Why oh why won't our press and media tell us what these clerics, imams and mullahs say about us in the West? Why won't they inform us of Hizbollah's aims? Are they scared of making the Israelis popular and look like the good guys? Much as I dislike Al Jazeera and Al Arabiyah, at least they do tell those who choose to take notice what the likes of Nasrallah say, and the unpleasantries that go unreported in the Western media. Come on BBC, CNN, ITV etc, tell us what comes out of the mullahs foul mouths. Lets hear their poison, and let the people in the West see for themselves the abject contempt which the Muslim world holds us in. No politically-correct pussyfooting, and no keeping it out of the public domain lest it offend a few Muslims, who want us to remain uninformed. What a contrast. The spineless West are afraid to publish a few cartoons, the announcements of impending subjugation and death for the West from these Islamists continue to go unreported, whilst slabs of anti-Israeli, anti-US, anti-Bush and anti-Blair invective get churned out like links of sausage pouring out of a sausage-making machine, and get recycled time and time again 24 hours a day, but still cannot spare even five minutes of airtime a day to inform us of the growing perils we are facing.

All this rising world tension seems to be leading to a larger and more serious war in the very near future. The radical muslims are being manipulated by these venomous clerics and they respond in typical fashion :

"Death to America!
Death to Israel!
Death to Britain!"
etc., etc., bla, bla, blah.

Yet the west presses the snooze button again. It's as if we're still naive enough to believe that all this hostility will never reach our shores. I hope something big and nasty is being planned to thwart the swelling tide of hatred and bitterness in Iran. A clear message needs to be delivered to Iran very soon, and preferably one large enough to put a stop to these death threats.

Are we smart enough or resolved enough to protect ourselves, or are we going to try to negotiate with these irrational hatemongers?

Once more, as we approach August 22, Iran sounds the war trumpets. This is not just normal arab hyperbole and rhetoric. This is priming the pump. They are preparing not only their own citizens, but the arab world for the attack on August 22 and the inevitable counter attack.

A few days ago Madhat told the Iranian people the only way to victory was through martyrdom - meanning, expect major casualties.

This is it people. Perhaps the most calamitous event in western history is about to happen in a few short days. Iran has said as much, including Madhat's statement reported in official meetings last year that history would end sometime in the next two years - by his reckoning.

It could be that the major powers suspect what we suspect, but do not want to "alarm" or "panic" the population and by extension, weaken the markets. So they don't talk about August 22, in the off chance that it does not transpire.

Hold on to your hats people. Stock up on supplies and don't make any major cash investments between now and then. If the economy goes belly up with a stock crash, which it would if WW III breaks out in nuclear form, you don't want to be left with all your money in non-liquid form. You can't eat bonds or stocks or your house. Nor will you be able to sell them. You will need money for food and supplies.

The war deals a severe blow to Israel Aircraft Industries: The Turkish government has canceled a deal to upgrade fighter jets worth USD 500 million because of the war in Lebanon.

The Israel Aircraft Industries fears that more deals could be canceled.

In 1997 Turkey signed an agreement with Israel for the upgrading of 54 Phantom aircraft at the cost of USD 1 billion.

The deal was concluded in 2003 and Turkey showed interest in upgrading another 50 Phantom jets for USD 500 million.

Turkey is weighing the purchase of new F-16 jets from the United States instead of upgrading its old fleet.

"They are old costumers, and the cancellation of the deal is a very bad sign," a senior military official said Monday.

The Israel Aircraft Industries refused to comment on the decision.

Turkey's interest in Israeli military products has long been considered as a "goldmine" in Israel.

"Turkey was conceived as a replacement for South Africa and Iran, who were big customers of Israeli weapons," he said.

Since the war in Lebanon opposition parties in Turkey have increased pressure on the government to cut military ties with Israel.
