Iranian News: Iran "supports Lebanon, Palestine on Islamic teachings basis"

On the occasion of the birthday of Imam Ali -- considered by Shi'ites to be the rightful successor to Muhammad -- Iran's ambassador to Spain invokes Ali's memory in attempting to justify his country's conduct against Israel and the West.

From Islamic Republic News Agency:

Iran's Ambassador to Spain, Mahmoud Salehi, said Iranian government and nation's support for Islamic resistance in Lebanon and Palestine is based on Islamic teachings of Imam Ali (AS).
In a ceremony to commemorate the birthday anniversary of the Commander of Faithful, Imam Ali (AS), here on Monday, Salehi, said Imam Ali (AS) has urged Muslims to assist oppressed nations and that's why Iran's foreign policy has been on the basis of defending the rights of the Lebanese and Palestinian people.
"In the contemporary world, the Zionist regime is an embodiment of an oppressor and we have the duty to defend the oppressed," he said.

Salehi appears to be quoting Ali's last testament, in which he said:

"Oppose the oppressor and support the oppressed ... Persist in jihad in the cause of Allah, with your money, your souls, and your tongue.

"Jihad in the cause of Allah": jihad fi sabil Allah. That is, taking up arms in the cause of Allah.

More of Ali's thoughts on jihad -- certainly in the forefront of the minds of the Iranian leadership -- can be found in the Nahj al-Balaghah ("Highway of Eloquence"), a collection of his sermons. For examples, see sermons 24 and 27, both entitled "Exhorting people for jihad."

Here's one scenario where Iran could nuke Israel on Aug 22. The events have been lined up rather well so far.

First Iran gets Israel to attack the Palestinians, then they prompt an attack on Lebanon.
Support: “On July 11, the day before Hezbollah launched its barrage and abducted two Israeli soldiers, Iran's nuclear negotiator, Ali Larijani, met EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana in Brussels and told him that Iran would not meet EU demands to stop its nuclear weapons program. Solana told Larijani the EU would therefore support the US in imposing sanctions on Iran. On his way home, Larijani stopped in Beirut and met senior Hezbollah leaders. At that meeting, Hezbollah was given its orders - attack Israel. The motive for this order is clear: to divert attention from Iran's conflict with the US and the EU over its nuclear weapons program.” Link: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20049842-7583,00.html

They have used the propaganda from the killing of civilians to their advantage and have captured support from many of the countries in the Middle East. Currently, Israel has said that if Tel Aviv is attacked it will act as if it came from Iran. This has not happened yet but if it does happen, Iran will most likely respond.
Support: “In the most explicit threat yet from Israel to Iran, Dan Gillerman, the ambassador to the UN, said in an interview with the BBC that an attack by Hizbullah on Tel Aviv would be tantamount to an "act of war" and Hizbullah would not make such an attack without an explicit order from Iran. The implication of his words was that Israel would retaliate by attacking Tehran.”
Link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/syria/story/0,,1838703,00.html

Iran’s spiritual leader has already said that a nuclear exchange with Israel is acceptable. Support: “Iran's "supreme leader", Ayatollah Khamenei, has said the casualties Iran would sustain in a nuclear exchange with Israel would be acceptable if it meant Israel could be "eliminated" at the same time.”
Link: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20049842-7583,00.html

Additionally, Iran has said that it will respond with 100 times greater force to any attack by the US or Israel.
Support: “Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said that Washington and Tel Aviv had been “defeated” in their battle with the Lebanese militia Hezbollah. “Undoubtedly, if these criminals try to take action and conduct mischief against Iran they will suffer blows 100 times more powerful”.”

Lastly, August 22 represents an important date for the history of Islam and may be an opportune moment for such an attack.
Support: “What is the significance of Aug. 22? ... This, by tradition, is the night when many Muslims commemorate the night flight of the prophet Muhammad on the winged horse Buraq, first to “the farthest mosque,” usually identified with Jerusalem, and then to heaven and back (c.f., Koran XVII.1). This might well be deemed an appropriate date for the apocalyptic ending of Israel and if necessary of the world. It is far from certain that Mr. Ahmadinejad plans any such cataclysmic events precisely for Aug. 22. But it would be wise to bear the possibility in mind.”

So, if you think about it, keeping the above issues in mind, it is possible to see how Iran could have been planning this attack from before there was any conflict with Israel to begin with. Israel is drawn into fighting first with the Palestinians and then with Lebanon. All the while anger against Israel is increasing and uniting the Muslim world. With an attack on Iran (in response to Hesbola launching missles at Tel Aviv), Israel is portrayed as trying to attack everyone it can. Iran responds with nukes and is nuked in return. But the logic behind this, in the minds of the Iranian leaders, is that this conflict and destruction will unite the Muslim world and bring about the return of the 12th Imam.
Support: “In his [Ahmadinejad] own words, the Islamic "Revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th imam, the Mahdi".

Last thing: The imposition of sanctions on Iran could be the turning of the tide and if Iran wanted to make a move, it might want to do so before a full unification of the western powers has coalesced against them. Furthermore, I think it is important to take Iran at its word when it says the destruction of Israel is soon. I have seen no evidence that Mr. Ahmadinejad is trying to lie to anyone about how he sees things.

When this Iranian ambassador to Spain returns to Madrid, one hopes that Spanish reporters will have done some homework to find out what the Muslim view of Spain is, and ask him about it. Is Spain a country in which Muslims have as much a claim as they do, for now, on Iceland -- or is there something else the Ambassador to Spain from Iran would like to tell us about Islamic teachings, about Dar al-Islam, and Dar al-Harb, and what must, by right, dominate in Spain, and by right, who must rule in Spain. It would make good copy, sell some newspapers, just possibly open some eyes.

What a great vehicle religion has been for politicians looking to further their own careers.

I mean, its not a like a politician to invent a pretext for appointing themselves the leader of the resistance against tryanny, is it?

(And in so doing, becoming tyrannical themselves).

Heaven is a world without politicians.

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - The number of millionaires in America reached record highs in 2004, hitting 7.5 million, according to a new survey.

That represented a gain of 21 percent, the largest jump in the number of U.S. millionaires since 1998, according to the survey by the Spectrem Group, a Chicago-based research firm.

Spectrem counted Americans with net assets of $1 million or more, excluding primary residences but including second homes and other real estate holdings. There were 6 million millionaires in 2001, when the bursting of the tech-stock bubble pruned more than a million Americans from this status.

The firm surveyed data from 450 households. It found the ranks of the very wealthiest Americans, those with investable assets of more than $5 million, climbed even faster, up 38 percent in 2004.

Much of the increased wealth can be traced to stock market gains, according to the report. About 37 percent of the investable assets of Americans with net worth of $500,000 or more are in stocks and mutual funds and another 14 percent are in IRAs. About 9 percent is in cash.

The survey found that more than 35 percent of the affluent are retired and 36 percent are business owners. The overwhelming majority – 86 percent – are married, and the mean age is just under 56.

People are becoming millionaires by investing in real estate, IRAs, running businesses, prudent investments in stocks and mutual funds, making sound decisions and generally taking charge of their own lives rather than electing to become a ward of the government.

Out of 7.5 million millionaires you will find most do not have 30% investment is oil stock or futures. Oil stock is profitable to be sure but it is volitile and unstable. People can make money on oil stock but oil stock can kill you. If you were to view their stock portfolios you would find a wide variety of investments in other businesses and only a small number of investors would invest 30% in oil.

If the Dhimmicrats had their way, no one would become rich as the Dhimmicrats would tax the successful people into submission thereby forcing causing business to close, loss of jobs, and the masses of the people to become slaves of the government as the government will be the saviours of the country by providing welfare, socialized medicine, subsidized housing, government schooling.

Once the government controls the people and the money then you have socialism.

Capitalism runs America. It is the desire of most Americans to make themselves richer. It is the rich who build the factories, provide the jobs, make the discoveries, pay the taxes, provide the services.

Take away the ability to make money and you destroy America. The Dhimmicrats are trying to do just that.

Hmmm. Now that Iran is playing sugar daddy to Hamas, it's too bad Mahmoud Salehi didn't also use the occasion to acquaint the Spanish government with Hamas's views on the subject of Al-Andaluse. I'm sure the dhimmis would love to take that aspect of Iranian foreign policy under advisement.
