took a 9/11 for us to wake up and start to see where our own head in the sand routine has led us - A Corrupted United Nations and a corrupted European Union. At this point I am not happy with Iraq - but I am not sure we should leave. I really think our military objectives should determine that. And I have to note that the Kurds in the north of the country are completely peaceful and developing like gangbusters with very little involvement from us - like about six coalition soldiers.

So if Iran is providing support to Hezbollah, the Israelis have a right to strike at Iran.
Can they please start with the nuclear installations?
